Rep. Keith Self has introduced legislation that would effectively outlaw cousin marriages by denying federal recognition and benefits to such unions.
“Cousin marriage—which is permitted under Sharia—is fundamentally incompatible with American culture and values. It should not be allowed anywhere in our country,” the Texas Republican told The Daily Signal. “The vast majority of states have already banned this third‑world practice. It’s time for Congress to finish the job and enact a nationwide prohibition.”
Marriage between close family members is legal, with few or no restrictions, in 18 states and the District of Columbia. Self argues that blood‑related marriages are common in certain ethnic and cultural groups, with rates reaching

I bet the Supreme Joke will have a thing or two to say about this. How is marrying a cousin different from a man marrying a man or a woman marrying a woman? What is the compelling state interest in marriage anyway? Shouldn't goobernment stay out of our bedrooms? Why does the goobernment have the authority to dictate who can start a family and who the members of that family can be? And if cousins really want to marry one can 'transition' to the same sex and then its a marriage with a Supreme Joke declared right to marry.

We already know they must have been inter-marrying, else, why live the way they do?

If you want to see why you shouldn't marry family, go look up the Hapsburg family. Their abnormalities became so pronounced that one of them could barely chew his food.

Cousins marrying Cousins was far more common in the past than most want to admit. I have several family members to would show up for family reunions after the divorces. This isn't "just" and Islamic thing. It is, or used to be perfectly legal in Maryland. Well that and underage marriage.

Back in the 1940's, my Fathers Sister married her first Cousin. Their first child, a son was a delightful child but he wasn't all there. He spent his life doing menial jobs, the ones he could handle. His parents did him no favor by marrying near family members.

Re: #4 - From the Article: "The bill would alter benefit calculations under Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Medicare, Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. It would also affect federal employees’ life and health insurance benefits." The benefits mentioned above are being raped by fraud, primarily from third-worlders, illegals and the pseudo-naturalized - or naturalized in name only. U.S. citizens are intended to derive financial benefit on their federal taxes from filing as married on a joint return, for example Some states, like Minnesota, pervert federal benefits that pass through the states by allowing a brother and sister to self represent as legally married, allowing their foreign "cultural" practice to help them defraud our government, while the Minnesota "sister" perverts any notion of a "citizen representative" in our nation's Congress. Any such federal law prohibiting close family members from marrying is necessary due to the Blue state's early pathway to either take over or completely succeed from the U.S. as currently constituted. Concepts of Federalism, similar to "layer-cake government," inherent by design in our form of government (and largely effective for the past 245 years), cannot work when certain states in rebellion against our Constitution, act to provide sanctuary from federal immigration and criminal law enforcement, while defrauding all levels of government is condoned, if not encouraged by such states as "social economics." In addition, perhaps the bill would prevent the same-sex transition loophole mentioned by #1. There is no provision in the bill mentioned that would put government agents into our bedrooms. If the Supreme Court, the only court specifically authorized by our Constitution, keeps issuing rulings that nip racial gerrymandering in the bud, were there to be a ruling questioning the Constitutionality of such a law as proposed, then a Constitutional amendment may likely be passed and ratified by 38 states, resolving such questions.

I already married my cousin. Ninth, twice removed. Cousin marriage is OK in Sharia, because if a father could not marry his daughter off to another tribe/clan, then a cousin would have to do.
