This is California, remember. The Golden state is perched to become the first in the nation to ban discrimination based on unique hairstyles, mainly targeting blacks.
The measure, which has passed both chambers of the state legislature, could be signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom as soon as next week. It’s aimed at schools and workplaces where blacks say they have been pressured to abandon hairstyles traditionally a part of their culture and have been denied jobs and advancement when they did not adopt more

What culture? They have no "culture." Look at the aboriginal peoples of Africa. They shave their heads, even the women in some cases, because of the heat and vermin that infest hair. Sadly what passes as "culture" to a liberal is just plain old human degeneracy to the civilized world.

let's target HOLLYWOOD and THEIR discrimination..
DEMAND that they hire the ugly, lame and halt to star in all of their movies..
DEMAND they hire deaf mutes for voice overs in cartoon movies..
DEMAND they hire CHRISTIANS as actors as well..

And I have the right to not do business with people who do not dress respectfully. I refuse to have a person with dang piercing in their eyebrows lips and noses serve me food. To me it’s disgusting and ruins my appetite.
I hate when that happens, especially if I’m really hungry

Can someone cite a single instance in the news or personal experience in, “...schools and workplaces where blacks say they have been pressured to abandon hairstyles traditionally a part of their culture?”
A serious question. When, where? I recall winning the Hair Wars (for hippies’ shoulder-length and everyone’s, “Afro—“ sorry that’s probably racist, now) back in the late 60s and early 70s.
What’s this now? Any narratives to support this purported, “...pressure”?

The whole state is becoming a third-world shiite-hole and this is what they focus on. Forget the southern border, build the damn fence around California.

Darlin', give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there hair, shoulder length or longer
Here, baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it, long as God can grow it, my hair

Well, if their natural hair is unruly or a distraction to others, then they should do something about it. Everyone else has to. What really bugs me is seeing people who look like they just got out of bed, and didn't bother to run a comb or brush through their hair.

Wifey and I stopped going to a restaurant with servers who had more metal in their face than a Prius. My prerogative.

"hairstyles traditionally a part of their culture", what a load of manure. These are modern, made up, ridiculous, often dirty (like dreds) hair styles. The current "exploded mushroom" look on black boys is really
just foolish.
I wouldn't go to a restaurant with staff wearing some of these nasty looking messes, don't want my food
around such stuff.

One hairstyle I want to see banned is stoopid man-buns. Aagghh! It drives me up the wall to see it on male high school students. Maybe that’s why they wear it. Before that, it was rat-tails and mullets. I offered a nephew twenty bucks to cut his rat-tail off, back in the eighties. He took the offer.

I don't have an issue with hairstyles. I have an issue with hair a color that is only found in nature on parrots.

Years ago when tongue piercing was all the rage we sat down to dine in a restaurant only to find our waitress sporting a metal bar through her tongue. We asked to see the manager and got him to provide us with a different waitress. We never went back so I don’t know if he learned anything from the experience.

I won't hire people who look unkempt or scary. That would include massive amounts of tattoos, piercings. earlobe discs and yes, some types of truly scruffy dreadlocks. Jobs are not provided to needy people to help them with money and give them benefits. Jobs exist because employers hire people to take care of customers and provide products and services. If I ever have my own business, I will hire people who will do their jobs and present the image I wish my company to convey. That means my workers won't look like white trash or hood rats. Well-groomed, respectful people from any walk of life would be desirable candidates.

As a Viet Nam vet, I get pretty tired of these old hippies and pretend 'Nam vets with the long grey ponytails. But then, I don't like pony tails on men, period. Also thought that guy, Favio, with the long hair, looked kind of ridiculous!

What I'd like to see outlawed in the workplace is dirty wigs. I also despise hair extensions that are dirty and/or don't match.
