Protest Culture Is Annoying and Un-American

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., likes to argue that the “whole point” of protesting is to make people “uncomfortable.” Debate. Dissent. Running highly misleading political ads on TV. These are all part of our great tradition of political discourse. In this, as in so much else, the Democrat darling is incorrect. Taking to the streets to disrupt the lives of average citizens is a leftist ideal, not an American one. It’s antithetical to the highest virtue of republicanism, namely, minding your own business.

David's story title already explains why the left does what it does. To be annoying, disruptive, and a royal pain in the ass. Unfortunately, it is what the left does and how their heads are wired. Some of the labor unions come to mind. Hard to explain why the left is wired this way. In the long run, the left will not win with these tactics. Alinsky and Obie are wrong.

Not only are these protesters acting like children, they’ve lost touch with reality and are actually childlike. They think that their mistaken beliefs will protect them from the consequences of their actions. The lesbian partner of Renee Good cried at ICE officers after Good was shot, saying “why did you use real bullets?” They believe in socialism because they think it will create utopia. They think that calling people names will change their minds. If you play stupid games, you’ll win stupid prizes.

What she is describing is not protest. It is revolutionary action. The revolutionary vanguard is to foment chaos and anarchy. Out of that chaos comes revolution.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio certainly has shown how talented he is at the job. He seems to have played a big part in a lot of the deals that the Trump team has pulled off. He's also been very skilled at laying out the Trump agenda and showing its worth, including while testifying before Congress. Rubio was testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday. He laid out the progress that had been happening in Venezuela because of the U.S. pressure. This is competence:

No one ever said that the anti-ICE crew was smart. Their whole premise is wrong from the jump, that they should be trying to stop the enforcement of federal law. But beyond that, while they may be organized, they're also frequently wrong, such as when they harass people they think are ICE but who aren't. They don't get the irony of their grilling American citizens on who they are and if they have ID, even as they argue against deporting people who are here illegally.

It was hardly necessary to read the headlines Sunday morning to know that the corporate media, like Minnesota’s irresponsible governor Tim Walz, would effectively accuse federal immigration officers of brutally executing Alex Pretti. For example, a New York Times “analysis” fails to mention that Pretti was an anti-ICE activist who had interfered with the apprehension of a criminal suspect, and was violently resisting arrest when the officers realized he was armed. The Times falsely claims, “An agent had already removed Mr. Pretti’s gun when two other agents opened fire, shooting him in the back as he lay on the ground.”

Back when Attorney General Keith Ellison was a mere Congressman instead of the Attorney General of my state, he passed only one bill during his 12 years in that august body. Of all the bills he sponsored, he was able to successfully pass only one. It must have been really important to him to put it all on the line to convince his colleagues to go along with him, right? After all, it wasn't to rename a post office or anything. It was to actually change a policy intended to prevent money laundering. He had to be pretty passionate and persuasive. So what was that bill?

In the run-up to the 2016 Democratic Party convention, FBI Director James Comey gained access to at least eight thumb drives containing large volumes of former Secretary Hillary Clinton’s sensitive State Department emails – as well as some from President Obama – that appeared to have been compromised by foreign hackers. Instead of investigating the explosive new batch of evidence revealed in recently declassified documents, Comey rushed ahead to close an investigation into whether Clinton improperly transmitted and received classified material from a private, unsecured server she kept in her basement. Comey also took the extraordinary step of bypassing the attorney general and personally exonerating Clinton of wrongdoing

The antics of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have been much in the news of late, but the corporate media has studiously ignored the legal and historical context of his refusal to comply with federal immigration law. Minnesota is just one of 16 Democrat-controlled states that have enacted measures that violate the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2), which provides that federal law takes precedence over conflicting laws passed by states. These Democrats are reenacting the nullification crisis that historians regard as a precursor to the Civil War.

