'Nobody's Playing Games': Vance On Way

I wouldn't say nobody. That's the problem. One side keeps playing games while the other side keeps demonstrating its seriousness. That pattern will likely repeat itself today in Islamabad, but the US plans to let it unfold in the open so no one will get confused. Donald Trump has sent J.D. Vance again to lead the negotiations with Iran to end the war on American terms. It's not clear yet whether Vance, Steven Witkoff, and Jared Kushner will see anyone across the table, but the US will show up as the ceasefire deadline approaches:

My hunch is that Obama is involved with Iran. It's only a hunch. Please remember, Obama is a friend of the Iranians, sending them pallets of unmarked cash. Iran owes him and would probably do anything he requests. Obama is involved with the midterm elections to help the senate and congress retake power. It would not surprise me if he is telling Iran to hold out on the peace talks. Remember, this is just a hunch.

What is the purpose of sending Whitkoff and Kurshner with Vance, our elected VP? Do those two real estate billionaires actually add diplomatic value, while avoiding OCIs? I assume it's personal with Trump.

As Joe Biden and Kamala Harris said when dealing with Iran, "Don't" go JD, et al. I agree about Kushner being involved - all I can think of is he is working on another real state deal, but seriously, he and Witkoff are both Jewish so I think that's a non-starter right there. BTW - Greta Van Susteren on her NewsMax show last week - raised the issue of sending two Jews to Iran to negotiate.

Perhaps Iran is still hiding their secret weapon. A Nigerian prince. Give Iran 1 million and the Nigerian prince will put 20 million in your best bank account in 20 days. /s

A great deal of national news coverage concerning Virginia has focused on the attempt by its new Democratic governor, Abigail Spanberger, and her confederates in the General Assembly to circumvent the commonwealth’s constitution in order to radically gerrymander the state’s congressional district map. This maneuver has, however, overshadowed another of their equally dubious legislative actions. A bill proposing that Virginia join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) passed both houses of the General Assembly in February, and Gov. Spanberger signed it into law on April 13.
Early Vote Bodes Ill For Virginia Redistricting Scam 6 replies

Virginia’s redistricting referendum is not going as well as the Democrats evidently expected. The official date of the special election is April 21 but early voting began on March 6, and the number of ballots cast in heavily Republican areas of the state has been far higher than in their Democratic counterparts. The Old Dominion doesn’t register voters by party, but the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) publishes early vote totals by congressional district. (snip) Thus far, of the 676,502 Virginians who have voted, 55 percent cast their ballots in the five districts held by Republicans.
Senate GOP Needs New Leadership 20 replies

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that, despite a 53-47 Republican majority, the U.S. Senate is a graveyard for President Trump’s agenda. This is largely the fault of Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), who has never been a strong supporter of the President. Despite this, most Republicans hoped that Thune would work to advance Trump’s priorities, particularly after his decisive 2024 victory provided the momentum for the GOP to retake the Senate. But Thune’s refusal to get the SAVE America Act passed and his surrender to the Democrats on DHS funding — without additional money for ICE or CPB — dashed any hope.

When President Trump ordered the attack on Iran, it was inevitable that he would receive considerable criticism from the Democrats and their mouthpieces in the corporate media. It was also to be expected that some conservatives would offer thoughtful criticisms of his decision to hit Iran. It was surprising, however, when he was denounced by various podcasters, most of whom have been stunningly naïve about Iran’s threat and why Trump had to take action. By far the most clueless of them has been Megyn Kelly.

It’s blindingly obvious that Senate Majority Leader John Thune would much rather have Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) back in Congress for six more years than see him replaced by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. But Cornyn’s failure to capture anywhere near 50 percent of last week’s primary vote, plus the prospect of an ugly and expensive runoff, doesn’t bode well for his future. Despite the far left and genuinely weird Democrat nominee, James Talarico, Cornyn’s unpopularity may reduce GOP turnout in the general election enough to cause his Senate seat to flip blue.

It was hardly necessary to consult Nostradamus to predict that the Democrats, who profess to abhor oppressive authoritarian theocracies, would denounce President Trump’s decision to topple the government of Iran — the very definition of such a regime. Nor was it a surprise that they downplay or simply ignore the obvious elation with which the Iranians themselves greeted the long overdue demise of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It is striking, however, that the Democrats fail to see that their reflexive attacks on Trump for taking action (snip) reinforces the public perception that their party is weak and out of touch.

