An “unlucky” illegal immigrant allegedly crashed into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle and was subsequently nabbed, the agency said. “This blooper is one for the books!” U.S. Border Patrol official Gregory K. A female Honduran national allegedly ran a red light in Slidell, Louisiana and plowed into an ICE vehicle that was in the area as part of the agency’s Operation Catahoula Crunch. The troubles just keep piling up for New York City's self-described Democratic Socialist Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani even before he gets sworn in and moves into Gracie Mansion in the new year.
The latest issue involves the person he just tapped to lead the city's Fire Department (FDNY), a woman with no fire department experience, something that swiftly went viral on social media over Christmas because of what is being emphasized about the new fire chief instead: [emphasis added]
...Mamdani is set to take office in January and has appointed Lillian Bonsignore, a veteran emergency medical services leader, to lead the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY).

India’s government is escalating its protests against the State Department’s new curbs on rampant visa fraud by migrant workers at U.S. embassies.
“While we do understand … that visa-related issues pertain to the Sovereign Domain of any country, we have flagged those issues and our concerns of our nationals to the U.S. side, both in New Delhi and in Washington D.C.” an Indian government spokesman said on December 26.
“There are several people who have been stranded in India for an extended period of time … These [delays] have also caused hardship to their families … and also to the education of their children,” he said.

We love witty and on-the-nose ads, don't we? There is a collection of commercials that stick with us, surviving the years and deluge of media fighting for our attention. The mosquito that exploded after biting the guy who put Tabasco on his pizza, the "feliz navidad" Corona Christmas lights on a singular palm tree, the Dumb Ways to Die PSA for Australian train safety: They all have a permanent residence in our brain.
The International House of Pancakes (IHOP, as Americans know it) has entered the chat. Debuting a brand new commercial, the national breakfast chain has struck gold. (X) Here are five reasons reasons this commercial deserves a spot

Nothing says "politics" more than pandering to various constituencies, and it's not like most of us can't recognize when a politician is being phony to send a message to some groups that he cares about them, especially their votes.
Generally speaking, most of us don't get upset about this because in a pluralistic society there will always be some of this, and in fact, it is rather disturbing when a politician makes clear he dislikes a significant chunk of his constituency. "I represent white people, or black people, or pledge my allegiance to some other country. (X) Several Democrats have outright stated that their allegiance belongs to some other country,

Imagine if you were a Marxist who hated New York City for its status as the de facto economic capital of the world’s foremost capitalist state, and yet you are clever and resourceful enough to capitalize upon the American left’s increasingly dominant and reflexive anti-Americanism and socialism to get yourself elected mayor of that very city. Would you pursue policies that would be destructive to the well-being of New Yorkers? Of course you would.
The ace firefighter whom Mamdani chose is one Lillian Bonsignore, but there’s just one catch: she has never actually been a firefighter. As a news report stated, “she’s confident that won’t matter.”

Our extremely sensitive British cousins have struck a blow for humanity. Or, rather, for lobsterdom: “Boiling live lobsters to be banned under animal rights reforms.”
In its animal welfare strategy, published on Monday, the government said that “live boiling is not an acceptable killing method”, while also setting out new farming standards and banning trail hunting.
The strategy, which sets out a series of protections for pets, farmed animals and wild animals, said the government would publish guidance on the best way to kill decapod crustaceans such as crabs, lobsters and prawns.
I would have thought that being plunged into boiling water would be a pretty humane way to kill a lobster.

A high school freshman has set his eyes on running for governor of Vermont. The 14-year-old Dean Roy can't vote, drive, or drink yet legally, but wants to be the head of the state. He is also the youngest person to ever start a political party, which he will be running under.
Roy told the Daily Mail that in his run for governor, he "hope[s] that this mission ... leads to more youth getting involved." If he is elected, he would be the first US governor under 18. Previously, 13-year-old Ethan Sonneborn also ran for governor of the state of Vermont but did so unsuccessfully.

As Hillary Clinton closed in on the presidential nomination in the spring of 2016, FBI field officers advised colleagues at headquarters to press her on the foreign donations flowing to the Clinton Foundation while she steered American foreign policy and whether she had used the charity as a campaign piggy bank.
But the FBI HQ in Washington — a city in which the former secretary of state and first lady wields enormous influence — let the trail go cold.
FBI New York Assistant Director in Charge Diego Rodriguez advised agents in Washington to ask Clinton several questions about the foundation, which are reproduced in full in documents released

One has to be concerned about the safety of President Donald Trump after assassination attempts, the hatred of the left, and even threats from foreign governments.
That's why security lapses, like what happened in September at the Joe’s seafood restaurant in D.C., raise big questions. Protesters got almost within arm's reach of President Donald Trump and his Cabinet members when they arrived for dinner. How were they allowed to get this close, and why hadn't the Secret Service ensured that the restaurant was secure before Trump and his party arrived? And what does that mean for security if they let that go by? The protesters were ridiculous, chanting, "Trump is

Well, that was snow disappointing.
The Big Apple only received a third of the predicted winter wonderland dumping — but enough precipitation still fell to snarl hundreds of fliers’ holiday plans.
New Yorkers woke up Saturday morning to a roughly 4-inch blanket, a far cry from the nearly 11-inch pummeling city officials had warned was incoming.
The storm was going into a lot of cold air, which is dense. It kind of slows things down quite a bit,” explained Accuweather meteorologist Melissa Constancer.
New York’s sharp change in forecast came around 9 p.m. Friday, when the city’s Emergency Management department alerted that between just 2 and 5 inches were predicted to fall

Florida Democratic U.S. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who was indicted by a grand jury last month for allegedly stealing money from FEMA, published Thursday what appears to be an edited version of her House portrait minus a fancy ring.
The indictment alleges Cherfilus-McCormick, her brother Edwin Cherfilus and several co-defendants stole $5 million from FEMA, laundered the proceeds, and used them to fund her 2021 congressional campaign.
Court documents allege that part of the stolen funds were used to purchase the missing yellow diamond ring, after the indictment claimed she cashed a cashier’s check worth approximately $109,000 to buy a ring on or about Sept. 1, 2021.

