LOS ALTOS HILLS, Calif. — Former President Barack Obama urged Democrats on Thursday to “chill out” about the party’s 2020 field and to avoid putting candidates through “purity tests,” and warned that average voters are “nervous about changes that might take away what little they have.” Speaking to party donors a day after the latest Democratic primary debate, Mr. Obama added to a series of recent remarks about American politics and the presidential race, including his warning on Friday that the candidates not move too far to the left in their policy proposals and his observation that the average American

Typical BS Obama-speak. Like he said “cut it out” to the Russians. Or describing the police as “stupid”. No eloquence there. He is not smart, just crafty and “cool”. What a total jerk who still mesmerizes so many people for reasons I cannot begin to understand. He will not stop trying to divide this country with whatever means necessary.

Barack Obama has his candidate, his name is Deval Patrick. Now Obama has to get Patrick in position and falsely portray him as a down the middle Democrat, when Patrick is really a very liberal Democrat in the Obama mode, to the Democrat big time movers and shakers who will pick the Democrat nominee next Summer, and then to the country as the man who can whip President Trump in the general election. That may not be so easy, as the other day in Atlanta, an African-American majority city, only two people showed up at a scheduled Patrick appearance, along with the fact that all the Democrat candidates who are struggling through the Democrat debates and primaries, are not going to be happy about Obama and Patrick muscling in on their game as the Democrat National Convention approaches.

Translation: You have to lie through your teeth until you get back into power and then you can take all you want from the taxpayers and they will sit silently and let you do it. The only way we win is to lie about who we are. This is the Obama playbook. It is all about sounding sane, when in reality you are a whacko commie who wants to use Karl Marx as your ultimate guide to nirvana.

Microsoft News poll: Buttigieg breaks
out of the pack in Democratic debate

Wednesday's debate was a breakout moment for Pete Buttigieg among Democratic and independent voters. Microsoft News polls taken before and after the debate also found significantly weakened support for Joe Biden. Support for Buttigieg jumped 5 percentage points, placing him in a narrow lead. Biden's support fell 6 points. That leaves the race with two leaders with a virtual tie when accounting for the margin of error. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren were also tied. There was little change among Kamala Harris and other lower-ranked candidates. (Snip) Now, for a grain of salt These polls do not predict an outcome.

A new poll shows support for the impeachment of President Trump has declined since public hearings have started. The Emerson poll released Thursday found support for impeachment has dropped from 48% to 43% since October, while opposition to impeachment has risen from 44% to 45%. Independents are key in the shift, with 49% opposing impeachment and only 34% supporting impeachment. In October, 48% of independents supported impeachment and 39% opposed. The poll also showed Trump's approval rating rising to a net positive. Forty-eight percent approved of the president while 47% disapproved. His approval rating was only 43% a month ago.

And some rank-and-file Democrats are at wit's end with the congresswoman who Hillary Clinton called “the favorite of the Russians.” (Snip) The Hawaii congresswoman’s presence on the debate stage is becoming a headache for the party as she uses the platform to appeal to isolationists, dissatisfied liberals and even conservatives. Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg's success in recent polls suggests he has a big target on his back — one that, if not skillfully negotiated, could cost him the Democratic nomination. Buttigieg’s campaign is surging, just in time for Wednesday’s Democratic presidential primary debate in Atlanta. Once an obscure long shot, Buttigieg has wedged his way to the top of a field featuring Democratic candidates Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Buttigieg is leading in the Iowa polls, with 25% of voters in one survey saying he’s their first choice for president. Since September

ATLANTA - As public impeachment hearings enter a second week, a majority of Americans have said their opinions on the impeachment of President Donald Trump were formed weeks ago, and many question whether anything will change when the process concludes. Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg's night-and-day campaigns in Iowa and South Carolina clearly show both why he's such a formidable opponent and also why he remains a longshot to win the nomination. In South Carolina, he's navigating troubling accusations that his campaign grossly overstated black support for his sweeping platform for African Americans. Here's what it means in the short term.
