For the August online national I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from July 28 to Aug. 1, 1,463 adults were asked: “Do you support or oppose U.S. military action against Iran?” The poll’s margin of error is +/-2.9 percentage points.
A total of 42% said they supported military action either “strongly” (22%) or “somewhat,”

He’s already had to admit that customers will have to carry proof of residency to shop in them, that private companies — not the city — will run the stores, and that the first one won’t open for more than a year, and others not for three years.

Early this summer, President Donald Trump eked out marginal gains in voters’ perceptions of his presidential performance. But in August, those gains weren’t repeated. Trump’s favorability among voters remained flat, even as the Iran war flared once again, pushing global energy prices higher.
Each month, the national online I&I/TIPP Poll asks American voters to assess presidential performance, starting with: “Overall, is your opinion of Donald Trump generally favorable, generally unfavorable, or are you not familiar enough to say one way or the other?”
In August’s poll, 39% held a “favorable” opinion of Trump’s time in office, versus a slim majority

We had to look twice at this headline in the New York Times to believe it.
“In Trump’s Economy, Job Gains Go to Women. That’s Not an Entirely Good Thing.”
Huh? Is the Times complaining that men are being shut out of the workforce?
Maybe the subhead will clear things up?
Nope. It says “Despite the administration’s best attempts, the diminishing status of many American jobs is driving a spike in women’s employment.”
“Best attempts”? At what? Driving down women’s employment? Is that really something the Trump administration has been putting its “best efforts” to achieve?

Feasibility studies for a high-speed rail project began in 2006. By 2018, the first section was completed and opened, seven years after construction was started. Where is this bullet train? Not in California. It’s in Morocco.
California voters approved in 2008 a ballot measure for a “safe, convenient, affordable, and reliable alternative to driving and high gas prices” by a 53%-47% margin. Golden Staters were sold a train that would require a $10 billion bond and cost $33 billion to complete. A Florida swimmer had her arm ripped off by a 10-foot alligator — a vicious attack she wound up surviving thanks to a fast-acting boater who scared the beast away.
