Decapitation for Thee ...and for Me

The other day President Trump Truthed out former Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen's demand for the failed "decapitation strategy" to be extended to Iran's negotiating team:(Snip)Even though it's a strategic flop for the Yanks and Israelis, the "decapitation strategy" is sufficiently irksome to Tehran that, in the event President Trump is minded to do as his Truth Social hints and resume it, the mullahs would this time reciprocate with a little decapitation of their own.

Comments:

While it is always tempting to shoot the messenger for stating ugly truths but as we move into the 11th week of the "four to six week" war perhaps it is time to face some unpleasant facts. Mark Steyn, who has always been opposed to the Iran operation, lays out some of them. As time has gone by his negative prognostication is more reality based than that of the chorus of interventionists who demand we continue down the course of action that has failed to bring Iran to heel. The fable of Br'er Rabbit combating the Tar Baby comes to mind.

What puzzles me is that the man who wrote, “America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It,” is shocked that when a president who is not enamored with the globalist vision of depopulation, elite control, and general serfdom for the remaining population comes to power and acts on his lifelong thoughts and beliefs, he’s disappointed. Mark is smart enough to know that imperfection of the perfect hinders the perfect outcome. In this case, perhaps the president and his advisors didn’t get deep enough. But, it is my opinion that he is operating on the literal crap storm of information that the entrenched bureaucracy is tasked with giving him. What is real and what isn’t? How many traps have been put into their assessments and recommendations. One thing is for sure, the Iranian people are suffering under whatever is left of the IRG. And, perhaps the IRG was underestimated in the depth and resolve of its leadership. I am certain that President Trump’s State and War department hold the belief that the Iranian people would revolt, but it is hard to get enough people who have been brainwashed and abused for the better part of 50 years to just go out and sacrifice. That being said, it is a wonder to me that Steyn, with his vast intellect, doesn’t offer solutions rather than his typical scalding, witty, and sometimes ponderous observations. Monday morning is no time to offer plays for Sunday’s game.

I have a few questions for Mark Steyn: Did the Iranians have close to 1,000 pounds of highly enriched uranium? The IAEA says they did: "The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) estimates that Iran holds about 440.9 kilograms (972 pounds) of uranium enriched to 60% purity, a short technical step from weapons-grade 90%" -- enough to make 10 atom bombs. Again, that's not the CIA or Mossad. That's the IAEA. Why would they need that enriched uranium, if not to build atom bombs? Have the Iranians shouted for decades: "Death to Israel! Death to America!" Are the Iranian leaders ruthless terrorists who have funded proxy wars against Israel, including the October 7th massacre? Have the Iranians been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, including 241 peacekeepers in Beirut in 1983? Would it be hard for the Iranians to sneak an atom bomb onto a ship and blow it up in an Israeli harbor? An American harbor? Would it be hard for the Iranians to sneak an atom bomb onto a passenger airliner and blow it up somewhere over Israel? Over the US? After the 911 attacks, Condoleeza Rice said that no one could have imagined such an attack. She was wrong, of course -- someone not only imagined it but carried it out. Could you imagine the Iranian fanatics bombing Israel or the US with an atomic device -- even a dirty bomb? If so, should we just wait for that to happen? I think that will be the last Mark Steyn column I ever read.

The Iranians and Islamist power must be stopped. Steyn does not say how much Iran and it's windfall of oil has financed the very elements in Kuwait or Saudi society that are willing to "decapitate" it's leaders. It's like this formerly smart man who was formerly made what he is today because of Rush Limbaugh is readily stabbing what Rush would think is a noble cause in the back. Having said that...........is there any will in the younger generations to stop it? I've done my part and I am mostly out to pasture, but if there is no will to stop the cancer, then it will infect and kill its host.

(Snip) Meanwhile, back in what passes for the real world, the war aims continue to shrivel. (Snip) So a month ago Iran controlled four per cent of global oil. Now they control twenty per cent - and their parliament's plan is for the "Tehran toll-booth" to become a permanent fixture. Which would mean they control more of the world's oil than America.

America's military bases in the Gulf are some of the most expensive on the planet, and yet, as with the killing fields of eastern Ukraine, they're highly vulnerable to drones that cost a few thousand bucks. Your fear that it might end badly is noted. "Get behind Trump"? That might be better directed at Vance, Gabbard, Kennedy and other cabinet members whose discomfort with the strange turn of events is palpable either through their sudden absence from public life or when they're testifying to Congress and trying to walk the fine line between not getting fired now and not getting impeached by the incoming Democrat majority in January.

~This news is too sad. From Old Dominion University in Virginia: The victim of the terrorist attack at Old Dominion has been identified as Lt. Col. Brandon Shah-- who was a Professor of Military Science and the leader of the university's ROTC program. So Colonel Shah survived the century's worthless unwon wars including "America's longest war" - Operation Enduring Freedom (how'd that endure, by the way?) - only to come home and die at the hands of one of his "fellow Americans" screaming - go on, take a wild guess; yeah, bingo! - "Allahu Akbar!"

The Trump administration’s messaging on America’s military involvement in Iran has been, to put it lightly, a mess. And it’s clear after listening to his remarks about the conflict that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is not helping the situation. Since the U.S.-Israeli-led operation against Tehran began, Graham has rushed to every microphone and television camera available to express his unbridled enthusiasm about the campaign. When he isn’t bragging about how much money the U.S. is going to make as a result of the conflict, he’s calling for more American intervention in countries like Cuba and Lebanon.

They're just messing with us now. From the Epstein files:  STATEMENT OF MANHATTAN U.S. ATTORNEY ON THE DEATH OF DEFENDANT JEFFREY EPSTEIN Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. President Donald Trump's push to seize Greenland might be the least popular idea in American political history. Is that hyperbole? If so, that's only because reliable and fast public polling is a relatively recent development within our 250-year experiment in self-governance. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found a staggering 4 percent of Americans favor the idea of seizing Greenland with military force. Among Republicans, the idea is actually twice as popular: 8 percent say taking the island is a "good idea."

WASHINGTON — The Congressional Black Caucus, a power center in the Democratic Party for decades, saw its membership rise this Congress to an all-time high of 58 House members. Now, thanks to a Supreme Court redistricting ruling that’s expected to dramatically diminish Black representation on Capitol Hill, the CBC is fighting a five-alarm fire that could devastate its membership. CBC Chair Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., said as many as 19 of the caucus’ members could be affected by the redistricting wars in a worst-case scenario, though she noted it’s still fluid given that states are still drawing new maps in the

Despite being newly empowered by the Callais v. Louisiana Supreme Court ruling, South Carolina’s Republican-controlled Senate rejected moving ahead with a redistricting plan that would have likely unseated the state’s sole Democrat in Congress, Rep. This was short of the necessary two-thirds threshold, with five Republican senators defecting.

Mamdani had barely settled into Gracie Mansion before he discovered what socialists always find out: Eventually, you run out of other people's money. His grand campaign promises — you know: free this, universal that — ran headlong into the reality that New York City couldn’t afford all the things Mamdani had campaigned on.
