Harvard says Asians have bad

Some 52 years after Martin Luther King Jr’s death and one week after the three-day weekend for which he is now remembered, Harvard says it discriminates against people with bad personalities. After all, what good is knowledge, morality and dreams if you’re no fun? To the fun-loving bureaucrats running Harvard, personality is measurable by your skin color and your sex life. They believe that good personalities are found in blacks, Hispanics, gays, transgenders, whites and just about everyone else, in roughly that order. Except Asians. Harvard says Asians have bad personalities. And so to be admitted, Asians need an SAT score about 140 points higher than whites

We live in a community that has a high Asian population. These are upmarket Asians, from Hongkong and Taiwan, who hustled over here to protect themselves and their money. Many have large homes. They drive luxury cars (as do their kids - these cars seem to be the high school graduation present of choice). There are some lower class ones who are like the noisy, sometimes rude persons one encounters in Mainland China, but most here are educated and quite refined. They are quiet and they pretty much stay with their own. Their personalities are quite different from ours. The parents are very big on education. Their kids excel in school and the library across from the high school is packed with them after school. Studying. What exactly does Harvard expect? Flagrant activism? Or are they simply racists? Why does anyone care?

Asians are so much brighter than most blacks ( and whites, come to that) that they would pretty much keep blacks out of Harvard altogether, ruining their "diversity." And my bet is that Harvard will have to raise the bar even farther than just 140 points higher than whites.

I'm curious. The judge doesn't believe a person can be both intelligent and have a good personality. Which one does she excel at? Based upon her decision, I am guessing she has a heck of a personality.

Here is the problem that Harvard is up against... They are basically stating that affirmation action is needed for anyone who is NOT Asian. So, how does Harvard come up with a way to include whites in their affirmative action admissions? They have to blame it on an Asian personality syndrome. Fact is, if SAT's alone were the criteria for admission to institutions of higher learning, Asians would take a higher percentage of the top spots as a function of their simple numbers. It would stack up like this - Asians, Whites, Hispanics, Blacks. Since whites and Hispanics were never enslaved... something else has to be the problem... GOT IT! It's a personality thing. I frankly think schools have a right to judge character before taking a student... but it is funny to watch the logical twists and turns needed to make it fit the 'woke' universe.

I am surprised that anyone still wants to send their kids to that expensive indoctrination school. From what I have read about their grade inflation, I am not sure people are getting the quality education they are paying big bucks for. Harvard appears to be coasting on its reputation these days. You can probably get a better education at your local community college.

You all realize India is part of Asia? My high school kids fro India- 4.5 gpa- get flat out rejected from top tier schools because there are too many Asians.. it is complete discrimination- males hardest hit. All these elitist tout acceptance rate, but many don’t tout their the completion rate.. why! acceptance to a top tier school solely to fill out ‘diversity’ of ethnicity takes merit based acceptance and flips the finger at hard work..

I don’t think it’s personality. It’s culture. If you’ve ever been shoved out of the way by an Asian tourist trying to get a photo with a selfie stick you probably aren’t too crazy about their culture either. I’ve lost count of the number of times this has happened to me.

Decades ago a detailed study regarding "muscles for facial movements" was reported by some very serious scientists. The big finding was that Japanese had about half the number of muscles "for smiling" as were normal outside of East Asia. So, a poor smile is now a "bad personality". Fine, but the top scholars who will go on to be the finest physicians and medical researchers will NOT be attending Harvard, but that's OK. I prefer the BEST, not the smiliest when it comes to dentists, cardiologists, oncologists, opthamologists, etc. On, on SAT scores ~ way back in the day ~ I was one point short of a PERFECT SAT. That led to all the big East Coast schools trying to recruit me. I rejected them. Too pushy. Then, 4 years later, Harvard sent me an invitation to attend their lawschool ~ when I did a perfect LSAT. For some people they're not picky, but they didn't come up with a good offer so I rejected them again. Pushy, and thuggish bunch. And their athletic teams are still punk. They abandoned the pursuit of excellence decades ago.

