Ric Ocasek, the co-founder and lead singer of the new wave band The Cars, was found dead in New York City on Sunday, authorities said. Ocasek was 75.
The New York Police Department said his body was found in a Manhattan townhouse on Sunday afternoon. Ocasek, who was unconscious and unresponsive, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Ocasek's cause of death wasn’t immediately clear, but police said no criminality was suspected. Ocasek co-founded The Cars in Boston in 1976. The band's sound merged classic guitar-oriented rock with synthesizer-driven pop sounds of the late 1970s and early 80s.

The campaign has sold nearly 55,000 packs of plastic straws, netting over $823,000 in sales, whereas campaign officials have sold about $50,000 worth of Sharpie pens, campaign communication director Tim Murtaugh told The New York Times. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a 2020 presidential contender, joined calls for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to be impeached on Sunday following newly reported allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
“Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him,” Warren tweeted Sunday.

Guess what happens when an employee randomly harasses a customer and throws them out of the store without cause? The employee gets fired, that's what. And everyone, or at least everyone sensible, agrees that they deserve it.
Unless, of course, that employee is transgender. Then, as intersectionality demands, special rules apply. The progressive and LGBT media cover the incident in a way that implies the trans employee's actions were righteous, so long as the person they targeted was a conservative.

Those who take such things seriously are abuzz about a book that will come out on Tuesday, written by a couple of New York Times reporters activists. It alleges that decades ago, when he was in college, Brett Kavanaugh misbehaved at a party. As I understand it, the woman toward whom he allegedly misbehaved says she remembers no such thing, but apparently one or more rabid Democrats who say they were at the party are now, many years later, willing to smear Kavanaugh.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said the attention to the recent The New York Times report on sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh reflects with the "shameful circus" from the Senate hearing last year.
The Texas senator told George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week" that he thinks the Democratic candidates will call for impeachment to rile their base.
"I bet you the next Democratic debate, they'll all be saying impeach Kavanaugh, impeach Trump," Cruz said. "There's nobody they don't want to impeach. And at some point, they just have to let the anger go and recognize that the democratic process actually moves on."
Kamala Harris has always been known for her lean and hungry, pushy, grabby, ambition, which includes a willingness to sleep her way to the top to get what she wants. Her political start began as a social mountaineer with San Francisco's old-money Pacific Heights set dating from her 20s and then just moved onward and upward.
That's not sitting well with California's lizardy old-money senior Senator, Dianne Feinstein, who knows that establishment well.

“Tucson Sector agents apprehended Adrian Castro-Garcia, a 33-year-old Mexican national illegally present in the country, late Monday evening. A Border Patrol agent was shot and injured Friday night while conducting a traffic stop near the Texas-Mexico border and another agent shot and killed the gunman, authorities said Saturday.
