Beginning this week, the 11-mile Green Line light-rail train between downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis will be shut down between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on weekdays. Those hours had become peak times for train cars to serve as moving, overnight shelters for the homeless—many of whom were still sleeping as morning commuters came on board. Cutting all-night service was a sensible move by Metro Transit.(Snip) So-called homeless light-rail “sleepers” often take up several seats at a time and test the patience of other riders concerned about safety and cleanliness. Regional officials and taxpayers have made a substantial investment

Very happy we in Nashville voted down the massive expansion of public transport our adulterous, felonious ex-mayor wanted to foist on us. We have enough issues with violent and vulgar panhandlers and the homeless who spoil our very expensive downtown public library.
I wish all these do gooder progressives would get off their high horses and start a "take a vagrant home" program. Breathe in some pungent reality, Snowflakes!!

Not to mention what they may leave behind on the upholstery besides bacteria.... fleas, bed bugs, etc. That this is allowed at all is mass insanity.

It appears that the Somalis are not the only problem that the Twin Cities have brought upon themselves. Buy these homeless bums one-way tickets to Southern California where they will be a welcome addition to the thousands already there.

How about just not letting these losers board in the first place? Oh no, let's deny shift workers and early morning employees a way to work. There is going to be a lot of angry cops when the donut shops and and diners don't have fresh pastry available.

Enforcing vagrancy statutes and dumping these bums either in mental wards or county jails, to work on clearing trash and weeds and such would help a lot. In a mental ward or county work farm they would be cut off from their drugs and alcohol, and for most of them, that would be a huge improvement.
And having them OUT of the public spaces is NECESSARY.

When I was a kid in St. Louis, in 1958, I rode the public transportation system all over the city. I lived up above Kings Highway, so had plenty of access. If I wanted to go to a hobby shop downtown, it was absolutely no problem. 50 cents got you anywhere you wanted to go and back home. My step mom let me do anything I wanted- she simply paid no attention at all to my comings and going. But, on the bus or trolley car, if someone took up two seats, the driver or operator spotted it immediately and took action at the next stop tossing the bum out on the street. Such shenanigans were simply not tolerated. So, one has to wonder when it became tolerable to let people crowd out paying customers? Also, at the end of the route, everyone had to get off, wait 20 minutes for the next car and then pay again. It really was that simple. This is what Democrats do to your city. People really need to wake up to what damage Democrats do. Never, ever vote for a G.D. Democrat!

Libs have fixed it so we cannot have nice public facilities any more---- public transportation, parks and libraries, for examples.
Libs destroy everything they touch, breathe on, or even look sideways at.

How will they sanitize these overnight cesspools? Who will be held responsible for being pricked with a used needle? And that's not even considering the multitude of diseases spread by this tribe of people.

They closed the mental institutions, recast homelessness as a valid lifestyle choice, then made the trains, buses, public libraries, parks, etc available as lounge areas for them to use as they see fit. None of this benefits the taxpayers or the homeless people.
