Something’s rotten at
the Supreme Court

Justice Gorsuch wrote a one-paragraph dissent attacking the Supreme Court’s decision to reject a Nevada church’s emergency application. The application sought an injunction stopping the Governor of Nevada from shutting down meaningful church services, even as he allowed vast assemblies at casinos, movie theaters, and other secular sites. What should be more important than a pithy dissent, though, is the Supreme Court’s – and, more specifically, Chief Justice Roberts's -- appalling behavior. It is another reminder of how desperately important it is to return President Trump to the White House.

The federal judiciary is an authoritarian political body - un-elected, un-accountable, un-democratic and un-American.
De-fund the federal judiciary.

More than rotten... corrupt, evil, and starts from the Chief Justice.

We can only speculate about the reason that Roberts made this decisions, but anyone can read the Bill of Rights and understand the First Amendment. It’s not that hard. What Roberts had done is open the door for further intrusion by the government into our churches. God help us if the democrats win in November. They will go after the church’s tax exempt status and will regulate what kind of speech is legal and illegal behind the pulpit. The speed with which the democrat party has moved to the left to now attack the First Amendment is breathtaking. I can hardly believe it is happening. This betrayal of Roberts is an abomination because any high school student can read and understand the First Amendment, yet Roberts defies simple reading comprehension to make his decision. Most of us believe he has been compromised in one way or another or has been a sleeper the whole time. Regardless of his motivation, it is clear that he has abandoned any constitutional integrity he ever had. It is at times like these that I miss Justice Antonin Scalia. He was a treasure unlike Roberts who appears to be fool’s gold.

We have had presidents and congress and law enforcement and governors....ignore the constitution. But when the supreme court ignores the constitution, democracy really is hanging in the balance!
The First Amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the FREE EXERCISE thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” That is unambiguous.
If congress cannot do it, neither can a state legislature, a governor or a president.
If a local church chooses to limit their own services, that is certainly their option, but they should not be subject to government control!
This is a clear demonstration of “give the state an inch and they will take a mile”.
If we can’t stop this, they can tell us who may preach and what they are allowed to say. 1984 is here!

Where the Supreme Court wields the most power is over Constitutional questions. They are not unaccountable in cases of statutory interpretation because the elected representatives can amend or repeal the statute. In theory, at least the Constitution can be amended, too, but the Bill of Rights is pretty sacrosanct. That is what makes Roberts anti-religion stance so odd. He voted against gay marriage and the in favor of the Colorado baker. I don't buy into conspiracy theories, like him being blackmailed. If a Never-Trumper could vote for Biden, they could trash the Constitution, too.

What's rotten is many of the justices ! They no longer follow the U.S. Constitution, in favor of MAKING law. Robert's garbage ruling in the Obamacare fiasco was an abomination. He knows it, I know it, and everyone with a brain knows it. He make A into B by twisted logic that had nothing to do with the Constitution.

#1 -- Sorry, that's now how it works vis a vis the Constitution. However, we can change it by electing legislators and presidents who place constitutionalists on the bench. Mitch McConnell has been doing a pretty good job. I hope and pray that the swift movement by he and Trump to get conservative constitutionalists on the courts pays off in the long run...still a lot more work left to do.

We're only one more justice away from a conservative court...we need Republicans to appoint that one. And right now the court is 5-4 Republican appointees, including the Chief Justice. In the past we have seen such brilliant Republican appointments as David Souter and the granddaddy of them all, Earl Warren. When the need arises one always seems to find a way to deny their conservatism.

Have believed for a long time that future SCOTUS nominations are the number one issue for Democrats in their never-ending, frenzied, 'criminal' battle to defeat Trump this November - since they didn't succeed in bringing him down before or during his first term. This is but one of many justifiable reasons that make it crucial he win this upcoming election. Many of us 'out here' are rather quiet - but carefully watching these irrational, dangerous people who are doing their best to send America 'off the deep end' of history - destroying our country that so many have sacrificed to protect. We are unwaveringly determined to see Trump reelected and America 'saved' from the brink of total disaster if he is not.

President Eisenhower, after leaving office, said the biggest mistake he ever made was selecting Earl warren for the Supreme Court.
As for Chief Judas John Roberts, I believe he should medically disqualified from the Court. His epilepsy is poorly controlled, and I suspect he has to take lots of different medications each day to try to control the problem. Yet he has public seizures.
If he can't drive a car, he shouldn't be driving the country.

John Roberts was compromised from day 1. The Democrats have been holding something over his head all this time. That and his RINO leanings have betrayed this nation time and time again. We need to know why he is compromised and he needs to be forced to resign in shame during the next 4 years of President Trump. THAT should be a priority.

All the more critical now for the Senate to remain under pubbie control and flip the House. Soon to be Speaker McCarthy and Leader McConnell, please start impeachment proceedings against Roberts and have him removed from the Court.

The Chief Justice is playing the role of turncoat. We always get a Republican judge who goes off and joins the left once they find their way on the Supreme Court. David Souter was a perfect example. John Roberts is keeping the streak alive.
I'll say this for our Democrat judicial friends. They meet my definition of political honesty: Once they're bought, they stay bought

Chief Justice John Roberts is an abomination.
He has adopted critical race theory. He has chosen to re-define words in politically correct ways. He just wants to be invited to the good parties in DC, and not to be pilloried in the press. He is so non-political that it hurts. Who else could say that a premium (fee for service) is a tax? Who else could say that sex (male = testes, female = ovaries) means sexual preference? Who else could say that private property is public land? Who else could say that a puddle is a waterway?
He is not ignorant. He is not stupid. He is not greedy. He just wants to be liked.
And therefore he is hated! Funny thing about that.
Too bad the people he wants to like him hate America.
Wrong crowd to go after.

Spot on # 5. My thought is that one day someone filmed whilst he had an epileptic attack. It's not a pretty sight. Or they filled his glass to mix up all his meds and they managed to film how he acts when drunk. Either way, they, the left, keep holding this over his head and if America saw what he looks/acts like then we would demand his resignation the next day. Perhaps a couple of conservatives should do the same and threaten him. Just seeing his moronic grinning face is enough for me to zap the TV off.
