Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) on Sunday said the United States government owes former Donald Trump campaign adviser Carter Page an apology regarding the federal surveillance application that enabled the investigation into Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016. CBS “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan asked Durbin about Page being treated “unfairly.”“Does the U.S. government owe Carter Page an apology?” she quizzed.“I can certainly tell you based on what we saw, they do,” Durbin replied. “And here’s the bottom line: many of us have been looking at this …

The "government" owes no one an apology. The slimy creeps who were behind the hoax should be offering apologies from their jail cells.

Maybe a little Democrat “butt covering” campaign may be getting underway by trying to blame the “US Government” for the “frame” job against Carter Page when it is actually only partisan anti-Trump Democrats from the head of the Democrat Party on down through their super bureaucrats who run the CIA and the DOJ/FBI who are to blame. If you follow what Durbin said, that the current US Government should apologize to Page, exactly who in the US Government would be expected to do that? That would be the head of the US Government. Of course according to Durbin and other leftist and liberal Democrats, that person would be President Donald Trump! Give us a break.

"THEY", Dick? Who's "THEY"? You mean WE. Every one of you stinkin' corrupt politicians, and the appointees and bureaucrats of the Ovomit administration who used the sledgehammer of government power to violate the rights of innocent American citizens for purely political reasons. You should do more than apologize. You should go to jail for your crimes.
spit.

Sounds like he is trying to hang this on the Feds which would be Trump, rather than admit his own party is absolutely Soviet level corrupted. That honesty would of course be to lay the problem in Obama's lap where it belongs.

I believe Page is filing a suit and in the end will prob get a pile of our taxpayer dollars. The perps should first lose their personal fortunes just as Page and Flynn have then, if warranted face criminal charges.

By saying "Government", he is neatly pushing the onus on PDT and the current administration who are the real victims. Why doesn't this surprise me?

An apology and a checking credit. Enough for he and his lawyers to buy a medium sized state.

Kind of sad that Clint Eastwood is probably too old to make a film about Carter Page.

The US Dem Congress/DOJ/FBI/NSA/ CIA/ABCDEFG agencies owe the American People an apology for spending millions of taxpayer dollars on fraudulent spying/investigations meant to undermine our Republic and invalidate the election of our duly elected President.
There, fixed it!

Do not forget, if they owe him an apology, they never had a case to advance and continue the FISA abuse, and the subsequent "investigation", which looks more like obstructing the peaceful transfer of power, and meddling in the election of 2018 by continuing the scam.
The "government" who was spying on Carter Page was the Obama administration, Mr. Durbin.
