The mayor of Arcadia admitted to acting as an illegal foreign agent of China, resigning from her position in a shocking federal plea deal unsealed on Monday.
Eileen Wang agreed with prosecutors that she worked with the People’s Republic of China to boost propaganda with a fake news website on US soil between 2020 and 2022. She was elected to Arcadia City Council in November 2022 — the city is located in the San Gabriel Valley within LA County.
Wang, 58, worked with her then fiancé, Yaoning “Mike” Sun, on a web site called “U.S. News Center,” which claimed to be news source for Chinese Americans, according to court documents.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is demanding the Southern Poverty Law Center hand over donor information, fundraising solicitations, and other internal documents after a federal grand jury indicted the SPLC for allegedly funding members of the very hate groups the SPLC claims it exists to “dismantle.” Marshall’s office issued a formal subpoena to the Montgomery-based nonprofit on Monday, launching an investigation under Alabama’s law against deceptive trade practices. “We have always suspected that they were monetizing hate and trading on race-baiting, it was just a matter of proving it,” Marshall said in a statement on the subpoena. Staffers of the Federal Reserve bank system are providing financial backing for the Democratic Party’s lurch toward the far left, a Washington Free Beacon analysis found.
Political donations from the Fed staff have a sharp partisan tilt toward Democrats. In the 2024 campaign cycle, 90.3 percent of contributions from Fed employees went to Democrats, according to Open Secrets. The site doesn’t yet have a tally of the political distribution of donations this campaign cycle, but the Fed staff are jumping in, pouring money into contested Democratic primary races and supporting candidates with extreme views that are hostile to free-market economics or to America’s traditional allies.

Two Senate committees have obtained records from the Justice Department that show the government possessed evidence of potential prostitution-related crimes related to former first son Hunter Biden.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson had requested the records from the Justice Department in 2022, pursuant to their investigation into alleged corrupt acts and conflicts of interest by members of the Biden family. Those requests were not answered at the time.
The Republican senators say the records – which include text messages between Hunter Biden and the women – show that the government had significant evidence of potential Mann Act violations allegedly committed

I've been very critical of the Trump administration and its schizophrenic Second Amendment record. On one hand, we've gotten dozens of new rules for the ATF, almost all of which are outstanding for gun owners to some degree or another. We've had the Civil Rights division of the DOJ go after state and local governments for unconstitutional gun control laws. The flip side, though, is that they've also defended some terrible federal regulations. It's enough to give you whiplash, and a lot of Second Amendment advocates are very down on the administration because of it. I know, because I'm one of them.

Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones filed a long-shot emergency petition to the Supreme Court on Monday, urging it to reinstate the voter-approved Democratic gerrymander of the state’s congressional map, which the Virginia Supreme Court struck down last week.
The petition, filed on behalf of Jones and other Democratic leaders in Virginia, argued that the Virginia Supreme Court erred in ruling that an “election” in the Virginia constitution includes the early voting period, instead arguing that under federal law, an “election” refers to a singular day.

Five words: Power unused is power surrendered.
That’s the reality Senate Republicans now face.
With a narrow majority and a nation increasingly concerned about election integrity, Republicans face a choice: act decisively or allow procedural relics to dictate policy outcomes. At the heart of this dilemma is the filibuster — not a constitutional safeguard, not a sacred institution, but a Senate rule that has evolved into a minority veto.
And in its current form, it’s not even honest. Today’s filibuster is a shadow of its former self. Senators no longer need to stand on the floor, speak for hours, or defend their obstruction before the American people.

New revelations emerging from Israeli security investigations have shattered any illusion that Turkey's relationship with Hamas is limited to "political support" or "diplomatic engagement." The evidence increasingly points to a situation far more alarming: Turkey has become a primary operational, logistical, and financial hub for Hamas's global terror infrastructure.
Countries that enable terrorism cannot at the same time be treated as indispensable partners in the fight against terrorism.
By allowing Hamas members to develop drone capabilities on Turkish soil, Ankara is deliberately grooming terrorists for future wars against Israel.

When the federal government released its jobs report for April, even the die-hard Trump-hating media had to admit that the gain “beat expectations.” Economists had expected just 65,000, not the 115,000 reported.

That wasn’t how mainstream news outlets covered the report. They were busy on Friday, warning about “several red flags” and that “the solid-looking topline employment numbers mask underlying weakness in the labor market.”

Four others were shot and hospitalized, according to police. It’s not clear how many of those wounded were students.
The prom was cut short and the school was closed Monday to give Hayes’ classmates time to grieve, Action News 5 reported.

A vigorous scan through the legacy news from this past two weeks has not turned that up. Indeed, the parties at fault have circled the wagons instead of confronting the problem. They are attempting to make it out that the Department of Justice at the behest of President Trump is executing a campaign of persecution against a “storied civil rights organization,” as CNN on Facebook described Southern Poverty Law Center.
