Christmas Eve With J.R.R. Tolkien

Original Article

It's Christmas Eve, and kids around the world are waiting for the magical moment when Father Christmas, Santa Claus himself, shows up and leaves presents underneath the tree. There's a joy in that anticipation that cannot be described. For British author J.R.R. Tolkien, professor and author, the magic of Christmas took form in the shape of illustrated stories and letters from Father Christmas, each complete with a North Pole stamp designed by Tolkien. The first North Pole stamp cost "two kisses" and was given to Tolkien's three-year-old son, John. The card inside featured a man in a red coat with the caption "Me" and the picture of a snow-covered, domed

If you like Tolkein, children, stories, and/or enchanting illustrations, you will love this.

I'm quite the J.R.R. Tolkien fan and never heard about these Christmas letters he penned to his children along with his wonderful illustrations. The man never ceases to amaze. Merry Christmas everyone!

Same as #2...I'm a huge Tolkien fan but never knew about his letters. I'll bet his children and grandchildren looked forward to those letters each year. What an inventive mind Tolkien had!! Thank you so much for posting this.

We read The Father Christmas Letters every year with our son when he was little. One of our favorite Christmas traditions. He always spent extra time looking at the pictures.

Nick Shirley is an impressive young independent video journalist who at the age of about 27, is already pretty well known for his excellent coverage of Joe Biden's open borders, making a wonderful, watchable documentary of a day in the life of an illegal alien, housed in one of New York's hotels as well as other topics, such as flooding in North Carolina. (Snip) Now he's outdone himself, taking his cell phone and a man named David he's working with, to record and expose massive Somali fraud in Minnesota. In one day -- yesterday -- he made this 42 minute video exposing a Somali racket in Minnesota here:

Imagine if you were a Marxist who hated New York City for its status as the de facto economic capital of the world’s foremost capitalist state, and yet you are clever and resourceful enough to capitalize upon the American left’s increasingly dominant and reflexive anti-Americanism and socialism to get yourself elected mayor of that very city. Would you pursue policies that would be destructive to the well-being of New Yorkers? Of course you would. The ace firefighter whom Mamdani chose is one Lillian Bonsignore, but there’s just one catch: she has never actually been a firefighter. As a news report stated, “she’s confident that won’t matter.”

The Islamic Republic of Iran is at war with the United States, and has been for a long time. Back in Nov. 2013, as negotiations continued toward what ultimately became Obama’s Iran nuke deal, Iranian political analyst Mohammad Sadeq Al-Hosseini said: “We are engaged in a fierce war with the Americans on all levels.” That war continues to this day, and the mullahs who rule the Islamic Republic have just opened a new front. IranWire reported Friday that “the Islamic Republic has launched what it calls a ‘hybrid warfare headquarters,’” and that this is a major operation, as the staff consists of over 40,000 Islamic seminary students.

At the gut level, most of our politics can be reduced to a simple question: “Whose fault is it?” Conservatives and liberals blame one another, nationalists point the finger at globalists, and for the woke left, it’s always the fault of straight white men. In the fever swamps of the internet, an age-old answer is now growing in popularity: the Jews. Indeed, in the past year or so, it has become impossible not to notice the number of influencers—led by Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Candace Owens—who are aggressively pushing, with varying degrees of subtlety, what the kids call the “Jewish Question,” or JQ for short.

President Trump has made a hard turn toward his affordability agenda, which is good because people are always economically uncertain, and especially so after President Eggplant face-planted the economy. (Snip)Right now, it’s all about the 2026 midterms – we need the voters to understand that we hear them, that we have their backs, and that we are doing things to make their lives better. The big stuff is done. Trump got an early start on deregulation, the trade reforms and deals, the Big Beautiful Bill, and other large-scale initiatives, so next year things should really get kicking. All the indicators are up, but it’s important to get that message out.

There are psychopaths who are prepared to sacrifice thousands or even millions of lives to spread their own ideology and power or in pursuit of crazed ambitions that only serve them. We have seen this before with Stalin, Hitler, Mao and others. We see it now from Starmer, Macron, Von der Leyen and all the European, EU and British leaders pushing for war with Russia. And no, this isn’t like them calling Trump Literally Hitler. The difference is that everything they pretend to fear about Trump (or Farage in the UK) isn’t real. But if we look at the classic fascist combination of militarism and total control, or corporate

