Maersk oil tanker caught at sea off Malta after rescuing 27 migrants

A Maersk oil tanker has been anchored off the coast of Malta for two weeks after rescuing 27 migrants, including a child and a pregnant woman, with authorities in Malta and Tunisia denying the vessel entry, the company said on Wednesday. The crew of Maersk Etienne, an oil tanker owned by Denmark's Maersk Tankers, rescued the migrants following a request from Maltese officials on August 4, the company said. The migrants' wooden dinghy that had been at sea for days sank immediately after the rescue operation, according to Maersk Tankers.

Comments:

When you are at sea and you receive an SOS in your vicinity, you stop what you are doing and respond. Reason is if you are in need of help ??? Simple. No seafarer would EVER not do anything in their power to rescue a vessel in distress. Immigrants or otherwise. The article is true. The resources on board are limited but I will guarantee that the crew will share. These people were lucky. You can get in trouble out there with nobody within 500 miles of you.

The "migrants" put themselves in harm's way by design, knowing that they will be brought into western nations and put on welfare. Their peril is caused by liberal social policies that offer such perks, and the international do-gooder agencies that coordinate such refugee transports in order to demographically transform Europe. Start returning all "migrants" to their point of origin and watch this stop.

I have been out of sight of land for days at a time, sailing a 39 foot sailboat. Yes, they should respond. But the "emergency" is intentionally created to play upon the good nature of Western culture. Yes. pick them up, and take them DIRECTLY to the nearest African port and unload them. Like the guy on the corner with the sign begging, if you offer them work or to buy them a meal, 99% will turn you down in disgust. These "migrants" want to bypass the immigration process to get to FREE STUFF in Europe so they can retire on "the dole".

Yes, the entire world is about politics. These folks set out for economic reasons to get to Europe because their country is a horrible place. They EXPECT foolish Europeans to take them in, feed them, house them and provide medical care for mothing. THAT is a political act.