Remember 2020, the halcyon days of mask mandates? I was working in New Jersey when the entire COVID panic started, and one would have thought the very air had turned radioactive. Many people accepted it as a silly necessity, but there are always those who take things to a ridiculous level. We all remember the sights of people driving alone, in their personal cars, wearing masks, or walking alone, outside, on a sunny day, again wearing a mask. That's OK. I've always thought that stupid people should be conspicuous. Sanity may be returning, here and there. Now, at Oxford University, former double-mask advocate Professor Trish Greenhalgh has

Last Thursday Vice President JD Vance joined a White House press briefing to discuss initiatives the Trump administration is taking to investigate the pervasive welfare fraud that has been discovered in Minnesota. He was inevitably asked questions about the death of Renee Good after she attempted to drive her SUV over an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Vance described the media coverage of the death as “disgraceful,” and followed up with this question: “You guys are meant to report the truth. How have you let yourselves become agents of propaganda?”

It was hardly necessary to consult the Delphic Oracle to know that every Democrat within reach of a microphone would denounce President Trump’s military action against Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. It was, however, surprising to discover how ignorant the Democrats are about the President’s authority to deploy military forces. Saturday morning, for example, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) brayed, “The Trump administration has not sought congressional authorization for the use of military force and has failed to properly notify Congress in advance of the operation in Venezuela.” Jeffries is evidently unaware of the War Powers Resolution of 1973 (WPR).

If you have struggled to find any reason to support the Democratic Party, you are by no means alone. A new Quinnipiac poll revealed last week that 73 percent of voters disapprove of the way the Democrats in Congress are handling their job. Yet, somehow, the party’s candidates managed to overperform its 2024 margins in all five House special elections this year. How did they work this miracle? One clue can perhaps be found in the recent revelations about election “irregularities” in Fulton County, Georgia. During a recent hearing of the Georgia State Election Board (SEB), an attorney for the county admitted that 315,000 illegally certified votes were included

Never again,” Walz, the 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee, said in an interview with MS NOW. Walz had said this month that he would not seek re-election as governor — sending shock waves through state and national politics — but he did not go so far as to say he would not consider another elected position down the line. In explaining his decision Wednesday, Walz talked about the

Hillary Clinton took to social media to express support for the rioters in Minneapolis even as the disgraced former candidate and her husband were dodging a congressional subpoena looking into their relationship with family friend and Clinton Foundation co-founder Jeffrey Epstein. After condemning the Trump administration’s push to deport illegal alien criminals from Minneapolis, despite the obstruction of violent leftist rioters who had tried to murder federal law enforcement agents and bit off an agent’s finger, Clinton urged directing funding to the rioters. “In Minnesota, scores of ordinary people are bravely looking out for their neighbors, defending their communities, and protesting lawless violence,” she tweeted. “Here’s how to stand with them.”

Hunter Biden says it doesn’t matter that he has “ghosted” his 7-year-old daughter with ex-stripper Lunden Roberts because he never agreed to be a part of her life, according to a stone-hearted new legal filing. The 55-year-old former first son argued Tuesday in new court papers that the contentious Arkansas child support case for daughter Navy Joan Roberts shouldn’t be reopened after he and his baby mama settled in 2023. But Roberts, 34, earlier this month said Hunter should be jailed for failing to uphold his end of the bargain, claiming he’s refusing to talk to Navy and not giving her pieces of his artwork before it dramatically plunged in value

Sherill’s administration will soon be launching a “portal,” she said, so New Jerseyans “can upload all their cell phone videos and alert people” about local immigration operations. It was unclear how much this portal would cost Garden State taxpayers to launch.

As most know by now, Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” global warming propaganda film turned 20 a few days ago. It won a couple of Oscars in 2007, one for best documentary. The latter should be returned. The movie was filled with errors. Exalting the celluloid screed with an Academy Award for best documentary is the equivalent of handing the Nobel Peace Prize to a terrorist, an incompetent, a fraud, an unaccomplished charlatan, and, yes, Gore himself, because it was far more a faux-umentary than an honest account of the facts. In the same year that Gore was given his participation trophy,
