CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (AP) — Across the country, progressives are lighting a fire that they hope will catapult Democrats back to power in Congress this year. But here in a hotel ballroom, the party’s beleaguered moderates have another message — not so fast.
Leaders at Third Way’s conference talked over and over about how Democrats can’t swing too far left in the midterms, or when picking their next presidential nominee, if they have any hope of winning back the White House.
The title of the two-day, invite-only conference: “Winning the Middle.” And there was plenty of advice on how to do that. Be plainspoken, not lofty or academic. Don’t live online, but

Their message to Americans:
"We will lie to your face to keep some sort of control, but as soon as the "election" is done, we will spin like a top, just like lying Abigail Spanberger, of Virginia (D-LIAR)."

The problem the dems face is that they have too much recent history that shows them to be incompetent, corrupt, dishonest, nasty, and generally useless. They and their media claim something to be factual and it collapses almost before they stop talking. Then they repeat the process. Each exposure permanently destroys some of their credibility. That's why liberal media is dying. People are continually "voting" to tune them out. The dems only get significant elections every 4 years but their base is eroding all along. By the time 2028 arrives, the damage will be done no matter what tactics they use.
The tactic of pretending to be something you are not has been exhausted by liberals. The dems went all in under Biden and made a mess of it. The dems candidates shouted and screeched and made utter fools of themselves and everyone saw them and most were repulsed.
Sure, there are about 20% of the public enamoured of such tactics but that leaves 80% who will either seek out an alternative or just stay home.

The ‘Rats fall roughly into three groups. One wants to lie, second wants to cheat and a third wants to try both. Remember, fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me!

They pulled down their knickers to flirt with the far left, and everyone sees the obvious result of the merger.
Perhaps if everyone but Fetterman steps down, they could pretend they are going back to their roots.

Easy answer, get rid of your fringe leftists, lunatics, low IQ, big mouthed, atheists and muslims, and all those like Jasmine Crockett, who cooperatively committed political suicide for you. We will do our part in getting rid of all the illegal aliens that Biden brought in to embarrass you.

They delivered their message loud and clear during the SOTU and we heard it. Their mask came off. It seems they want to determine what their new mask will be .... one that they can wear during campaign season which they can easily rip off if they should win. They have NO intention of devising an honest economic message to present as part of their platform because they honestly want to destroy the economy. Gotta do their part to help initiate the New World Order. A functioning economy isn't part of that goal.

Moderate Dems don't realize they have already lost. Their party has been marching lock step to the left ever since Obama became President. Their strategy is to take over large cities, followed by medium cities, and eventually an entire state. Just look at California, New York, Minnesota, and many others. It's a sound long term strategy.

Like Rush said, their whole strategy is figuring out how to trick the voters into thinking they are on their side.

The good news for the Republicans is that democrats are incapable of moving to the center, and any attempt to do it is patently obvious.

The Democrats plan will again be that if you don't vote the right way to mostly peacefully protest and light fires in your town.

"Moderate Democrat" is an oxymoron. It's like saying "moderate plague virus" or "moderate rattlesnake".

Both of them?
The left wing nut jobs have taken over the party. Whatever is left of the "moderates" has no power to effect change, short of switching parties, which will never happen. Hopefully, the entire party will be led over the cliff.

The voters of these dummies believe they are winning with strong left-wing candidates who lie about who they are to get elected; this group is simply trying to figure out how to keep on lying lie about who they are to keep on getting elected.
FTA
"The location of the conference was no accident. South Carolina has been pivotal in Democratic presidential primaries, including boosting Joe Biden to victory in 2020. Although a new calendar from the Democratic National Committee won’t be ready for several months, Bennett said Democrats expect the state to remain influential."
Yeah, okay. Never mind that joe biden didn't actually win the 2020 election. What else you got, dummies?

They will use the method they've used over and over again (Spanberger being glaringly obvious recently) and that is run as a moderate or, better yet, a conservative leaning moderate to get into office. It's all downhill after that to go full blown socialist/communist.

The Dems' message to voters: We hate Trump (eff Trump!!) and we think most of you are too stupid to see through our lies so you'll continue to vote for us. However, the Dems do seem to get their voters out to vote in any greater numbers in any and kind of elections unlike Republican and/or Trump voters.

The problem the Democrats have always had is that they have to hide their true agenda to win elections. The extremist loons that have taken over the Party make that impossible. Mamdani and Spanberger paved the way for their new strategy. Just lie. The sheep fell for it. This needs to be highlighted in every Congressional campaign in the country. As far as 2028, right now their messaging is irrelevant. They have no viable candidate and they know it.

#1: Unfortunately, you are spot on. Those of us in the Old Dominion who did NOT vote for Spam-burglar will have to suffer with her, and the Dem Commonwealth House of Delegates and Senate for a little while. My hope is that they overplay their hand so much that a wave of sanity suddenly washes over the state, and we elect some normal people.
Of course, those counties up north (Fairfax, Prince William, Loudon, etc.) seem to out-weigh us in the deep blue Dem category. Still holding out hope

They are right. If you want to win, run like VA Gov. Spanberger. Run in the middle and swing crazily left when you've fooled enough voters.

The democrats' problem is that if they get rid of the young, stupid, racist, radical, green-haired, Marxist, sexually-deviated members, the party would disappear like a puff of smoke.

'LET'S PRETEND TO BE MODERATE' worked well for Abigail Spanberger in Virginia. I did not realize that the American flag had been co-opted by conservatives. The lefties use the flag as well; they just chose to burn it. Same with the Pledge of Allegiance, no conservative would complain if they heard a leftie reciting it.

You are exactly right, #8. That's why our Second Amendment is going to be the one that saves the country. Actually, it's the affirmation of the Second Amendment, not the formality, that counts because we aren't going to give up our means of self defense from the lunatics no matter how many of our rights they intend to take away. Think of a country-wide Lexington.
