Demagoguery of the Democrats

In the end the Democrats couldn’t help themselves. Their lead manager, Congressman Schiff, paused in the middle of his summation of the case against President Trump to say that CBS news reported that a “Trump confidant” claimed that “GOP senators were warned, ‘Vote against your President, vote against the President, and your head will be on a pike.’” It was a shocking error of judgment to say such a thing on the floor of the Senate. Mr. Schiff compounded his blunder by adding that he didn’t know whether the CBS report is true. “I don’t know whether that’s true,” is how he put it.

Because it was reported on CBS news, then, there might be some veracity to it.. The seriousness of the allegatione indicates that there must be an investigation! Who said this and who is the witness who heard it said and leaked it to the press? Heads should roll. We need to have an independent investigator to have unbiased evaluation of the merits of this charge. I can't believe this travesty, this criminality, will go unchecked and not investigated by the Department of Justice and the FBI. The President and his Attorney General, yet again, are stonewalling the American people. This will be the next article of impeachement!

If Schiff said it then this is the first sentence out of his mouth that has a grain of truth to it. Any republican senator who votes against Trump will almost certainly lose his next election because it will have been a vote against everything for which we stand. We are keeping score, as a famous doorknob once said.

The party of which not a single member in DC castigated Bill Clinton for keeping a girl less than half his age on her knees in the Oval Office and then lied about it to a grand jury, has no business whatsoever attacking anyone else’s character.

It is an old rule of journalism that it is better to get it right than to get it first. But after seeing how reporters reacted Sunday to news of retired NBA star Kobe Bryant's death, you could be forgiven for thinking that such a rule no longer exists, if it ever existed at all. The former Los Angeles Laker was among nine people killed Sunday morning in a helicopter crash in Southern California. The other victims include Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna, one of her teammates on her basketball team, the teammate’s parent, and the pilot. Those are the facts. During Elizabeth Warren’s campaign stop in Iowa on Monday, a man asked the presidential hopeful whether her student-loan debt-forgiveness plan would also reimburse people who had already paid for school. “My daughter is getting out of school,” he told Warren, while standing in her (what else!) selfie line. “I’ve saved all my money.” “She doesn’t have any student loans,” he continued. “Am I going to get my money back?” Warren immediately replied: “Of course not.” The man, unsurprisingly, was not satisfied with her answer. “So you’re going to pay for people who didn’t save any money and those of us who did the right thing get screwed?” he said.

It’s still early and things can change fast, but several new polls show Bernie Sanders surging in Iowa and New Hampshire as well as nationally, as Warren continues to stumble, Biden continues to unimpress, and Buttigieg continues to ignore the propeller beanie hat stuck to his head. If Sanders sweeps Iowa and New Hampshire and surges in South Carolina and Nevada, he could become well nigh unstoppable. The Democratic establishment, such as it is, will move heaven and earth to stop Sanders, and given the wealth of material in Sanders’s history, you can expect the mainstream media will start running stories on “Just Who Is Bernie Sanders Anyway?”

As I subsequently learned in due time, that is the most lethal mix imaginable, a sure-fire path to self-destruction. Because of that mix, I married the wrong person, allowed myself to be induced to make the only two disastrous decisions that changed, altered, and ruined important aspects of my life’s journey, and ended up being cheated out of my first 20 years’ life’s savings. Barack Obama called President Trump a “fascist” in a 2016 conversation with Hillary Clinton’s then-running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, a new docu-series on Clinton reveals. Obama told Kaine by phone, “Tim, remember, this is no time to be a purist. You’ve got to keep a fascist out of the White House,” Kaine says a clip included in the Hulu series, “Hillary,” NBC News reported. The quote is the latest revelation from the controversial series, which has also revealed that Clinton once said of Sen. Bernie Sanders, “Nobody likes him.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., won a key endorsement Saturday when Iowa’s largest newspaper announced that it will back her for the Democratic presidential nomination, just days before the state’s caucuses. “The senior U.S. senator from Massachusetts is not the radical some perceive her to be,” the Des Moines Register’s Editorial Board said. “She was a registered Republican until 1996. She is a capitalist.” The Register’s backing is a significant boost for Warren, whom polls suggest trails Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., former Vice President Joe Biden and former South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the state.

An anonymous bidder walked away with a piece of Hollywood history on wheels. The car’s name comes from the classic 1968 film “Bullitt.” In the movie, Det. Frank Bullitt, played by the iconic actor Steve McQueen, drove the Mustang as he solves a murder mystery. Described as a “Mona Lisa” car because it had long been thought of as lost to history, the Bullitt had sat hidden in a garage for four decades. It’s recent rediscovery made headlines and thrilled car enthusiasts.

After President Donald Trump's defense team presented their opening statement on Saturday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman and Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff (D-CA) took to Twitter to chide the president's legal team. After listening to the President’s lawyers opening arguments, I have three observations: They don’t contest the facts of Trump’s scheme. They’re trying to deflect, distract from, and distort the truth. And they are continuing to cover it up by blocking documents and witnesses. — Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) January 25, 2020

Hillary Clinton promised in 2016 that she would make history, and she did. She lost a winnable election where she enjoyed every conceivable advantage over her opponent, including a roughly 2-to-1 edge in campaign spending. On January 27, 1945, the Red Army took control of Auschwitz away from the Nazis, where more than one million Jewish victims were liquidated that comprised roughly 1/6 of all the murders committed during the Holocaust. Unlike the Operation Reinhard death camps of Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec, Majdankek, and Chelmo, which saw almost two million murders combined, Auschwitz functioned as both a concentration and a death camp. After the Operation Reinhard death camps had largely exterminated Polish Jewry by 1943, and since they had started to become a liability with the war effort swinging in favor of the Red Army, Auschwitz, located farther to the west, began killing more
