The Chinese film industry is reportedly on track to “usurp” Hollywood, thanks in large part to Hollywood’s own stunningly eager willingness to bend at the knee in service to the East Asian country’s communist government and its demands for loyalty and censorship. “China has led Hollywood down the path of submission to a state censorship apparatus whose standards are as murky and unpredictable as those of most democratic countries are clear and consistent,” Boston College humanities scholar Martha Bayles wrote in a recent piece for The Atlantic. Why though does Hollywood bend the knee to China? Because Hollywood is a left-wing institution, and as a left-wing institution,

If Tinseltown is so in love with China, they should all be required to move there and enjoy utopia.

Hollywood is about as meaningless as the NFL to me. They could give all of their movies a Chinese soundtrack and they wouldn't be less interesting.

What, you mean Hollywood has sold out its principles for money? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you. Actually, I am not shocked at all, because Hollywood has no principles and never had. It's always been all about the money. Of course, they are happy to denigrate and insult America while taking the cash, because they are so "principled and caring" and all of us common Americans are just a bunch of ignorant hillbillies.

Hollywood? Didn’t they used to make movies that people actually paid money for to go see?

Hollywood isn't what is used to be when they knew how to make good movies that appealed to everyone, regardless of political considerations. Now, Hollywood makes to many re-makes of the old movies, which can not be improved, and they stuff it with PC and progressive manure.
What next? A re-make of ''Gone With the Wind'' featuring a LGBTQ theme and lots of abuse and beatings of black people?

The days of Hollywood actors being admired and looked up to are long gone. They are now seen as hypocritical lecturing shrews with little talent. Most movies are unwatchable garbage. Sad really.

If I wait long enough, most Hollywood movies eventually appear on cable. They aren't special. I figure I go to a movie theatre once every other year. Maybe less. What type of films are Chinese movie producers making anyway? They would have a different audience. Specifically one that speaks Chinese. Sounds like Hollywood tried to expand into China, and it did not work out as intended. Surprise! Surprise! That happens a lot with China. Hollywood needs to put aside its lefty politics, and get out of China. Its not working for them.

It would seem that the American (read "Hollywood") film industry is more than willing to cut off its nose to spite its face, as my Grandmother would say, in order to hurt the President and any other more conservative members of the viewing audience. However, let us not forget the quality? of what Hollywood is now producing. I shudder when I read a review, see a preview, or hear any other discussion of present day "Hollywood" movies. (Oh, excuse me, my pretentiousness slipped for a moment. I mean "films".) I am waiting for the "industry" to wake up and try to win back the audiences with some old fashioned "up with America" films. Probably not going to happen seeing as how they (the Hollywood elete) are in the process of scuttling their own ship.

I don’t quite understand what the difference is between a hard core Communist and a Hollywood star? Is there any difference? I suppose the Hollywood Star has more money and a few actors agree with Clint Eastwood?

The problem for Hollywood is avoiding the fleas from rats that transmit typhoid from homeless excrement. The good thing is that all illegal aliens like their medical plans.

The summer after President Trump was elected, one or more studios in Hollywood released what was referred to as "summer comedies" designed to be light and happy entertainment for the unclean masses (i.e. middle class America) during the Summer months. Both comedies, one staring an outspoken female comedian and the other an outspoken male comedian, apparently fell flat on their liberal hollywood bottoms (my spell check indicated I must capitalize "hollywood" but I refuse to do so). Since I had heard both of these actors say the most offensive things about our President; and also being aware that little derogatory comments are drifting into our entertainment disguised as comedy about the man I voted for for President, I chose not to put my money in their greedy little pockets. It appears a large portion of the unclean masses agreed with me.
To put icing on the cake, I was truly appalled when studio executives announced in the Fall that these movies were sparsely attended because EVERYONE was do depressed by the election of Trump that they did not feel like laughing! How dense can one be, I ask??
I am not surprised they are (pardon me) "kowtowing" to the Chinese. Apparently the Chinese feel they are delusional as well and wish to take advantage. The quicker Hollywood falls, the harder I will laugh. (AAhh.. wouldn't that make a great "summer comedy".)

Hollywood has been dissing America forever, all the way back to the silent movies. They have hated us from day one. I used to like watching the old black and white movies, but once you have that moment of clarity and realize that even they serve up a nonstop slap at America you can't unsee what you now know.
Hollywood hates us. They always have. From Ma and Pa Kettle making fun of country folks, to the ignoramuses that populate working class bars in movies and TV, it's nonstop contempt, all written and directed by a bunch of America-hating dilettantes who think everything between the I-5 and the Hudson is Deliverance territory, flyover country, not to be entered for any reason. To heck with them.

I don't know about kissing Chinese behind, but their idiot elitist contempt for all us every day "deplorables" is off putting. One thing is clear, they live in a glass bubble when it comes to economics.