Harvard is no longer a school. It's a brand, and that's why we see it behaving like we might expect from, say, Apple or The Gap. Fine, but a brand can live off it's long-gone quality reputation for only so long. Harvard is living on borrowed time.

It’s a fair question, given the criticism directed at Trump in this viral election year. The short answer is, we’d have more American coronavirus deaths. Here’s why. The infection rate in America is much lower than in most developed countries. In America, it’s currently about 400 cases per million population. In Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany and France, it’s 1,500, 1,600, 1600, 700 and 600, respectively.

The “Rumble in the Jungle” was the 1974 boxing match in Zaire between two of the greats: An aging, slowing Muhammed Ali and the younger, stronger, harder-punching George Foreman. Ali repeatedly let Foreman back him into the ropes. There, most of Foreman’s blows were deflected or absorbed by Ali’s arms which were bruised black and blue the next day. Ali allowed his body to recoil against the ropes like shock absorbers to absorb much of the rest. That continued into the seventh round when Foreman landed a knockout punch to Ali. Except it failed knock him out. Ali leaned into Foreman and whispered, “That all you got, George?”

They do so while simultaneously decrying the use of fossil fuels by others, in order to buy indulgences from the global warming priests.

The Democrat leaders and candidates blasted President Trump’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak, just as they blast everything else that he does. Note that the Dems’ criticism of Trump’s response to the virus is unaccompanied by any specific suggestions. They do suggest spending more money on the problem, though they don’t say how. Maybe they think they can curry favor with the virus by buying it free stuff. More likely, they’re just politically posturing. If Trump requests $2 billion to fight the virus, they say it should be $8 billion. If Trump had suggested $8 billion, I’m sure they would have said it should be $20 billion.

Prosecutors these days don’t need to prove that the defendant committed an illegal act. Unencumbered by any judge or jury, prosecutors have the power to ruin people’s lives for the “crime” of what they say or think. That’s what’s happening in the high-profile, politically-tinged cases of Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Michael Avenatti and others. In the case of Flynn, the former National Security Advisor, the FBI decided beforehand to downplay their interview of him by presenting it almost as a social call.

The local lefties, which is to say nearly the whole town, have decided to throw more taxpayer money at ending the homelessness epidemic here. “Epidemic” is of course a relative term. Anecdotal and observational evidence suggests that this very, very rich town of 6,500 people holds exactly one homeless person. Everyone calls him “The Homeless Guy.”

I always loved Neandertals, and now I know why. I’m one of them. Neandertals were of course the people who evolved in Eurasia from several groups of hominids that migrated out of Africa beginning around two million years ago. They’re named after the place their bones were first found, the Neander Valley in present Germany. Compared to modern humans, Neandertals were stockier with heavier facial features. Primitive anthropologists early in the last century stereotyped them as primitive cavemen. But later research revealed that they used fire, made tools, navigated boats, created art, practiced religion and ceremonially buried their dead. They could speak as well as we can.

We now witness the spectacle of the Democratic left siding with Iran and its vanquished, mass-murdering general cum terrorist. Because Trump. It’s a case of simple-minded “My enemy’s enemy is my friend.” The left views Trump as their enemy. So does Iran. Therefore, goes the reasoning of the Dem left, Iran is their friend. Consider for a moment the character of the Dems’ new-found “friend.” Iran is a corrupt, centrally planned and crony capitalism economy wrapped in a theocracy right out of the Dark Ages. They stone women for adultery, chop off the hands of shoplifters and execute children. This friendship between Iran and the Dems is part of that epidemic

The “death to” slogan began in Iran in the days of the Shah. It wasn’t enough to depose the Shah. They wanted “death to” him. After the Shah died, gleeful Iranians evidently concluded that it was their sloganeering that killed him. They weaponized this discovery with other slogans similar in hateful meaning but not in lethal effect. Think “death to America” and then “death to Israel.” Other countries such as Yemen joined in the chorus and expanded it. Soon it was “death to America, death to Israel and damnation to the Jews.” That was off-putting to Israelis,
