Gavin Newsom and his “press office” aides-gone-wild have been trying to mock President Donald Trump on social media for more than a year — regardless of the consequences for state-federal relations. But he can’t laugh off the US Department of Justice probe into his family’s finances. And while Newsom claims the investigation is politically motivated, he knows it is serious. That’s why he and his inner circle are reportedly starting to worry.Newsom knows the investigations go back to the Biden administration. His former chief of staff, Dana Williamson, pleaded guilty last month in federal court in Sacramento to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud.

Right now he's pondering whether he'll have access to his favorite brand of "comb lubricant" in Federal Prison, or whether they'll shave his head during induction.

It's ironic that it is Newsom's Karen of a partner will be what finally brings him down off his perch even though he has openly stolen millions on his own. Hair gel in prison is not used for its intended purpose.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations and its Texas chapter have filed a federal lawsuit against Fort Worth ISD on behalf of Shayma Alzubi, the former incoming principal at Western Hills High School, who was reassigned after scrutiny of past social media posts. The complaint, filed June 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, brings claims under the First Amendment’s Free Speech Clause and the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. It seeks to return Alzubi to the Western Hills principal role for the 2026-2027 school year, along with damages, attorneys’ fees, and litigation costs.

Major employers systematically—though perhaps unintentionally—blacklist conservative nonprofits from their employee charitable giving programs through a third party. Corporate generosity platforms such as Benevity act as middlemen, connecting employers such as AT&T, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Starbucks to a host of nonprofits. Benevity, for example, connects “nearly 1,000 enterprise companies” to a network of 513,000 nonprofits after vetting 2.2 million of them. But these middleman platforms often refuse to partner with mainstream conservative or Christian nonprofits, because yet another third party—the Southern Poverty Law Center—puts those nonprofits on a “hate map” with chapters of the Ku Klux Klan.

Scarcely a day passes when I don’t receive a message from one of my American friends asking, “What the hell is going on over there?” By “over there,” of course, they mean “in the UK,” where I live. In recent weeks, I’ve been taking a lot of questions about the murder of Henry Nowak and the scandalous response by police, who handcuffed him and left him to bleed to death in the street because the man who had stabbed him—a Sikh called Vickrum Digwa—said he was the victim of a racist attack. That was a lie. A lie that the rest of Digwa’s family acquiesced in without a second thought.

As RedState previously reported, Major League Baseball (MLB) landed itself in hot water on Monday after issuing a "warning" to three San Francisco Giants pitchers who refused to bend the knee to "Pride Night," writing Bible verses on their rainbow-themed hats during the team's Friday game against the Chicago Cubs. The warning stated that "the writing on the cap violates our rules, and consistent with normal practice, we have warned the players about future violations." In a follow-up statement, they claimed it had nothing to do with the Christian message. "To be clear,

He’s right — it’s probably worse. Obama’s treaty did not prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, it simply punted the issue down the road in exchange for cash. Trump’s agreement has the same vague promises, the same payouts, but with the added twist that Iran can and will take the world hostage by shutting the Strait of Hormuz at will. The Trump White House is lashing out at some of its most reliable allies as a bitter civil war erupts on the right over the administration’s controversial Iran agreement. Conservative commentator Batya Ungar-Sargon became the latest target Friday after she blasted the deal as an “utter humiliation” for the US and accused Vice President JD Vance of unfairly attacking Israel while defending Tehran. Within hours the official White House rapid-response account on X unloaded on the conservative pundit in a pair of scathing posts. “The only humiliation here is Batya desperately begging for an additional brain cell because her failing TV show—

Virginia’s Democrat Governor Abigail Spanberger has chosen and LGBT activist who has fought against protections for girls’ bathrooms to sit on a state board that directly influences related policies. During the election, Spanberger regularly dodged questions on this issue when asked by reporters. No we know why. Her decision to appoint this person to this role just shows that Democrats have not changed at all. They are not budging on this issue and will go right back to where they were before the 2024 election the instant they retake power.

Republicans are largely skeptical that President Trump’s deal with Iran will deliver a geopolitical win, but they are bullish about its impact on the midterms, with gas prices already dropping. One national Republican operative described feeling “relief” after the agreement, pointing to positive reactions from markets. Oil prices have fallen to their lowest point since the war began at the end of February following the announcement of the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran this week. Brent Crude, the international oil benchmark, sat at $79.53 per barrel on Thursday, while West Texas Industrial, the U.S. benchmark, was at $76.55.

The cackhanded pursuit of Net Zero by Ed Miliband and his predecessors has left Britain having to pay France and other countries to take excess power off our hands for a significant portion of the year. The Telegraph has more. It’s the Ed Miliband paradox: why does Britain have among the highest power prices in Europe when we have so much electricity that suppliers have to pay customers to use it? It was a question repeated across the energy industry last week after power prices briefly turned negative, meaning customers and countries abroad were paid to use surplus electricity generated in Britain rather than having to pay for it.

President Trump on Saturday said the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool will likely have to be drained to make the necessary repairs after vandals took a knife and put a 250 foot long gash into the pool and poured corrosive chemicals in the water. Many people have been arrested for vandalizing the reflecting pool and peeling off the paint from the bottom of the pool. Former Olympian David Hearn was arrested and charged with misdemeanor for destruction of property for vandalizing the Lincoln Reflecting Pool.
