Americans who oppose large-scale immigration are “snakes and vermin,” says one of the most moderate columnists at the New York Times. The glib dismissal of ordinary Americans came from columnist Tom Edsall who has been warning progressives since 2016 they should listen to the concerns of ordinary Americans. But Edsall has apparently cracked under the stress of defending his fellow Americans from his radically “woke” elite peers, and he claimed on December 11: [Donald] Trump’s genius in 2016 lay in his willingness — indeed, his eagerness — to openly and aggressively unleash the forces of racial and ethnic hostility that Republican elites

Representative John Ratcliffe is one of only three republican members of congress [the only one remaining (Gowdy, Goodlate gone)] who has seen all of the classified material evidence behind the FISA application and the intelligence abuses in 2016. In this interview Ratcliffe outlines the scale and scope of the abuses as well as what they mean in the context of corrupt and illegal DOJ and FBI activity. The takeaway from this interview with Bartiromo is exactly why senators who participated with the intelligence operation to remove and eliminate President Trump blocked Ratcliffe’s nomination to the position of Director of National Intelligence. Chinese President Xi Jinping has reiterated his support for Hong Kong's embattled leader even as he declared that the former British colony has faced its 'grimmest and most complex year' since its return to China. Xi praised Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam for holding fast to the principle of 'one country, two systems,' and for her courage and commitment during an 'extraordinary period' for Hong Kong, where Lam has faced harsh criticism for how she has handled months of fiery anti-government protests. Lam briefed Xi and Premier Li Keqiang during her first visit to Beijing since pro-democracy candidates swept local Hong Kong elections

Google has been forced to pause the rollout of the latest update to its Chrome web browser due to concerns that a bug is wiping people’s data. Chrome 79 is the latest version of the world’s most popular web browser, which is used by more than 1 billion people. The bug appears to only affect apps that use Android’s built-in WebView – a feature that allows users to view web pages within an app. Some apps, such as DuckDuckGo rely entirely on WebView in order to operate. Google developers admitted the fault in a bug report on Friday, revealing that the issue related to file migration from Chrome 78 to Chrome 79.

The Marine Corps last month reportedly commissioned a comprehensive study to examine the benefits and potential pitfalls of moving to more integrated training of male and female Marines. CBS “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan asked Durbin about Page being treated “unfairly.”“Does the U.S. government owe Carter Page an apology?” she quizzed.“I can certainly tell you based on what we saw, they do,” Durbin replied. “And here’s the bottom line: many of us have been looking at this …

I'm starting to watch the reaction to this Tessa Majors murder case like a slo-mo car crash. I noted the other day that the New York Times was pretty obnoxious to the Barnard University college student who was murdered in a dangerous park outside Columbia University, largely by trying to define victim's entire life by her green hair and liking for punk rock, as if kids don't go through stages. Kind of harsh to define someone that way at the grand sendoff... And far from being 'worldly' as the Times quoted someone as saying, those kinds of things are childish, and yes, the victim was in fact very young and naive.

In 1947, over President Harry Truman’s veto, Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act. In doing so, it put an end to a long-since-forgotten era of labor unrest and paved the way to the prosperous 1950s. Taft-Hartley curbed some of the worst excesses of Depression-era law that govern labor unions even to this day. Its greatest contribution to our modern governance was the state right-to-work law. States could forbid the pernicious practice of forcing workers to pay a union as a condition of their employment. Unfortunately, Democrats in Congress, out of obedience to the Big Labor bosses who underwrite their campaigns, are threatening to repeal and ban all such laws with new legislation.

Will the decimation of the British Labour Party by Boris Johnson’s Conservatives awake the Democrats to the reality that they, to employ one of their favorite formulations, are on the wrong side of history? Will it finally dawn on them that their abrupt leftward lurch leaves them out of sync with a global trend away from the social democratic left? Many political observers initially regarded Brexit and Donald Trump’s 2016 victory as mere flukes. Most have since been disabused of this error by elections in Germany, France, Italy, and even Sweden. It isn’t clear that the Democrats can be so easily aroused from their utopian dreams.

The officer did not allege that Mckesson threw the rock, that he called on anyone to throw rocks, or that he called on anyone to commit any act of violence. Yet, he sought to hold Mckesson liable for the damages caused when someone else threw a rock. A federal district court dismissed the case on the pleadings. However, a panel of U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit reversed in a unanimous decision.

Whatever its legal merit or lack thereof, the upcoming impeachment trial in the Senate is a political show trial that is intended to affect the upcoming presidential election for sure. So let’s consider the political implications, not the legal merits. The latest news is that the Republican leadership is thinking about trying to vote to acquit President Trump without a trial or hearing any witnesses. That has never been done, but it would be a smart move politically. Despite the president’s statements that he wants a full trial in the Senate, an impeachment trial is unlikely to help President Trump win reelection.

It’s been two years this month since Congress passed and President Donald Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, providing the first major tax reform since 1986. It was a historic overhaul that has delivered tangible benefits for our national economy. The tax cuts lowered our federal corporate income tax rate, which was hurting American job creators’ ability to compete on a global stage. Previously at 35%, the U.S. rate was one of the highest in the developed world.
