The National Trust for Historic Preservation filed a lawsuit on Friday challenging President Donald Trump’s plans to construct a ballroom on the site of the demolished East Wing.
The trust, a congressionally chartered nonprofit, argued in a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia that Trump and administration officials have violated, and are continuing to violate, the Administrative Procedure Act and National Environmental Policy Act by demolishing the East Wing and moving forward with construction of the ballroom.
The complaint said the administration violated the laws when it didn’t consult with the National Capital Planning Commission or the Commission of Fine Arts and failed to conduct

I was wondering when this bunch of pearl clutchers was going to stick their noses into the matter. I've dealt with both of these agencies in the past, they are both very full of themselves. This should be fun!

Yawn! The Rats and their never ending lawfare and TDS are becoming quite tedious. I believe it was Rush who pointed out that it's a sign of how prosperous our country truly is that people have the time and money to waste on frivolous litigation and other such things.

Is this the same committee that approved the hideous Museum of African Americans on The Mall? The same museum that routinely ignores the accomplishments of conservative black Americans?

The article states that the Acts Trump supposedly violated explicitly exempt the Capital building, Supreme Court, and White House. So another pointless law suit involving plaintiffs with no standing. That won’t stop a federal judge from stopping construction until Trump wins on appeal.

Poster 5 gave me an idea: put prayer rugs in the loo. Now try and stop the construction.

Did this group of clowns sue Truman when he had the entire interior of the White House gutted?

East Wing? As the Zombies sang in 1964, she's not there. How would The National Trust for Historic Preservation react to President Truman taking the White House down to the bare walls? If any Democrat did this, there wouldn't be a peep of protest from these politically fatally poisoned hypocrites. Gatherings of over 200 at the White House used to be under a tent outside, with port-a-potties for the distinguished guests. What Trump, a longtime builder, is doing without a single cent of taxpayer money--Obama didn't do that!--with outside donations and his own money is a gift to the United States of America. The bellyachers at Historic Preservation are revealing who they are. Keep going until you're radioactive, you silly people sick with TDS, and no one with sense will ever want to touch you again.

Expanding on Poster #9's comment:
Wikipedia with photos:
The White House Reconstruction, also known as the Truman Reconstruction, was a comprehensive dismantling and rebuilding of the interior of the White House from 1949 to 1952. In 1948, after nearly a century and a half of wartime destruction and rebuilding, hurried renovations, additions of new services, technologies, the expanded third floor, and inadequate foundations, architectural and engineering investigations found that the Executive Residence portion of the White House Complex was facing near-imminent collapse, and it was deemed unsafe for occupancy......

The National Capital Planning Commission - - and the Commission of Fine Arts - - received over 80 million votes in the last national election - - several million more than President Trump did - - so they deserve to have the last word.
We must save our democracy!

I find it interesting that the Historic Preservation Trust or the Commission of Fine Arts object to the Trump Ball Room and have never said anything about the two sheds for security protection during inclement weather on the roof of the White House. They do not meet any architectural standards that I know of, but they are in view for all to see. They have been there for several administrations.
The ball room has been tastefully designed to blend with DC architecture. After delaying for years and picking nits, they will kill a desirable addition to the White House and they will have preserved the historic necessity to hold large state receptions in a big tent on the lawn with port a potty toilet facilities.
All to flout their Trump Derangement Syndrome.

This entire thing about the white house falls under, "Should have something better to do".
It's just a building. It's not even the original structure. Don't care.
