In the wake of questions about where his family has been staying during the statewide stay-at-home order, Gov. JB Pritzker on Friday said he’s been protective of his wife and children’s privacy, out of fear for their safety.(Snip) Pritzker had refused to answer questions on the issue until Friday, when he said his wife and daughter had been in Florida before he issued the stay-at-home order. The governor said they sheltered in place there until recently, when they returned home. He said they’re now at a “working farm” the family owns in Wisconsin, taking care of the horses there.

His "spokesperson" now says his family is in Chicago and that they just "visited" the farm in Wisconsin.. I guess someone finally told him that it was "bad optics" for his family to have fled to two states that are managing the virus better than Illinois.

I have often posted that Democrats are born without the Math gene (thus the endless giveaways and debt). But now I see that they are doubly handicapped at birth...no Logic gene too. Pritzker apparently can't comprehend that every reason he uses to explain the validity of why it was OK for HIS family to not stay quarantined in Illinois also would apply to any other husband/father concerned about their own family. Or is that "different" because such others aren't billionaires or Democrat Governors? (Perhaps in his mind he assumes he has such a more elevated level of Logic that he can perceive such case-differentiating nuances that others simply can't see.)

Democrat governors are tracing their constituency whereabouts, encourage snitches, so surely we should know where the governor and family are. I think we should send the IRS over to audit their tax returns. And the EPA, OSHO, Equal employment, ATF, and other agencies should be sent by to sent compliance with federal regulations. The police should be following these governors to ensure they maintain safe speeds, don't change lanes, anything that might endanger the public---all for the governor's safety.

He has his family stashed someplace safe, and they are probably enjoying themselves on the taxpayer's dime too. This governor is another who is disgusting. We have every right to know Governor, if you want the anonymity of a private citizen, resign the office. You are in the public eye, and your reaction to the critics tells me you are up to no good, and on the taxpayer dime as well.

Oh... so they WERE in Florida, where the governor just reopened the beaches - but THEN they went to Wisconsin, where the stay-hidden order was overturned by the Supreme Court so people can resume their lives - so the Prickster’s family could live free instead of being restricted in Illinois. Typical libtards - do as I say, not as I do.

A suspected looter has been shot dead outside a pawn shop after protests over the death of George Floyd descended into chaos Wednesday night and rioters vandalized stores across the city. Minneapolis Department Police Chief John Elder confirmed in a midnight press conference that one person was shot and killed and that another person was being held in custody. (Snip) Stores including Wendy's, Target, Walmart and AutoZone were looted, ransacked and some set alight before rioters tried to bust open an ATM, as many ignored pleas from the Floyd family's lawyer and Minnesota Governor Walz to protest peacefully Wednesday night. Medicare recipients will be able to get prescription plans that limit copays for insulin, a potential savings of hundreds of dollars, the White House announced Tuesday in a pivot to pocketbook issues that could influence November's election. The new benefit — to be formally unveiled at a Rose Garden event Tuesday afternoon — is being touted as a major accomplishment by Trump administration officials eager to change the subject from the grim drumbeat of coronavirus pandemic news. Older adults who pick a drug plan offering the new insulin benefit would pay a maximum of $35 a month starting next year, a savings estimated at $446 annually.

A Memorial Day rally calling for an end to the Illinois stay-at-home order was broken up early by Chicago Police. Organizers on Monday gathered at Buckingham Fountain, calling the order to fight the coronavirus pandemic unconstitutional and demanding a reopening. Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Chicago Police both said they respect First Amendment rights, but the rally posed a public health risk. The mayor tweeted “Regarding today’s large unpermitted gathering at Millennium Park: while we respect 1st amendment rights, this gathering posed an unacceptable health risk and was dispersed. No matter where in the city you live, no one is exempt from @GovPritzker’s stay-at-home order.”

A big construction project at Gov. JB Pritzker’s Wisconsin horse farm has some questioning whether the governor is honoring the spirit of his own stay-at-home order. FOX 32 News watched Thursday as construction workers from Illinois crossed the border to work on the governor’s farm. Pritzker, though, says there is no double standard because construction workers are exempt. FOX 32 wandered over the Wisconsin border into Kenosha County and found more than 20 construction workers -- nearly all from Illinois -- helping build a massive new home and several outbuildings on Pritzker's horse farm

Miller said he is not alone in his decision, and that the economic risk is worth it for the safety of his employees and his customers. Restaurants will be allowed to open for outdoor dining in the next phase of Illinois' reopening plan - and that's good news for some that are struggling to survive. The federal government has already sent a one-time check of up to $1,200 to millions of American families, but according to Mark Cuban, the stimulus is not enough to offset the economic pain of the coronavirus pandemic. The billionaire entrepreneur proposed the government issue $1,000 checks to every American household every two weeks for the next two months, with the caveat that the money must be spent within 10 days of receipt or it expires. It would cost about $500 billion, Cuban estimated. (Snip) "It's time to face the fact that PPP didn't work. Great plan, difficult execution. No one's fault.
