This is How We Should Have Responded to COVID-19

Since March 2020 there has been an almost continuous refrain that the UK was not prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic – across the mainstream media, at the UK Covid Inquiry and most recently by Dominic Cummings in a Spectator interview. So much so that it seems to have become an accepted ‘truth’ regardless of the actual facts. Nevertheless there are facts, even in the postmodern dystopian world we now live in.Firstly, we did have a detailed UK Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Strategy published in 2011 and it was explicit in saying that it could be adapted to respond to other respiratory virus pandemics,

First thing we should have done when Covid came into the picture was tell W H O to get screwed.

If anything, the entire world was overprepared for COVID-19. After a round of concentrated fear-mongering, Greed, Panic and the reckless deployment of the new, untested and dangerous mRNA technology was imposed on the majority after the governments shut down everything and used the psychological tool of useless masks to keep people in line, it took them years to admit to the complete failure and breakdown but it did enable the expense and giveaway of billions of dollars in the attempt. Big Pharma made an undeserved fortune on their ineffective inventions. If one useful thing came from this abuse of government, it's that most people will never fall for a scam like this again. Those who didn't fall for it went through a lot of grief.

As far as medical scams are concerned I'd like to agree with #3 however an even bigger medical scam is currently in play and its called statins for lowering "bad" cholesterol. After getting a very severe auto-immune response from statins I started doing research, simplest explanation providing all pertient details for those interested can be found in Joe Rogan episode #1979 where a medical expert lays out all the fascinating, and scary, details. And don't get me started on the medical community deciding several years ago (SPRINT Study) that everyone regardless of age has to get their blood pressure below 120/80 which is the main justification for the entire medical community to demand / presribe statins while turning their heads away from extremely serious side effects.

New York City’s new Democratic Socialist (communist) Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently made it clear that the children of people in the country illegally will be included in the city’s new ‘free’ childcare program. He went on to reaffirm New York’s status as a sanctuary city and pushed lies about ICE arresting people without showing warrants. It’s amazing that New York City is going down this road just as a daycare centered fraud scandal is on the verge of unseating the governor and attorney general in Minnesota.

Bills pending in the Virginia state legislature could raise the state income tax a lot. The most likely to pass bill would increase the state income tax rate from 5.75% to 8% on incomes over $600,000 and 10% on incomes over $1,000,000. Another bill would impose an additional 3.8% tax (a “net investment income tax”) on most income above $500,000. If both bills pass, Virginia would have an 13.8% tax rate. That would be higher than what is currently the highest state tax rate in America, the 13.3% rate in California for households with million-dollar incomes.

Distrust “is the new default instinct” in UK society, according to the Edelman Trust Barometer, which examines the trust that people have in business, government, media and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Its report revealed a deepening erosion of trust as “grievance has devolved into insularity” across the developed world. It found that some 76% of people in the UK are either unwilling or hesitant to trust someone whose values, facts, problem-solving approaches or cultural background differ from theirs, leaving just 24% open to trusting across divides. More than a third of Britons (35%) would rather leave a job or move to another department than report to a manager with very different values.

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday to field questions about his lawfare against President Donald Trump and egregious investigative tactics. And boy was it a doozy. Throughout the more-than-5-hour hearing, Republicans pressed Smith on numerous topics, ranging from his questionable appointment to his subpoenaing the phone records of GOP members of Congress as part of his Arctic Frost probe into Trump. For their part, Democrats did everything imaginable to run interference for Smith and obfuscate his abusive investigations.

We reported Thursday on the bizarre trophy FBI officials gave themselves to congratulate their team on the failed Arctic Frost probe, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Don Quixote-like quest to destroy Donald Trump over alleged “election interference.” Smith himself faced prolonged grilling Thursday at a House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Hearing, and the short version is: he came off looking like a partisan hack who had exactly zero scruples when it came to his maniacal effort to bring down the (at the time private citizen, and now once again president) Donald Trump.

