Ed Miliband’s Oil Blockade is a War

As President Trump tries to regain control of the crisis created by his war of choice in Iran, much of the rest of the world is in a struggle to secure energy resources. In Britain, pressure on the Government to drop its commitments against North Sea oil and gas production is intensifying. The debate no longer divides on Left-Right, Labour-Conservative lines, with Chancellor Rachel Reeves, unions and even a caucus of Labour MPs putting the spotlight on Ed Miliband, on whom the Prime Minister has said the decision rests. While we wait for a clear answer from the Government about how rising energy prices are going to be managed,

America is living through a moment difficult to describe without sounding a little unhinged. But here goes: We are watching the United States do things that only the United States can do. In the span of a few days, Americans have watched astronauts push farther into space than any human beings in history, while U.S. forces execute military operations so precise and technologically overwhelming that they look like something written for a Hollywood script. Pilots are being rescued in missions that resemble "Mission: Impossible." Terrorists are being eliminated with the kind of targeted strikes that only a modern superpower can carry out.

Twitch streamer and political gadfly Hasan Piker has a nose for publicity. More than a billion people have seen his Twitch stream that features some truly outrageous, hate-filled — even for a radical leftist — rants. He says that America "deserved" 9/11. The pro-Israel group StopAntisemitism nominated Piker as "Antisemite of the Year" in 2024 for remarks he made about Israel after the October 7 attack. Specifically, he excused Hamas's sexual violence against Israeli women, saying it “doesn’t change the dynamic” of the conflict. Indeed, he has been disavowed by much of the establishment Democratic Party,

Following Operation Epic Fury, supply chain disruptions have ricocheted across the market and hiked gas costs for the average American – with Californians paying the prettiest penny at the pump. Though AAA data shows the average national cost of gas has jumped from $2.98 to $4.018 over the past month, Californians are shouldering more crushing gas costs. The Golden State has enacted stringent regulations on the oil and gas industry for decades, implementing the highest gas tax in the nation, moving to block fracking permits and attempting to phase out the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035 before Congress and President Donald Trump stopped the effort.

Reform UK will block visa requests from any country that demands reparations from the UK should the party win the next election, saying such claims “ignore that Britain made huge sacrifices to be the first major power to outlaw slavery”. The Mail has more. Home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf claimed such nations ignore the “huge sacrifices” the UK had made to ban slavery. Several African and Caribbean countries – such as Nigeria and Jamaica – have made requests, raising the prospect that their nationals could be barred from entering the UK. Yusuf said: “A growing number of countries are demanding reparations from Britain.

On the menu today: The U.S.-Israeli war against Iran reaches a proposed two-week cease-fire . . . at least on paper; the cease-fire has not stopped Iran from firing missiles and drones at Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The list of demands from Iran is an ayatollah’s wish list, but President Trump seems bizarrely enthusiastic about a proposal for the U.S. and Iran to jointly charge a toll fee for ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Read on. Actions Speak Louder Than Words One of the first things that jumps out about President Trump and the Iranian government’s statements —

A quiet surge is reshaping American courts in states such as Georgia and Missouri to prevent the encroach of Sharia law. State legislators are advancing “American Laws for American Courts” (ALAC) and related measures. These laws attempt to keep the U.S. and state constitutions as the sole legal authorities. The message to Americans is clear: no foreign codes and no parallel tribunals. This effort addresses real risks in family law, contracts, child custody, arbitration, and other legal conflicts. These laws are not instance of intolerance or fearmongering; Sharia principles have clashed with constitutional rights in our nation, and these laws will help prevent such clashes in the future.

You almost have to admire how far some Republicans are willing to go to lose the 2026 midterms — and ultimately, the country. Throughout their recent two-week vacation, several GOP lawmakers have been making the media rounds to tout “bipartisan” legislation they claim will finally solve America’s broken immigration system. There’s just one teensy-weensy important detail that somehow gets brushed aside: The bill would allow millions of illegal aliens to continue living in the United StatesSponsored by Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar, R-Fla., Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., and other lawmakers, the so-called DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act permits “certain long-term undocumented immigrants to earn legal status, without amnesty or a path to citizenship”

That’s exactly what the so-called “Dignity Act” is. A Biden-appointed federal judge blocked the Trump administration from ending temporary amnesty for thousands of Ethiopian nationals in the U.S. since 2022. In a ruling on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy described the Trump administration’s “termination” of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) amnesty for Ethiopian nationals as “unsurprising in light” of President Donald Trump’s executive order, Reuters reported. Murphy also noted that “the will of the President does not supersede that of Congress.” “Fundamental to this case—and indeed to our constitutional system—is the principle that the will of the President does not supersede that of Congress,” Murphy said. “Presidential whims do not and cannot supplant agencies’ statutory obligations.”

That’s according to an exclusive analysis by Issues & Insights of the latest Census Bureau and election data. Most analyses of internal migration patterns look only at state-level data. And what they show is that blue states are losing population to red states, and have been for many years. Mamdani’s Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan and True Cost of Living Measure prompted a warning from U.S. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who called the measure “fishy” and promised to take a closer look at its legality under current civil rights laws.
