It’s still early and things can change fast, but several new polls show Bernie Sanders surging in Iowa and New Hampshire as well as nationally, as Warren continues to stumble, Biden continues to unimpress, and Buttigieg continues to ignore the propeller beanie hat stuck to his head. If Sanders sweeps Iowa and New Hampshire and surges in South Carolina and Nevada, he could become well nigh unstoppable. The Democratic establishment, such as it is, will move heaven and earth to stop Sanders, and given the wealth of material in Sanders’s history, you can expect the mainstream media will start running stories on “Just Who Is Bernie Sanders Anyway?”

As a very smart young rabbi, a graduate of Columbia University and Yeshiva University, I was quite confident of two things: (i) the inherent goodness of all people, and (ii) my own intelligence. As I subsequently learned in due time, that is the most lethal mix imaginable, a sure-fire path to self-destruction. Because of that mix, I married the wrong person, allowed myself to be induced to make the only two disastrous decisions that changed, altered, and ruined important aspects of my life’s journey, and ended up being cheated out of my first 20 years’ life’s savings. And then in 1990, after 10 successful years

Barack Obama called President Trump a “fascist” in a 2016 conversation with Hillary Clinton’s then-running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, a new docu-series on Clinton reveals. Obama told Kaine by phone, “Tim, remember, this is no time to be a purist. You’ve got to keep a fascist out of the White House,” Kaine says a clip included in the Hulu series, “Hillary,” NBC News reported. The quote is the latest revelation from the controversial series, which has also revealed that Clinton once said of Sen. Bernie Sanders, “Nobody likes him.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., won a key endorsement Saturday when Iowa’s largest newspaper announced that it will back her for the Democratic presidential nomination, just days before the state’s caucuses. “The senior U.S. senator from Massachusetts is not the radical some perceive her to be,” the Des Moines Register’s Editorial Board said. “She was a registered Republican until 1996. She is a capitalist.” The Register’s backing is a significant boost for Warren, whom polls suggest trails Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., former Vice President Joe Biden and former South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the state.

In case you haven’t heard, the original Bullitt Mustang, from the film “Bullitt,” just sold for a staggering $3.74 million. An anonymous bidder walked away with a piece of Hollywood history on wheels. The car’s name comes from the classic 1968 film “Bullitt.” In the movie, Det. Frank Bullitt, played by the iconic actor Steve McQueen, drove the Mustang as he solves a murder mystery. Described as a “Mona Lisa” car because it had long been thought of as lost to history, the Bullitt had sat hidden in a garage for four decades. It’s recent rediscovery made headlines and thrilled car enthusiasts.

His wife, a hero of sorts only in the TV series “Suits,” had hightailed it to Canada, leaving Harry Windsor, formerly known as Prince Harry, to deliver a concession speech. Make no mistake—no matter the moola they rake in, Harry and Meghan Markle have been sorely defeated and deflated. Gallantly has Harry tried since to make his subjects believe that it is he, not Meghan Markle—his meddlesome, divisive, American wife—who had attempted, and failed miserably, to outsmart Queen Elizabeth II. But the crass and callous rollout production, lacking in etiquette and contemptuous of royal protocol, fell flat. So deeply silly was the Sussexes’ Instagram statement,

Hillary Clinton promised in 2016 that she would make history, and she did. She lost a winnable election where she enjoyed every conceivable advantage over her opponent, including a roughly 2-to-1 edge in campaign spending. Clinton then went on to become the first failed nominee in modern American history who cannot manage to move on. John McCain returned to the Senate after his loss in 2008 to Barack Obama. John Kerry similarly went back to work in the Senate after the 2004 election and later joined Obama's administration. Al Gore still complains about losing in 2000 to George W. Bush,

Twenty-four hours of Democrats lies and bloviating was a bridge too far. Democrats lost their audience… literally. Even the Senate gallery was half-empty — FOR AN IMPEACHMENT! The Daily Mail reported: The Senate spectator gallery was unexpectedly half-empty throughout the first week of President Donald Trump’s historic impeachment trial. The Senate trial began on January 16 after Trump was impeached in the House on two articles stemming from accusations that he withheld military aid money from US ally Ukraine until they conducted an investigation into presidential hopeful Joe Biden. Republican Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma told New York Post: ‘I’m really surprised at that because this is kind of historic

Serial liar Adam Schiff laughably claimed on Saturday that he doesn’t even know who the whistleblower is. President Trump’s defense team completely destroyed 3 days’ of Adam Schiff’s lies in just two hours. GOP Senator John Barrasso said Schiff was so freaked out when Trump’s lawyers confronted him about his fake call and transcript that “the blood drained from Schiff’s face.“ The lashing was so bad that even CNN admitted President Trump is winning in the impeachment trial. Schiff, Nadler and other House impeachment managers looked defeated as they gathered around the lectern to respond to Trump’s lawyers and take questions from reporters.

From early in our nation’s history, America’s intellectuals have mostly looked down on their own country and yearned for it to be like someplace else–someplace more sophisticated, and more in tune with “modern” intellectual currents, whatever they might be at the moment. That is a long history, which I will skip over. In our own time, American intellectuals have claimed that Soviet Russia, Germany and Japan were harbingers of the future that the U.S. needed to imitate. In each case, the point was that we had to shed our archaic freedoms and enter the brave new world of central planning under the control–benign, of course!–of intellectuals and bureaucrats.
