No, Really: Al Sharpton Considering

If you're still hoping for even more Democrats to join the already crowded clown car of 2020 candidates, you're in luck, because Rev. Al Sharpton might be thinking about entering the race. “I never rule anything out,” said Sharpton, adding that he isn’t currently exploring a run for the nomination. (Snip) I, for one, would welcome Al Sharpton's entrance to the 2020 Democratic primary. Sharpton's has made a career out of race-baiting, which has now become mainstream in the Democratic Party. If Joe Biden can be the frontrunner, despite his inappropriate behavior with women and young girls, Sharpton's controversial past is certainly not

Comments:

Go for it, Rearend Sharpton! One more totally toxic candidate isn't going to make things any worse for the 'Rats.

Great idea! Every dollar donated to his campaign should go directly to the IRS to address his millions of $$ in back taxes. Which begs the question: How is he walking the streets, free as a bird, when he has ignored paying his taxes for years?

Why not? The Rev. Al has surely been in the White House more than all the readers of Lucianne combined, or at least 80 times during the 8 years of the Obama regime. And, he is just as above the law as Obama, Hillary, Comey and the rest of that evil regime’s officials. And, Sharpton is more familiar with the Oval than all 22 of the Dem candidates running to sit there. Finally, he is an actual racist unlike the false accusations against Trump. "Al cosidering another run for president" This clearly a profit scam. Al still owes millions from his last run for president. Al likes to stay in extremely expensive hotels while he is stumping on the campaign trail even though he had practically zero in his election account.

Proving once again they're absolutely clueless on firearms, nearly 200 House Democrats have indicated their support for legislation banning all semi-automatic firearms nationwide. They aren't just talking about the dreaded AR-15 here. Every new Glock, outlawed. My dad's old .22 Browning target pistol, which my 13-year-old insists I leave to him in my will, would be among the last of its kind. And -- try not to think about this too hard, or you'll cry -- the Colt 1911 .45, perhaps the American sidearm, would be no more. We'll get revolvers and bolt-action rifles and that's about it. The family of the Dayton, Ohio, shooter published glowing obituaries of both the gunman and one of the first casualties in the massacre -- his younger sister, 22-year-old Megan Betts. The obituaries were published Tuesday on the website for the Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home in Bellbrook, Ohio, but the remembrance for gunman Connor Betts was removed Wednesday at the family's request, according to the funeral home. Connor Betts' parents later updated the message on their son's obituary page. "Stephen and Moira Betts apologize that the wording of the obituary for their son Connor was insensitive in not acknowledging the terrible tragedy that he created,"

NBC News is reporting that Democratic presidential candidate and former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke is looking to "reset" his campaign as he attempts to revive his political fortunes. (Snip) O'Rourke received desperately needed national attention after the El Paso massacre by calling Trump a "white supremacist" and Trump voters "racists." His frantic efforts to get attention -- much like a two-year-old throwing a tantrum -- included the outrageous statement that Trump was "inciting violence." Of course, O'Rourke failed to clarify that idiotic statement because, well, he wouldn't be able to point to a single statement by the president that incited violence in any way, shape,

Presidential candidate Joe Biden writes: "Many police departments have reported an increase in criminals using assault weapons since 2004. (Snip) Somewhat perplexingly, the links on “multiple analyses” and “fewer mass shootings” actually go to the same study, just hosted at two different websites. But it’s a new one I hadn’t seen before, and slightly different from the one I wrote about here, so let’s take a look. First, a quick bit of history: The U.S. had a ban on “assault weapons” — semiautomatic guns with certain combinations of “tactical” cosmetic features, including pistol grips and folding stocks — from 1994 to 2004.

If elected, Warren promises to raise taxes on firearms and ammo purchases by 30% and 50%, respectively. That's on top of her plan for federal licensing for gun ownership -- presumably with a federal database of who owns what -- expanded background checks, and a renewed ban on "assault-style" weapons.

Mass murder is not a gun control problem. In 2003, Kim Dae-han, a middle-aged taxi driver, killed 192 people and left 151 others wounded, by setting a South Korean subway train on fire using paint cans filled with gasoline. In 2016, Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a Muslim terrorist, killed 86 people and wounded 458 others by ramming a truck into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in France. In 2001, Muslim terrorists killed 2,977 people and injured 6,000 more, by using box cutters to hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings. Guns are a tool. There are a whole lot of other devastating ways to kill lots of people. American mass killers often use guns

In trying to measure the effects of guns on society -- not just the Americans -- it pays to be careful about what we are describing. The Washington Post explains that there is no direct relation between the number of firearms in circulation and the number of ordinary gun-related murders. (Snip) Ordinary murder is apparently driven by more than the weapon. An observed reduction in the propensity of Americans to shoot each other offset the greater availability of weapons. The federal assault weapons ban and its subsequent removal without detectable effect showed how weak a factor it was by itself.