Last week I wrote about the presentation, at Oslo City Hall, of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize to María Corina Machado of Venezuela, who has led a courageous struggle for freedom against her country’s monstrous dictator, Nicolás Maduro. (Snip) On the previous evening, as it happens, another freedom fighter was also welcomed in Oslo. I am referring to Tommy Robinson, the 43-year-old Englishman who has long been his country’s most vocal critic of Islamic rape gangs and of the government officials who have covered them up. I think this might be one of the most important posts I’ve written in a while — not so much for what I’ve written here, but for what I’ve highlighted. See what you think. It is about what the Left — in particular, the Boomer Left — has done to our politics. This is about something that might never get fixed. It’s about where postliberalism comes from. It’s about where Nick Fuentes comes from. (Snip) If you are shocked by Nick Fuentes, it shows that you have a heart. Evil though he is, Fuentes is merely following the path laid down by the American left for the last half century.

Why is it so hard to talk to leftists? Because, as some internet commentators have observed, they constantly pretend not to understand things. Comedian David Sedaris illustrates the phenomenon nicely in an essay for The New Yorker. Sedaris, who once joked about going back in time and smothering an infant Donald Trump, is hardly a conservative. But Sedaris built a career on noting the idiosyncrasies of his class, so his observations here aren’t without precedent. Sedaris’ troubles began, as so many do, by taking a walk in Portland, Oregon. “I lost count of the strung-out addicts I passed on my way to the doughnut shop and back

In Alabama, as in so many other states, mosques are proliferating. While in most areas of the country, politicians would quake in fear of being called “Islamophobic” and avoid expressing any concern, Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville is taking the bull by the horns, He is speaking frankly about wanting to stop the Islamic influx into his state, and receiving the predictable pushback that everyone gets when calling attention to the threat of jihad violence and the oppressive character of Sharia: he’s being called a racist, bigoted “Islamophobe.”

As economic and cultural suicide stalk Western Europe, it has initiated efforts to hobble America's technological advantage and diminish our freedoms. The first documented attacks on our open dialogue came from the UK and began in 2018 when Morgan McGreevy, Keir Starmer’s chief of staff (then Labour Together’s managing director), began and funded an outfit called Stop Funding Fake News (SFFN). Recognizing that the online news purveyors could best be silenced by depriving them of funds, it first targeted UK outfits, but moved on in an attempt to starve U.S. outfits like American Thinker, Breitbart, Zero Hedge, and the Federalist of advertising revenue, and astroturfing defamation of such sites.

“The Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans,” Trump said. “Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country!” This is a reversal from earlier this week, when Trump actually defended Bill Clinton and decried the exposure of “other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago.” While taking questions from reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, Trump told reporters that he’s “always gotten along with Bill Clinton.” Trump added, “I hate to see photos come out of him, but this is what the Democrats, mostly Democrats, and a couple of bad Republicans, are asking for.”

A key GOP senator is expressing optimism that Republicans and Democrats will agree to a deal that would extend expiring health care subsidies, but the effort faces an uphill climb in winning the backing of leaders in both parties. Without a deal, health insurance premiums are projected to spike by double digits next month, yet Senate leaders John Thune (R-S.D.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) each have reasons to shy away from backing a bipartisan deal. At the same time, failure to pass a bipartisan deal to rein in rising premiums could set the stage for another government -

The Trump administration made a point of acknowledging the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas, and the New York Times wasn’t having it. In an article entitled, “Trump Administration Emphasizes Religion in Official Christmas Messages,” the Times wanted its readers to know that once again the Trump administration is the worst, this time because people in government did not avoid “overtly religious language, as the Constitution prohibits the establishment of an official state religion.” The Times, which consistently takes a “freedom FROM religion” approach except when that religion is the LGBTQ dogma or Islam, had to work to ignore the part in the Declaration of Independence that says

First, it was the now-infamous "Seditious Six" – a group of Democrat lawmakers who put out a video pleading with U.S. troops to not "give up the ship" and to consider defying orders from above if they deem them to be unlawful. The video was apparently in response to efforts by the Trump administration to cut off the flow of dangerous drugs into the U.S. with military-led strikes on drug-smuggling boats in the waters near Venezuela.

Our extremely sensitive British cousins have struck a blow for humanity. Or, rather, for lobsterdom: “Boiling live lobsters to be banned under animal rights reforms.” In its animal welfare strategy, published on Monday, the government said that “live boiling is not an acceptable killing method”, while also setting out new farming standards and banning trail hunting. The strategy, which sets out a series of protections for pets, farmed animals and wild animals, said the government would publish guidance on the best way to kill decapod crustaceans such as crabs, lobsters and prawns. I would have thought that being plunged into boiling water would be a pretty humane way to kill a lobster.
