Democratic strategists are worried scenes of violence in Kenosha, Wis., and the “defund the police” debate could give Republicans and President Trump a boost with suburban voters. The issue has come back to the forefront amid new incidents of violence, property destruction and protests this week after another unarmed Black man, Jacob Blake, was shot in the back by a police officer. Some Democrats worry the continuing unrest could give Trump an opening with swing voters in Wisconsin and other key states that voted for Trump in 2016. “Republicans are very wisely pouncing on this moment and using that language
They thought we were so stupid that the networks could fool us. But who are we going to believe? The news anchors or our 'lying eyes'. I believe my lying eyes.

Of course the article implies that it's not that riots are bad. It's those wascally wepublicans "pouncing" that is bad because it hurts Dems at the polls.

Any Democrat or Independent voter with half a brain shouldn't vote for the Socialist ticket of Biden/Harris. That is unless they feel comfortable allowing their children and grandchildren to live in a nation run by Marxists.

I could be wrong about this, but when I was younger (I am now 51) I think most American politicians had some personal interest in working out their differences for the good of the country. Most would not tolerate lawlessness. Perhaps I am remembering wrongly.
But it seems to me that some pols -- mainly if not exclusively on the Left -- are fine with lawlessness as long as it benefits them.

Only in the suburbs?? Which planet are they living on? What do you call the in-your-face yelling and screaming last night in front of the WH? Ballroom dancing?

If Democrats support de-funding the police, and they do, and are supportive of the destruction and looting because they understand the anger, and they are, they need to stand up for what they believe in and let the chips fall where they may. Instead they know they must lie about what they believe and their agenda in order to get elected. It will not work this time. That cat is out of the bag and long gone. Ever notice that when Kamala Harris is asked to comment on a far left lunatic position she never actually answers the question? Instead, she always says "now that's a discussion we need to have". There is a video of Don Lemon asking her if murderers and sex offenders that are still in prison she be able to vote. She actually answered with the phrase, "now that's a discussion we need to have" proving she will do anything to avoid letting people know what she actually believes. This is why she and Biden are so dangerous. I'd rather have Bernie and AOC running because at least they will admit what they are in favor of so you can make a choice.

The democrats are devoid of any love for this nation and its people. They are corrupt and lust for power regardless of how they achieve it. They thought the riots could be blamed on Trump, somehow, so they encouraged more and more of them.
Nuh-uh, morons.

Suburbanites as well as city dwellers will flock to Trump in herds. If only George Soros and his protesters had been smart enough to choose credible martyrs to throw their temper tantrums about instead of drug-addled criminal lowlife garbage.

The dems and their agents are the ones who unleashed and are executing the violence. They have been waiting in the shadows for the smallest provocation and then exploded into action. Dem leadership in cities and states are in on it and tell the police to stand down. The people start getting hurt or killed. Businesses are firebombed. Police stations are destroyed. Police are targeted.
All this has been done as willful acts by dems and people they ally themselves with. They are thugs and criminals. They have been in waiting for this opportunity and the dems have been stupid enough to set them loose and shield them. Just as China loosed COVID on us, the dems loosed the riots on us. Why? To gain power and control and to injure those they don't care about. This kind of fear and intimidation is a taste of what it would be like in the dem socialist utopia.
I hope President Trump blows away these evil fools in a tsunami election win.

"another unarmed Black man, Jacob Blake".
We don't know yet that he was 'unarmed'. The real facts are not out yet.

If my dumbass neighbors knew of Biden's intent to eliminate the suburbs as we know them it would be game over. It's easy to be cool and down with the struggle until you meet the new neighbors.

The Dems and media approved the violence and looting by pretending they weren’t happening. Now they are panicked. Guess what? They are about to find out the impossibility of putting the toothpaste back in the tub. Dems and media: you own this!

Democrats may worry that these troubles may cause them problems in the elections, but it will never enter their feeble little minds that just maybe they are wrong about everything they stand for.

He lost me when he said Jacob Blake was unarmed. He was carrying a knife, and reports are that he was reaching for a gun in his car. The DA will neither confirm nor deny that, but the gov. is Looney Left, and if he told the truth the riots would end, and if he lied, he'd be in deep hurt.
But, even if Blake had been unarmed, protests are OK, but as soon as one act of violence is committed, it is no longer a protest. It is a riot; and that's NOT free speech.

When the dumbocrats are so stupid that they support the rioters, what else do they expect? And I haven't heard them condemn that black guy that shot a 5 year old in the head.
Just what do they offer, anyway? Except more rioting and looting and destruction.

I don't know why, because they hate those of us out here in what is known as 'flyover country'. They haven't cared about what we think in decades. I think the last democrats who did were people like Tip O'Neill and even he jumped the line on occasion.
