Acclaimed actor from "The Exorcist" "Star Wars" and "Game of Thrones," Max von Sydow, has died at age 90. Representatives for the star confirmed to Fox News that the star died on Sunday, March 8, 2020, but did not comment on any official cause of death. “It is with a broken heart and with infinite sadness that we have the extreme pain of announcing the departure of Max von Sydow,” a statement from his wife, Catherine, reads. Throughout his decades-long career, the Swedish actor lent his talents to film, TV and voiceover,  (Snip) Perhaps one of his most memorable roles, though, was as Father Merrin, the priest who arrives to exorcise the demon from a young girl in the horror classic “The Exorcist.”

Comments:

I always liked Max von Sydow, I never saw him playing any stupid roles. One of my favorite films with him is the Tom Cruise thriller Minority Report where Max plays a surprise heavy role. Recommend this flick if only to see Max at his best.

Good grief, they mention crap like Star Wars and Game of Thrones, then as sort of an afterthought they mention the classic work he did with Bergman. Millenials and their younger siblings controlling the entertainment reporting is just plain stupid.

He also played Jesus in 1965. But he was so great in the Exorcist. Loved that shot of him appearing at the house in the dark.

I remember when he did the Mueslix breakfast cereal commercials and the Second City Television crew made parodies of him about that. It was hilarious. He was a very good actor and will be missed.

He was wonderful in all those Bergman films I saw in college. But my favorite movie with him was Flash Gordon. He was great in that. Mariangela Melato, who had a fabulous voice, was his general. See her sing in So Fine about the fashion world and clear vinyl jeans' rear ends. These greats are not being replaced by talent, just faces.

He must have finally lost his chess game with death ("The Seventh Seal") which has been parodied forever, including when Bill and Ted confess they don't know how to play chess so of course they play Battleship.

It has become a more common occurrence as DeSantis has increased his national profile, some think with an eye toward running for the presidency in 2024.

Pete Carroll said NFL owners should "stop living in their own universe" and get more comfortable with minority coaches that don’t look like them during a session at the league’s annual meeting in Palm Beach last month and that’s exactly what the NFL has mandated will happen. The league last week sent out a memo to all clubs announcing that 32 "diverse, prospective club-nominated head coach and general manager prospects will have networking opportunities with club and league office executives" at the NFL’s spring meeting on May 23 and 24. The memo doesn’t say it, but it’s simply a fact: No white males will be included.

The San Francisco Police Department confirmed during a press conference on Friday evening that Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was somehow able to call 911 before being attacked with a hammer, allowing dispatch to respond. Police Chief William Scott said when officers arrived Paul Pelosi and the attacker were standing in the entryway to the home, each holding onto the hammer. Confirmation that Paul Pelosi made a 911 call came after media reports said he had secretly called 911 so that the intruder would not know and spoke in a way that would alert the dispatcher to what was happening without giving himself away.
