PGA Tour golfer Davis Love III and his wife escaped unharmed from a huge fire which burnt their house to the ground. The former USA Ryder Cup team captain - who led the US to victory in 2016 - was inside the property in Sea Island, Georgia, with spouse Robin when it caught ablaze in the middle of the night. Glynn County Firefighters were called to tackle the fire at 5:18am, but the house was already destroyed when the first truck arrived at 5:23am. Chief of the precinct R.K. Houses don't normally catch fire in the middle of the night just like restaurant kitchens don't suddenly start burning at 4:00 am. Highly suspicious. Fire trucks arrived within five minutes of the call and the house was already gone. I wonder what his earnings were last year? "Should I call the fire department, honey?" "Nah, give it a little while to really get going."

I’m a little taken back with the idea that the fire was not accidental, according to the previous poster. One thing would be telling; if none of his trophies and memorabilia suffered any damage. If he truly lost everything, including irreplaceable family photos; then I’d vote for accident. I just don’t see Davis Love III as an arsonist.

That had to have been terrifying for them. Just glad they are okay. I sure hope this isn't going to be an insurance scam. I bet the Fire Marshal is gonna go over this with an extremely fine toothed comb.

I was just wondering what happened between when the house "caught ablaze in the middle of the night" and 5:18am when firefighters were called. Chalk it up to inaccuracies in the reporting?

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam joined a growing number of states in issuing a stringent "stay at home" order on Monday, telling residents to remain in their homes except for essential purposes until June 10. Many states and municipalities across the country have already issued stay at home or "shelter in place" orders as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread rapidly. Announcing the executive order on Monday, Northam said: "I want to be clear: Do not go out unless you need to go out. This is very different than wanting to go out." The executive order from Northam, a Democrat, is

Macy’s said the majority of its employees will be furloughed beginning this week as it copes with significant sales losses during the coronavirus pandemic. The retailer declined to say how many employees will be affected by the furloughs. It said it’s lost most of its sales, even as it remains open online, and that’s why cost cuts are necessary. Macy’s is one of dozens of retailers that have been forced to close stores to slow the spread of the coronavirus in the U.S. All of its stores have been closed since March 18, and it has not decided when it

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — With the coronavirus quickly spreading in Washington state in early March, leaders of the Skagit Valley Chorale debated whether to go ahead with weekly rehearsal. The virus was already killing people in the Seattle area, about an hour’s drive to the south. But Skagit County hadn’t reported any cases, schools and business remained open, and prohibitions on large gatherings had yet to be announced. On March 6, Adam Burdick, the choir’s conductor, informed the 121 members in an email that amid the “stress and strain of concerns about the virus,” practice would proceed as scheduled at

In the Chinese city of Wuhan, the wet market that spawned the pandemic which has brought the world to its knees now slumbers quietly behind a tidy-looking blue-and-white partition. But there are ample clues that something toxic once lurked inside the Huanan Seafood Market -- police tape, chest-high red barriers, and staff in head-to-toe white hazmat suits lugging equipment. The NYPD is investigating what might be the city’s first coronavirus-related homicide — after a woman hit an elderly Brooklyn hospital patient in the head for violating social distancing, sources said Sunday. Victim Janie Marshall, 86, died less than four hours after the tense confrontation with 32-year-old Cassandra Lundy in Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Woodhull Hospital, cops said. Former Vice President Joe Biden has emerged as Democrats’ top choice for the presidential nomination in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, but with only bare majority support within his party and a massive enthusiasm gap in a November matchup against President Donald Trump. Indeed, strong enthusiasm for Biden among his supporters – at just 24% – is the lowest on record for a Democratic presidential candidate in 20 years of ABC/Post polls. More than twice as many of Trump’s supporters are highly enthusiastic about supporting him, 53%. Trump’s still-strong rating on the economy is another challenge for Biden. So

SANTA FE, N.M. — As the coronavirus rages across the United States, mainly in large urban areas, more than a third of U.S. counties have yet to report a single positive test result for COVID-19 infections, an analysis by The Associated Press shows. Data compiled by John Hopkins University shows that 1,297 counties have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 out of 3,142 counties nationwide. Of the counties without positive tests, 85% are in rural areas — from predominantly white communities in Appalachia and the Great Plains to majority Hispanic and Native American stretches of the American Southwest — that generally have less everyday

You’ve probably heard the expression those who can, do, and those who can’t, teach. A Rhode Island public school teacher perhaps gave that chestnut a new meaning by allegedly taking to Twitter with an offer to pay someone infected with COVID-19 to cough on President Trump. The educator in question, who has subsequently deactivated her Twitter account that purportedly operated anonymously under the handle “Proud Teacher,” is said to teach English as a Second Language to middle schoolers. She previously taught in neighboring Massachusetts. [Tweet] There is no indication as yet as to whether public school administrators will look into this matter further with an eye toward possible discipline.

Chutzpah is a Yiddish word meaning incredible audacity. The most famous example is the man who murders both his parents and then throws himself on the mercy of the court because he’s an orphan. Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle is Jewish, and it’s doubtful if they even know the meaning of the word “chutzpah,” but they’ve sure got it – and Trump was not amused. One of the things that was immediately obvious about Meghan Markle was that she was “woke.” That is, in keeping with her “B” level actress status, she eagerly copied all the political shibboleths of the big Leftist stars

How nervous are some Democrats about Joe Biden's chances against President Trump this November? Nervous enough to entertain the notion that another Democrat, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, might swoop in and save the day. Cuomo, who has been governor for nearly a decade and has one of the most famous names in Democratic politics, found new prominence when his state became the epicenter of the coronavirus crisis in the United States. In February and March, some New York officials urged the public to maintain regular activities even as the virus took hold in the state, leading to the worst outbreak in the country.

Gov. Cuomo for veep? Well, never say never — but it’s unlikely. Yes, the governor is up to his neck in five-star reviews for his management of the coronavirus crisis. His TV presence radiates calm competence. Clearly, he has gotten the poetry of governance in a maelstrom right; whether he is on top of the prose of it remains to be seen, but it certainly seems so. And of such stuff are political superstars born. So it’s no surprise that people are talking him up as a potential partner to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. If ever a candidacy needed a belt of Red Bull, it’s Biden’s.
