Warren Tax Plan Would Bring

WASHINGTON—Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren has unveiled sweeping tax proposals that would push federal tax rates on some billionaires and multimillionaires above 100%. That prospect raises questions for taxpayers and the broader economy that experts are starting to ponder: Under which circumstances would taxpayers have to pay those rates? How might that change their behavior? And would investment and economic growth suffer? Potential tax rates over 100% could result from the combination of tax increases the Massachusetts senator proposes for the very top tier of investors. She wants to return the top income-tax rate to 39.6% from 37%, impose

Comments:

Some of these billionaires have been demanding to be taxed more. They should be delighted with Warren's plans, instead of recoiling in horror.

Bill Gates might even have a problem with this. On the other hand the Biden and Clinton Crime Syndicate are all in favor of their opportunity to actually be a part of the solution they dream about all the time.

Wealthy people invest in index funds which take .006 percent of their wealth. If the fund charges more, wealthy people move their money elsewhere. What does Warren really think is going to happen if she is taking 3-6% annually of the wealth in this country? Every one of the wealthy is going to bail for other jurisdictions.

No problem! If the thieving left cannot get enough from the rich, the will increase the gasoline tax or enact a carbon tax. Gotta save the planet don'tcha know. When these clowns say they will only tax the rich, don't believe it.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." (Winston Churchill, the House of Commons, 22 October 1945.) The appalling ignorance of history is to the benefit of Progressives. Socialism has failed every time it's tried leaving only trails of misery and death.

Didn't they attempt punitive taxation in France? Didn't the rich flee? Does she honestly think anyone capable of hiding or fleeing these taxes wouldn't? I would predict an increased interest in gold and jewels and a subsequent decrease in interest for productive investment in stocks and bonds. Is Warren that stupid? The economy is not a zero sum game as she might think. Bill Gates doesn't take anything from me, in fact he creates millionaires and billionaires.

If Warren Buffet's secretary pays more taxes than he does, you'd think, being a billionaire, he'd have enough sense to give himself a raise. C'mon Buff, you're slipping!!

A conservative radio show host says he was fired mid-show after criticizing President Trump. Craig Silverman told The Denver Post that he was discussing the president’s notorious former New York lawyer, Roy Cohn, when his weekly 710 KNUS radio station suddenly cut to a news bulletin. As he looked to his crew to see what was wrong, he says program director Kelly Michaels suddenly walked into the room. “You’re done,” Michaels told Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver, according to the report. Silverman said that the hour before he was axed had seen him discussing “how toxic

ALBANY — Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo this fall talked with some of his top political advisers about whether to consider a run for the White House if former Vice President Joseph Biden dropped out of the race, according to two sources familiar with the discussions. The discussions, which predated former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg saying he was considering a run, began after Biden, Cuomo’s ally and friend, appeared to fade in the Democratic primary debates and on the campaign trail this fall, the sources said. National media reports had described Biden as tired after the June debate and

There is a new Democratic front-runner in Iowa, and his name is Pete Buttigieg. The mayor of South Bend, Indiana, holds a clear lead in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, climbing to 25% in a new CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll of likely Iowa caucusgoers. That marks a 16-point increase in support for Buttigieg since the September CNN/DMR poll. This survey comes on the heels of other recent polls that have shown Buttigieg joining the top tier of the Democratic primary race in Iowa. Behind Buttigieg, there is a close three-way battle for second with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Upset at what he called preconditions imposed by the National Football League, quarterback Colin Kaepernick at the last minute moved his scheduled tryout on Saturday away from the Atlanta Falcons training facility to a local high school where media could attend. The former starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers is seeking a return to the NFL three years after his protests against racial injustice roiled the sport. He has contended that teams would not sign him because they wanted to distance themselves from the protests, which U.S. President Donald Trump blasted as unpatriotic and disrespectful. Sen. And now Harris may be facing another problem: A second report Friday described internal strife at Harris’ Baltimore campaign headquarters, with several aides calling for campaign manager Juan Rodriguez’s resignation following his late October decision to lay off field staffers in several states and dedicate Harris' already dwindling

CNN reports that in a private meeting this week, top Democrats conceded that the polls on impeachment were unlikely to shift, and that their basic message is failing to break through for huge swaths of Americans. This is very close to admitting that their ultimate goal, of removing president Trump from office will not be achieved. The reason this would mean game over for the removal effort is that only a significant uptick for impeachment in polling, especially among Republicans who have been rock solid in support of Trump, could lead to GOP votes to convict in the senate.

Until a month or so ago, virtually no one outside of the seven circles of hell that is the State Department had heard of Marie Yovanovitch. Even the intrepid John Solomon had not heard of her until March of this year. He had interviewed Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko who told him that Yovanovitch gave him a "do not prosecute" list the first time he met with her. TAMPA — From the moment the NFL announced its hasty plan for a Colin Kaepernick workout this weekend, the questions have been flying. After all this time, why the sudden rush? Did some team request this? How many general managers will show up? Is this simply a ploy for atonement by the NFL? Yet, around here, a more important question needs to be asked: Can Kaepernick help the Buccaneers? It’s an interesting and legitimate question with, at this point, no clear answer. Kaepernick has not been in an NFL uniform in nearly three years so it’s worth wondering if his skills have atrophied.

When Flyover Country forced Donald Trump on them as president, the outrage that was born of the initial shock grew into outright disdain for those put him into power. Senior Deep State bureaucrats like Peter Strzok and Lisa Page may be able to smell Trump supporters at Walmart, but for really intense class snobbery, there are few places that do it better than Harvard. At Harvard, few professors carry more political cachet than Laurence Tribe, who holds the title “University Professor,” (a very big deal at Harvard) and teaches constitutional law at Harvard Law School.