Look for wild vote fluctuations for days after polls close. Counteroffensives include an executive order by President Trump followed by a challenge to Mississippi's counting process that has not reached the U.S. Supreme Court. Ohio's legislature voted to require all its ballots to arrive on election night to be tallied. With constant pressure from liberal activists, some states now dispatch mail-in ballots 45-60 days before Election Day and allow the counting of such absentee ballots as many as three weeks afterward, creating an election trimester that causes vote tallies to wildly fluctuate days after polls close and increasingly erodes American's trust.

When I came to, the van was pulling up to a building, a brand-new skyscraper with a Japanese name on the front that I didn’t catch. They hustled me into the building, which seemed deserted, and on to an elevator. We rode the elevator to the top floor.
I still had no idea what was going on, but when they headed

EU leaders from across the spectrum of their collective assembly, are furious with the administration of President Donald Trump for restricting their entry into the United States by blocking their visa permissions. However, these same EU leaders are the people who sent operatives into the United States in order to interfere in our 2024 election.
The Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, sums up the European position: “The decision by the U.S. to impose travel restrictions on European citizens and officials is unacceptable and an attempt to challenge our sovereignty. Europe will keep defending its values (snip) and the right to regulate our own space.”

In an interview with Harrison Berger, formerly of Drop Site News (which received $250,000 from George Soros), Tucker Carlson claimed that the recent TPUSA poll showing that a majority of attendees thought that “Radical Islam” was the greatest threat to America was really an Israeli “op”.
“I don’t know anyone in the United States in the last 24 years who’s been killed by radical Islam.” Tucker Carlson claimed. He argued that, “I believe in measuring reality a little more empirically” meaning that since, presumably Tucker didn’t know them personally, they don’t matter and don’t exist.

A key GOP senator is expressing optimism that Republicans and Democrats will agree to a deal that would extend expiring health care subsidies, but the effort faces an uphill climb in winning the backing of leaders in both parties.
Without a deal, health insurance premiums are projected to spike by double digits next month, yet Senate leaders John Thune (R-S.D.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) each have reasons to shy away from backing a bipartisan deal. At the same time, failure to pass a bipartisan deal to rein in rising premiums could set the stage for another government -

“The Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans,” Trump said. “Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country!”
This is a reversal from earlier this week, when Trump actually defended Bill Clinton and decried the exposure of “other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago.”
While taking questions from reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, Trump told reporters that he’s “always gotten along with Bill Clinton.” Trump added, “I hate to see photos come out of him, but this is what the Democrats, mostly Democrats, and a couple of bad Republicans, are asking for.”

On Friday, FBI Director Kash Patel took to X to announce the official shuttering of the J. Edgar Hoover FBI Headquarters building. Patel first made this announcement in May during an interview on Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures program with Maria Bartiromo. Since Congress holds the power of the purse to designate what happens with federal buildings, Patel cleared the proper channels in order to finally execute his plan. The Hoover Building has been a money-suck since its inception. Original construction was planned to be set in 1963 for an estimated $60 million. The construction wasn't completed until over 10 years later, to the tune of $126 million.

A viral video highlighting the Quality Learning Center in Minneapolis has reignited scrutiny of alleged fraud in Minnesota's child care programs under Governor Tim Walz (D).The clip, posted to social media accounts by independent videographer Nick Shirley, shows that the daycare in question, which Fox News reports is licensed to care for up to 99 children, was seriously bereft of children.
"There’s no one here," Shirley says in the video.
At one point, he and another man approach the building, prompting a woman there to shout to others, "Don’t open up. It’s ICE."
"Go away. You’re not welcome here. Shame on you," the woman states.

The left seems to have decided that sedition is their ticket to winning over the American people and taking down Donald Trump, and they are going all-in on their efforts.
First, it was the now-infamous "Seditious Six" – a group of Democrat lawmakers who put out a video pleading with U.S. troops to not "give up the ship" and to consider defying orders from above if they deem them to be unlawful. The video was apparently in response to efforts by the Trump administration to cut off the flow of dangerous drugs into the U.S. with military-led strikes on drug-smuggling boats in the waters near Venezuela.

The Times, which consistently takes a “freedom FROM religion” approach except when that religion is the LGBTQ dogma or Islam, had to work to ignore the part in the Declaration of Independence that says

Occasionally, she demonstrates a willingness to 2nd guess her own impulses but today is not one of those days. Today's column is pure holiday wish fulfillment. It's titled "Trump Is Getting Weaker, and the Resistance Is Getting Stronger."
It has been a gruesome year for those who see Donald Trump’s kakistocracy clearly. He returned to office newly emboldened, surrounded by obsequious tech barons, seemingly in command of not just the country but also the zeitgeist. Since then, it’s been a parade of nightmares

The Washington Post editorial board continues to challenge its progressive readers today with an editorial taking a shot at socialized medicine in the UK. As the paper notes, the UK's National Health Service is in the midst of an annual winter crisis reminiscent of COVID. The cause this year is the regular flu which is overwhelming hospitals and causing the nation's health secretary to warn sick people to stay home unless absolutely necessary.
The NHS has existed for years in a perpetual state of emergency. This was the case before the pandemic hit, and it has only gotten worse. Hospital corridors overflow and routine procedures get canceled
