The St. Louis lawyers who pulled weapons on protesters marching past their home are being investigated for possible criminal charges, the city’s lead prosecutor has revealed. Mark and Patricia McCloskey — who went viral after brandishing an AR-15-style rifle and a silver-colored handgun, respectively — were the only ones to lodge a police report over Sunday’s confrontation, insisting they were “victims” of threatening trespassers who entered a gated community, the St. Louis American noted. But the husband-and-wife lawyers are being probed by police and prosecutors for possible threats against the crowd, authorities announced Monday.

Private property, property damage, real time threats of violence, Castle Doctrine... and they are both rich lawyers who know their rights. You know the prosecutor is running for some office to pull a stunt like this. I hope the couple sues the city into the ground.
These officers of the court who abuse their office and powers should be held financially and criminally responsible. We need lawyer and judge reform far more than police reform!

So you are not allowed to defend yourself against a mob that smashes down a gate and enters private property that is clearly marked as such.

Just-US anyone? Criminals are now victims and victims are now criminals. One can safely bet if the couple defending their property was black, this wouldn't be an issue. And once again, we are confronted with the two tier system of Just-Us and Justice.

I used to question why assault rifles are needed. Now I get it, just need to know where to get one.

Isn't that always the way - the thugs get a pass, and the victims who try to defend themselves get charged with a crime.

Gee, a prosecutor who doesn't know the law, or doesn't care! I should have known, without looking.
St. Louis is a democrat blue city, but the rest of Missouri is full of law-abiding, patriotic citizens, who understand the utility of firearms!

These “marchers” did not just “enter” the gated community. They smashed the gate and hurled insults at the homeowners. I would certainly feel anxious.....to say the very least. We have witnessed the mayhem and destruction these “peaceful protesters” leave in their wake. We have a right to defend our property.

May I add - what happened is public and documented, just what requires an investigation?

Sue every one including the governor. They are attorneys, go for it all. The next time you call 911, you will get a response.

Bring a mob, not "protestors, a mob down mt street and you will get the same response. A hissy fit around me or my neighbors is not a very good idea.

Can you imagine if an angry mob of whites broke down a private gate and threatened a black couple in their home? And then, the prosecutor blames the black couple instead of the white mob? Why that sounds like a scenario from the old days in the Democrat controlled South when mobs of KKK literally got away with murder.

I was explaining the MO castle laws to my wife last night and how we couldn't legally shoot until they pass through a door, here in CA. Until that point, if they torched the cars and killed the horses our only legal response would be a call to 911. Something is seriously wrong in many parts of America.

Had 4 or 5 of the thugs rushed the homeowner you would Have seen what the ar15 was made for.
It looked like one of the protestors was thinking about going up the sidewalk to have a back and forth with the homeowner. One of his fellow thugs talked him out of it.
Saved his life, probably.

When displaying a weapon, it is advisable not to point it at anything other than the ground until you decide to destroy something! The video showed terrible training...or no training in firearms use!

Nothing is going to be done to them, bet on it.
The wife has probably never handled a gun before that day. Very untrained and ignorant the way she held it and waved it about randomly. Untrained. Hubby has a least a touch of training, it would seem.
In this pic, the first clear one, it looks like a really cheapo Jennings or Raven .25 auto she is holding....they sold for $40 or so in the 80s, not impressive in any way. He has an older model AR-15, looks like an early 1980s version from sights and handguard design. Neither of those weapons were likely bought recently, I'd estimate.

The lawyers error was to show the guns that they had. You never show someone your gun. When the other person crosses the line, you shoot them. Dead. That is the only time they get to see your gun.

An essential element to some crimes that are being explored may require the guns to have been loaded, and the DA likely can't prove they were since the couple has 5th Amendment rights. The DA is a Soros-backed lunatic. People need to figure out what DAs Soros is backing and throw their weight behind the opponent where it's feasible.

Seem to recall reports of property owners being charged with "brandishing"
for being in possession of a holstered sidearm on private property.
Anti-gunners always push the limits.
Forget not showing the weapon.
wait inside.
upper window.
good approach coverage.
when they cross the line, shoot to kill. so they can't sue you later.
it's their job to figure out where it came from,
who fired it,
and how to shoot them back.
Never expose yourself to counter-fire, or publicity.

The Prosecutor figures on making the Process the Punishment.
Take this couple and run 'em through the legal wringer..... maybe a 'Roger Stone' style arrest, Unobtainium level of bail, solitary confinement in small concrete cells, drag it out, drag it out, drag it out, the couple are both attorneys, so attack their law licenses, and make sure EVERYBODY in the Nation has the story Jammed Down Their Throat.
Let ol' White Boy know that he had Better Not Stand Up For Himself!

The good news is that, despite all the claims, they didn't "defend themselves" at all. They showed a willingness and the hardware necessary to defend themselves, and nobody tried to push it any farther.
That sort of deterrent is excellent. I hope to make it all the way to my coffin having not ever shot a human being, but one cannot guarantee that the bad guys will permit that. Remember "the enemy gets a vote".

#6, I am pretty sure she has a nickel or chrome plated 25 Auto, looks like it might be a Raven, possibly a Jennings. Both real cheapos, mostly zinc castings, like $40 new in the 80s when last made. Could possibly be a better grade like a Browning or Colt, but does not look like them. Looks like the Raven.
