Exactly 60 years ago this week, a senator and another former vice president launched a new American political tradition: presidential candidate debates. Next week, the first of this cycle’s three debates is scheduled between President Donald Trump and former vice president Joe Biden.
[Snip] Democrats’ real concern should be that the 77-year-old political veteran’s mental acuity is not what it was eight and 12 years ago. And

Yes- it matters.
I feel no sympathy for Sleepy Joe Biden..
He may have a good showing- in that he stays awake on prompter points.. oh .. can’t use a teleprompter.. ear piece..
Jill, I am hearing voices in my head..
The country needs to hear from both candidates in same room.

The country needs to see the babbling fool without a teleprompter, without the answers written out for him. They need to see Dementia Joe lose his temper, watch him evade answering questions by saying his time his up, and certainly make dozens of gaffes. Oh, and lie, lie, lie........

Anyone who thinks Wallace will be non partisan during the debate, well I’ve got a bridge I want to sell.

I expect Wallace to call Trump on every statement he doesn't like and to have little follow-through with Biden. The last time Biden was with "Chuck", he admitted to being a progressive, but I doubt Wallace will bring that up. Trump is great in front of a crowd, but I wish he were a better debater. He'll have plenty of opportunities for verbal jiu-jitsu. I hope he takes advantage.

If Biden debates it will be the biggest mistake of his political career. Biden's handlers will try to juice him up with medicine, but it will wear off before the debate ends. Viewers will see that Biden is mentally unfit. Biden is taking a huge gamble and he will lose the bet and the election.

Biden wears that mask to coverup his new facelift scars? Check out pics from the last few months he has been in hiding. I hope he won't look like Nancy.

The first debate will draw a huge audience wanting to see Joe make a fool of himself, or of PDT. The danger for PDT is that Joe comports well and/or, worse, PDT makes his own gaffe. You can bet any minor fumble will be played for days by mainstream media. Expectations...

The Biden campaign will cite Trump’s (choose as many as you like) “undemocratic,” “unconscionable,” “unprecedented,” “hypocritical,” “disrespectful” submission of a SCOTUS nominee as its reason for pulling out of the debates.

Andrew, it will matter in that the country will know that Biden won’t do it - or if he tries, that he can’t do it.
Now go back to your book and your kitty, Andrew, or your nap. This is above your pay grade.
