GALLUP, N.M.  – A New Mexico hospital is under siege tonight in one of the state’s biggest coronavirus hot spots. Healthcare workers in McKinley County said they are struggling in an environment that is unsafe for workers and patients. State Senator George Muñoz said the hospital recently lost its only pulmonologist, who monitors people on ventilators. Everyone requiring that care was flown out. More workers said they are on their way out too as they are overworked and understaffed. Nurses and doctors are the frontline workers fighting COVID-19. “That is who we take care of, our community,” one healthcare worker said. In hard-hit McKinley County, Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital is filled

Comments:

NW New Mexico is getting hit hard right now. I live in San Juan County, the county north of McKinley, and we are seeing the chicom virus numbers exploding in our counties. Most of it is due to it being out of control on the Navajo reservation.

They need the US military to come flying in with medical personnel and effective hospital operations.

And some of the latest news out there indicates that ventilators are actually NOT what is needed, but in fact, they are ultimately killing people.

How many COVID-19 patients have they treated? How many now? My guess is that the numbers are low, and that the total number of patients in the hospital is 50% below normal. Their revenue is way down, forcing the hospital director to fire half the workforce. So stop crying over milk not spilt

But gov't is throwing money around like it's Mardi Gras beads. Gotta be in position to catch some. Look for entire cities to suddenly become so overwhelmed. Did we do this when Y2K hit? That was expensive too, and everybody had to prepare.

Isn't Gallup where the mayor said he was re-opening weeks early from the lock down a few weeks back? Perhaps that didn't go so well. I remember the governor blocking the roads do and from Gallup, I think.

This whole thing in NM has been poorly managed by the governor who lacks common sense. The town that wanted to reopen is Grants. There's a lot of upheaval going on from several counties that were not touched by the virus and were forced to comply with the extended lock down. The state of New Mexico has not heard the last of this. Better call Saul! Also a definite campaign issue for the 2020 election, especially since we have a vacant senate seat to fill. One of our back bench senators that nobody has heard of is retiring...Senator Udall, who became senator because of his last name that had nothing to do with NM. If only the Republicans can find a strong candidate, somebody with a lot of money, a loud voice and a Hispanic last name could win it.

Thank you, #7 for the correction. I have relatives in ABQ and went there and Los Alamos on business before I retired, but I don't know the rest of the state well, had mistaken one "G-city" for another. I'll have to get out a map and look up Gallup.

Well obviously the lockdown isn't working if there are still hotspots emerging. Plus we've heard that 2/3 of the new ChiCom Virus patients in NY are those that stayed at home observing the lockdown. Might as well cancel the lockdown. It seems pointless.

A ban on oil and gas leasing on federal land could have dire consequences for New Mexico and the U.S. fossil fuel industry, as such a move was proposed by presidential hopeful and former-Vice President Joe Biden. Biden, who was nominated by the Democratic Party to challenge President Donald Trump in November’s election, previously announced that if elected President he would work to gradually phase out the leasing of federal public land to the oil and gas industry.

FARMINGTON – A natural health store in Farmington has received community backlash in person and on social media after posting an anti-Black Lives Matter and Antifa sign, asking supporters of those groups to shop somewhere else. Wildly Natural Foods posted a sign earlier this week that said, “If you support ANTIFA and/or BLM please shop elsewhere.” When Sam Bibo, a resident of Durango for the last eight years, saw the sign posted on Facebook, she asked family friends who live in Farmington to visit the store to see if it was true.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New data from Johns Hopkins University shows that the Navajo Nation is now leading the nation in COVID-19 cases per capita. According to the data, the Navajo Nation has 2,304 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people. In comparison, New York has a rate of 1,806 per 100,000. New Jersey follows at 1,668 cases per 100,000. Much of the Navajo Nation lacks water and electrical utilities. At a time when disinfecting and hyper sanitation is critical to fight the virus, many homes don’t even have the basic infrastructure of running water.

To understand why Mayor Nate Duckett wants Farmington, N.M., to reopen while the governor wants it shut, it helps to know something about what he calls his city’s “death spiral.” Perched in a rural corner of northwest New Mexico, Farmington watched its wealth vanish as its oil and gas industries went elsewhere. Its population is one of the fastest-shrinking in America. What keeps the lights on in Farmington is a coal-fired power plant whose fate remains uncertain. And all of that was before the virus leveled what remained of Farmington’s economy.

As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
