Climate change: Electrical industry's 'dirty secret' boosts warming

Original Article

It's the most powerful greenhouse gas known to humanity, and emissions have risen rapidly in recent years, the BBC has learned. Sulphur hexafluoride, or SF6, is widely used in the electrical industry to prevent short circuits and accidents. But leaks of the little-known gas in the UK and the rest of the EU in 2017 were the equivalent of putting an extra 1.3 million cars on the road.

Think Wind energy is clean ? Think again. This applies to solar plants as well. Don't start me on battery disposal Greta.

The dirty secret is that 99.99999999% of the warming, when there is any, is from the SUN!!!!!!! Just read a scientific article last week indicating that the sun is going into a down cycle with sun spots / activity that could last until 2050, which indicates cooling until 2050 - so the morons on the "green new deal" will claim they are having an impact.

So many questions that are not asked 1) do y’all warmists heat your homes? Cook? Travel? Order from Amazon? 2) should earth’s temperature remain the same or should it fluctuate? 3) in determining the ‘correct’ temperature, which species are favored? 3.5) who says glaciers weren’t meant to shrink? Or grow? 3.5)) would you have preferred that the dinosaurs had stuck around? What’d they do wrong? 4) when y’all are satisfied with the temperature you’ve chosen for the rest of us, will you shut up?

Any attempt to ban SF6 would seriously harm our military. It's used in things like radar waveguides, torpedo propulsion systems, and underwater acoustic countermeasures. But for the greenies, that's a feature, not a bug.

CO2, SF6, Methane. Greenhouse gases all per the definition of greenhouse gases. BUT the most prevalent "greenhouse gas" in the atmosphere by a huge measure is good old H2O, That's water vapor for those who flunked chemistry. The surface of the earth is 75% water covered. If the Chicken Little climate alarmists could just find a way to outlaw evaporation the whole climate problem would be solved. And summers in Central and South Texas would be a damn sight more tolerable.

it's also used to diecast magnesium - to prevent it from blowing up. SF6 is off the charts compared to CO2 as an infrared absorber; fortunately, it is pretty rare. none of the uses of SF6 are frivolous - all necessary for our way of life.

Washington—Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh drew bipartisan condemnation Thursday for saying the country won’t elect Pete Buttigieg president because he’s been “kissing his husband” on stage after debates. Limbaugh’s comments came eight days after President Donald Trump awarded him the nation’s top civilian honor during the State of the Union address. The president said, among other things, that the tribute recognized the millions of people a day the host speaks to and inspires. Limbaugh, a staunch Trump ally who recently announced he has advanced lung cancer, made the remarks on his nationally syndicated radio show. Buttigieg has finished in the top

The Senate approved a bipartisan measure Thursday limiting President Donald Trump's authority to launch military operations against Iran. Eight Republicans joined with Democrats to pass the resolution by a 55-45 vote. The rebels were Lamar Alexander; Bill Cassidy; Susan Collins; Mike Lee; Jerry Moran; Lisa Murkowski; Rand Paul; and Todd Young. The measure, authored by Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., says Trump must win approval from Congress before engaging in further military action against Iran.

MORRISTOWN, N.J.—Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, the former National Security Council aide and impeachment witness President Donald Trump fired Friday, was just doing his job, former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told students and guests at a Drew University event here Wednesday night. Over a 75-minute speech and Q&A session, Kelly laid out, in the clearest terms yet, his misgivings about Trump’s words and actions regarding North Korea, illegal immigration, military discipline, Ukraine, and the news media.

In an exclusive interview, Attorney General Bill Barr told ABC News on Thursday that President Donald Trump "has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case” but should stop tweeting about the Justice Department because his tweets “make it impossible for me to do my job.” Barr’s comments are a rare break with a president who the attorney general has aligned himself with and fiercely defended. But it also puts Barr in line with many of Trump’s supporters on Capitol Hill who say they support the president but wish he’d cut back on his tweets.

Former first lady Michelle Obama will soon have a second California school as her namesake. In a unanimous vote, the West Contra Costa Unified School District Board decided to change the name of Wilson Elementary School to Michelle Obama Elementary School. The idea was first proposed when the PTA sent a letter to the school board, the school board said. Two ad hoc meetings received unanimous support from parents, students and community leaders. "We wanted to choose someone on a global level," Wilson PTA President Maisha Cole said. "With a new school and new learning environment, we want our children to think beyond Richmond, to think beyond California,

Joe Manchin thinks President Donald Trump abused his power and voted to remove him from office. But he also thinks Trump can still be a “tremendous president” and is eager to reconcile. The West Virginia Democratic senator surprised his Republican colleagues by denying Trump a bipartisan acquittal last week. But he can’t quit Trump entirely — and is even open to supporting Trump’s re-election campaign. “I don’t rule anything out. I really don’t rule anything out,” Manchin said

An Alabama Democrat state lawmaker from Birmingham has introduced legislation that, if passed would mandate, “every Alabama man to undergo a vasectomy within one month of his 50th birthday or the birth of his third biological child, whichever comes first,” according to a report from Alabama-based Yellowhammer News. The bill, filed by State Rep. Rolanda Hollis (D) on Thursday, is viewed by some a response to the 2019 passage by the state legislature of the Human Life Protection Act, a law that is currently making its way through the federal courts that ban abortion with very few exceptions.