“How do you not stand?” may go down as one of the most revealing sentences ever uttered by a president. A few days ago, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) gave America some very welcome news. During a press conference he said that his Democratic members had two choices with regard to President Trump‘s upcoming State of the Union address: “The two options that are in front of us, in our house, is either attend with silent defiance, or to not attend.” This will definitely be a win-win for everyone who tunes in Tuesday evening to hear what the President has to say about his first-year accomplishments and future plans for the country.

tates don't come much bluer than Maryland. My father-in-law, who lived much of his adult life in Maryland, was heavily involved in local politics there, as a conservative Democrat - there were some then, and in Maryland, even in the '60s and '70s, you registered Democrat, or you were shut out of the process. He has told me on numerous occasions that there wasn't an elected official in Maryland who had two IQ points to rub together. Advertisement Case in point: Governor Wes Moore, who on Wednesday was eviscerated by Press Secretary Karolyn Leavitt for his action prohibiting local law enforcement from working with Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Redistricting Betrayal in Virginia 15 replies

Five years ago, two-thirds of Virginia voters passed a referendum that ostensibly eliminated partisan gerrymandering from the congressional redistricting process that follows each decennial census. This amended the commonwealth’s constitution such that redistricting would thence forth be carried out by the Virginia Redistricting Commission (VRC) rather than state politicians burdened by conflicts of interest. This bill of goods was sold to the Old Dominion’s voters as “election reform” by a very expensive public relations campaign run by various Democrat-affiliated activist groups. It was obvious that the VRC would be jettisoned when it no longer served Democrat interests.
The SAVE Act: Why Are Senate Republicans Dithering? 13 replies

In almost all midterm congressional elections, the President’s party loses seats in the House of Representatives. The only exceptions occurred in 1902, 1934, 1998, and 2002. This obviously means the razor thin Republican House majority — and thus the GOP’s governing trifecta — will be in considerable peril next November. This being the case, common sense dictates that certain crucial bills should be prioritized by Congress and sent to President Trump’s desk for signature post haste. Considering the insecure and chaotic manner in which federal elections are conducted in blue states, the SAVE Act clearly falls into the must pass category.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is distinguishing herself on the U.S. Supreme Court — and not in a positive way. It’s as though she’s positioned on an island defined by woke ideology, racial justice, and equity, while the other eight justices remain on the mainland of restraint. For proper context, it’s important to know about a case that was in front of her and the other members of the court. The case centered on an early morning police stop in Washington, D.C., where a Metropolitan Police officer responded to a call about what was described as a suspicious vehicle. At around 2 a.m., the officer approached the car, and immediately

By almost any analysis, Christianity is the superior religion. Of all, Christianity reigns supreme. Christianity has positively transformed the entire world. Even now, ill-informed leftists don’t realize most of their thoughts on the dignity of the human and individual freedom -- and hundreds more -- are due to Christianity. Thomas Jefferson noted, “Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilized world would now have been Christians.” And if one is going to become a Christian it would seem that His Church, the Catholic Church, should be the choice. The other denominations were

PORTLAND, Maine—Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) campaigned Saturday alongside Graham Platner, the left-wing candidate in the Maine Democratic Senate primary who has praised Hamas and until recently sported a tattoo of a Nazi symbol. Warren said Platner "has the values" to serve in the upper chamber and would bring "accountability" to Washington, D.C. Platner "is a man who not only has the values, but a man who believes in accountability, and we need a little accountability coming out of Washington right now," Warren told attendees at a packed Holiday Inn ballroom. "Billionaires don't want to pay taxes, and nobody in Washington will get in that fight. Well, Graham Platner's gonna."

The assault happened around 2:50 a.m. Sunday at Temple University, when the teens chased the student into the Morgan Hall South dorm, according to the Temple University Police Department. “Once inside, the group struck the student and damaged university property,” police said. The unidentified student sustained minor injuries in the attack and declined medical treatment at the scene. The damage caused inside the residence hall by the thugs included a smashed monitor at the security desk, ABC6 reported.

The newest Gaza freedom flotilla has come under the spotlight – not because of its stated aim of “breaking the Israeli siege on Gaza” – but because a senior member was accused of sexual misconduct. The scandal began shortly after the flotilla set sail from Barcelona on April 12, when the Palestinian group Heart of Falastin claimed that “a senior member of the flotilla, a member of the steering committee, the highest governing body of the organization, code named B.L. for their protection (not ours), engaged in sexual relations with multiple activists while on the boat heading toward Gaza. Not one person. Not two. Three different individuals.” Heart of Falastin then said,

The court ruled that the policy likely goes against the state constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. “Transgender discrimination is, by its very nature, sex discrimination,” the court claimed in its opinion, ultimately rejecting biological reality.
