The state of New York is likely to free at least 125,000 accused criminals from prison next year and provide many with taxpayer-funded housing and job training services thanks to criminal justice reform laws. As Breitbart News has reported, the state’s series of bail reforms will ensure that suspects accused of crimes deemed “non-violent” are not jailed before their trial dates and do not have to post bail. The list of crimes for which suspects will be freed from prison before trial includes: Second-degree manslaughter Aggravated vehicular assault, Third-degree assault, Promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child....

A responsible government would keep accurate metrics. What percentage complete job training? What percentage get jobs? What percentage hold the jobs for at least a year? How many are re-arrested? Of course, that would assume we actually care about outcomes rather than political expediency.

They did it in Louisiana and it seems to have worked, that being said it was mainly for weed and dwi’s where no one was hurt. That being said they are having a hard time getting convictions for weed offenses because it’s hard finding a jury that thinks weed should be illegal.

Now imagine if NYC would help decent citizens for a change. The shock would be too much for everybody I suspect. And it is the repressive gun control that is going to lead to more decent people getting murdered or maimed by these criminals as well. Hard to defend yourself unless you go rogue.

When we learned on Thursday that former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh had been charged on a variety of corruption and tax evasion charges, I pondered what sort of defense her legal team planned to put up. After all, the self-dealing transactions uncovered by the Baltimore Sun were such obvious examples of grifting that it should have been a no-brainer for prosecutors to go after her. But Pugh had insisted from the beginning that nothing illegal had gone on and she had paid her taxes. Well, so much for that. Barely 24 hours later, the news broke that the disgraced former mayor had pleaded guilty to four of the original eleven

That is the key takeaway from Tuesday’s hearings in the Democratic impeachment push. But Vindman was unreliable and had questionable judgment, according to his own outgoing superior, Tim Morrison, the National Security Council’s senior director for European affairs.

Radical social justice activists will serve as the top prosecutors for three major Washington, D.C., suburbs — including the two wealthiest counties in the U.S. — after George Soros’s political action committee poured $2.1 million into ordinarily sleepy local races. In Virginia’s Fairfax and Arlington counties, the “reformer” attorneys ran on platforms far to the left of the Democratic incumbents, beating them in primary races before ultimately winning the general elections. In both cases, the incumbents expressed concern for public safety if the Soros-backed candidates took control. They also said that the activists were pushing a national platform about racism and over-incarceration that had no basis in reality

Gov. Andrew Cuomo upped his histrionics on the Long Island natural-gas crisis Tuesday, formally threatening to revoke the license of National Grid, the utility that has stopped taking new gas customers. The company says it can’t take on new commitments because Cuomo (followed by Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy) blocked construction of a new pipeline. That new-hookups moratorium, the gov insists, “is either a falsified device or a lack of competence.” That is, National Grid either doesn’t need the pipeline — or is still at fault because it didn’t find some other way to assure supply. Yet it never should have needed a Plan B:

There must’ve been something in the water back in 2012, because everyone on the top of the ballot turned out to be even worse than we originally thought. Barack Obama’s legacy is shot, being destroyed by President Trump and the radical left who now view him (laughably) as a conservative. Joe Biden doesn’t know where he is half the time, the other half has his campaign staff wishing he were somewhere else. Paul Ryan was a feckless Speaker of the House who cut bait and ran once he was free to push all the things he’d sworn for years were his deeply held beliefs.
