India’s government is escalating its protests against the State Department’s new curbs on rampant visa fraud by migrant workers at U.S. embassies.
“While we do understand … that visa-related issues pertain to the Sovereign Domain of any country, we have flagged those issues and our concerns of our nationals to the U.S. side, both in New Delhi and in Washington D.C.” an Indian government spokesman said on December 26.
“There are several people who have been stranded in India for an extended period of time … These [delays] have also caused hardship to their families … and also to the education of their children,” he said.

A high school freshman has set his eyes on running for governor of Vermont. The 14-year-old Dean Roy can't vote, drive, or drink yet legally, but wants to be the head of the state. He is also the youngest person to ever start a political party, which he will be running under.
Roy told the Daily Mail that in his run for governor, he "hope[s] that this mission ... leads to more youth getting involved." If he is elected, he would be the first US governor under 18. Previously, 13-year-old Ethan Sonneborn also ran for governor of the state of Vermont but did so unsuccessfully.

As Hillary Clinton closed in on the presidential nomination in the spring of 2016, FBI field officers advised colleagues at headquarters to press her on the foreign donations flowing to the Clinton Foundation while she steered American foreign policy and whether she had used the charity as a campaign piggy bank.
But the FBI HQ in Washington — a city in which the former secretary of state and first lady wields enormous influence — let the trail go cold.
FBI New York Assistant Director in Charge Diego Rodriguez advised agents in Washington to ask Clinton several questions about the foundation, which are reproduced in full in documents released

Arizona state Senator Janae Shamp is advancing legislation that would require Arizona to commission a formal study of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” arguing that the phenomenon constitutes a legitimate mental health condition. Senate Bill 1070, if passed, would direct the Arizona Department of Health Services to conduct or support research to “advance the understanding of Trump Derangement Syndrome, including its origins, manifestations and long-term effects on individuals, communities and public discourse.” The text of the bill reads, the Arizona state "legislature finds that: The United States thrives on liberty, opportunity and civil discourse, yet extreme political polarization has fractured national unity, threatening the democratic values cherished by Arizonans."

The CEO of the Obama Foundation offered an inside look at the former president's controversial presidential library, addressing lingering concerns over its design.
The monumental project in Chicago is all compiled on a 20-acre campus filled with parks, playgrounds, and the 225-foot 'eye-sore' museum tower.
The CEO of the Obama Foundation, Valerie Jarrett, told CBS News Chicago that they are excited to open their doors next June.
Despite her enthusiasm, locals have raised concerns about its appearance.
However, the CEO explained how this investment and project will demonstrate how diversity can 'better represent the community in which we're located and be a national model for how you can be inclusive and have a world-class

The California DMV is facing a lawsuit brought on behalf of nearly 20,000 immigrant truckers over the state’s plans to revoke their commercial drivers’ licenses (CDLs).
The Asian Law Caucus and the Sikh Coalition, along with the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in an effort to stop the California DMV from canceling the CDLs, which the complaint says would “result in mass work stoppages” starting Jan 5, 2026.
“This class-action lawsuit is brought on behalf of the Jakara Movement and five commercial drivers who have been deprived of their rights and livelihoods,” a joint statement from the Asian Law Caucus and Sikh Coalition said.

WASHINGTON — For Christmas, former President Joe Biden gave everyone scrolling through X something to talk about by sharing a strange family photo — with himself hardly visible.
Biden, 83, shared the image of himself and seven members of his family around 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, writing: “Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love.”
Surprisingly, the gaffe-prone 46th president wasn’t front and center, as is common for family patriarchs. Instead, former first son Hunter Biden, who once used the Secret Service code name “Chieftain,” and his adult daughter Maisy occupy the prime location.
The ex-president’s own face is partially visible in a corner behind

For whatever reason, my X feed has been inundated with every politician's holiday greetings — domestic, foreign, even the Israeli Defense Forces! Most are pictures, memes, or videos offering season's greetings, happy holidays, or Merry Christmas through a variety of ways and means. The fact that elected leaders are now taking the time to post these greetings at all signals a distinct cultural shift for the better. But you can tell there's still a disconnect with some of them as they throw something together out of obligation rather than real commitment. The ones that played it safe and kept it simple were wise

It was not the best of Christmas seasons for Gen. George Patton in December of 1944.
Yes, the general’s Third Army was marching through Europe toward Berlin. Yes, the Nazis were less than a year away from defeat. So, too, were the Japanese. But as Patton’s tank division approached Bastogne, a southern Belgium stronghold occupied by 15,000 U.S. troops and besieged by 50,000 German troops encircling it, he had a problem. Rain. Lots of it. “There is about four inches of liquid mud over everything,” Patton told his wife in a letter, “and it rains all the time, not hard but steadily.” What’s worse, he didn’t have the air cover

The federal government spent tens of millions of dollars on gruesome and pointless experiments on animals from dogs to dolphins, according to 2025's "Festivus" report by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., which uses the Seinfeld-invented Dec. 23 holiday to catalog more than $1.6 trillion in what he perceives as wasteful government spending.
Paul especially highlights animal experiments in the report, which credits investigations by the anti-animal testing White Coat Waste Project for bringing several to his attention. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth also credited WCW and Paul with exposing the Navy's sodomization of cats in last year's Festivus report.

The U.S. economy grew this summer at the fastest pace in two years, far outpacing economists’ forecasts.
The Commerce Department said U.S. gross domestic product—the government’s official economic scorecard—rose at a seasonally and inflation-adjusted 4.3 percent annual rate in the third quarter. The report on the July through September period was delayed due to the shutdown.
“Today’s blockbuster, expectation-smashing GDP report is the latest proof that President Trump’s America First trade and economic agenda continues to turn the page on the Biden economic disaster: American consumers are spending, and American exports are surging,” White House spokesman Kush Desai said. “President Trump built the greatest economy in the world in

We should have free health care. Just like Canada.
This ‘free health care’ comes with a 3 month wait time for a referral to a specialist, and another 3 months to get treated, with 2 month wait times for a CT scan, 4 months for an MRI and over a month for an ultrasound. Mostly it’s just easier not to bother. Half a million Canadians left ERs without seeing a doctor. And, in one year, over 23,000 patients died waiting for surgery.
While it may take months to see a specialist, “the median wait time between first request and referral was 1 day” for Canada’s free death health care