Welcome to "The New Monroe Doctrine," where I give you an update on what's going on in the Western Hemisphere, south of our border, especially as it relates to the United States. First, thank for all the kind emails (yes, I'm still behind on responding) and comments you sent me last week, saying you want more Latin America and Western Hemisphere stuff. I'm actually working on some big stories, but those articles are definitely a passion project and are often research-heavy and, to be honest, not the most lucrative, so I have to balance them out.

Everyone knows about “the fog of war.” What about the fog of prewar? There are a lot of similarities. In the fog of war, you can’t trust media reports, in part because the media have been fed disinformation by government sources and in part because much of the media is partisan, incompetent, or both. The same is true in the fog of prewar. There is lots of disinformation, oodles of partisan reporting, impatient jockeying for position, precedence, and “the scoop.” But the distorting miasma of prewar exhibits something else: irritable impatience. “Why aren’t the authorities doing something? Where are they?”

For decades, K–12 schools across the United States have honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a way that reflected both his values and his example. On MLK Day, children have volunteered at food pantries, assembled hygiene kits for shelters, cleaned up local parks and donated books to libraries. The message was simple and powerful: citizenship requires service, and freedom comes with responsibility. After 15 years of advocacy, President Ronald Reagan signed the King Holiday Bill into law in 1983, establishing the third Monday in January as a federal holiday. It was meant to be a unifying moment in American civic life —

There’s seemingly no escape from New York – the New York tax man, that is. The Empire State is “extremely aggressive” in chasing down wealthy people who attempt to escape high taxes with moves to Florida and beyond – and that could escalate as New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani works to increase taxes on top earners, experts told The Post. Many New Yorkers who mull a move believe it’s enough to follow the “six-months-and-a-day” rule, which maintains you’re a resident if you spend 184 days or more in New York, not including airport layovers and hospital stays.

A source familiar with the note’s contents confirmed its authenticity to The Post. “Dear Jonas,” reads the message, first reported by PBS. “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant,

When people travel for a training class, they often drive. Transporting guns then is relatively easy, all things considered, though there are some things folks should be aware of. Others fly, and they transport their guns via their flight, but that's kind of a pain in the butt, too. But what about when your gun needs to go to the other side of the country, but you don't? With anything else, you just ship it. You put it in a box, weigh it, and find the cheapest acceptable shipping option. While my experience tends to put the USPS at the bottom of that list,

Iran claimed this week to have successfully tested its first long-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), a capability that would enable Tehran to strike the eastern seaboard of the United States, according to regime-controlled outlets. The regime purportedly conducted its missile launch from an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps base in the city of Semnan, firing toward Siberia with the approval of the Russian government. The missile would have traveled up to 3,700 miles to reach its target, though video of the supposed launch only shows an airborne projectile soaring through the clouds. European leaders worked themselves up into full-blown hysteria before President Trump spoke to the World Economic Forum this week with wild claims that Trump planned a U.S. invasion of Greenland that would destroy the NATO alliance and the rules-based international order. A couple of dozen European troops were hurriedly sent to Greenland. French President Macron called for an emergency G7 summit. European leaders also discussed implementing a “bazooka” trade retaliation against the United States. But when Trump spoke at the Davos Summit on Wednesday, these hair-on-fire claims melted away in the face of his masterful speech, which laid out in depth his successful record of promoting global security and ending wars.

There are, Lesko said in one of his countless ads decades ago, “15,000 programs you can use to get a better job, get an education, or start your own business. Those who know about the programs are the ones who get the money!” Lesko was right about how easy it is to get taxpayer money. What Lesko didn’t say is that it’s easy to do even when it violates the law — especially if you live in a state run by Democrats.

As millions of people braced for a massive winter storm to hit two-thirds of the country, grocery store shelves in the South, Midwest and Northeast started to look a little bare. Two essentials everyone seems to stock up on ahead of winter weather, bread and milk, were hit especially hard. But why do people gravitate to those two items in particular? Milk could go bad if you lose power, after all, and bread isn’t exactly a strong source of nutrition. Accuweather reports the idea of buying milk and bread before a winter storm dates back to the Great Blizzard of 1978, which hit New England.
