Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo launched a barrage of assaults on Zohran Mamdani about his stance on Israel and Gaza, slamming the Democratic nominee for refusing to denounce the terror group Hamas and the phrase “Globalize the intifada.” “The Assemblyman will not denounce Hamas,” Cuomo, who is running as an independent, said during the first general mayoral election debate Thursday night. “The assemblyman will not denounce his Hasan Piker, who said America deserved 9/11,” he continued. “The assemblyman just said in his response, ‘Well, it depends on occupation,'” Cuomo said, referring to Mamdani’s response to the cease-fire deal brokered by the Trump administration.

Zohran Mamdani is like many democrats who want radical Islam to remain armed and killing as many Jews and Christians as possible. It's what they do.

Ironically, Curtis Sliwa, the honest and least offensive candidate running for mayor, has the lowest polling number. I'm thinking that New York City needs this lesson if their votes match their responses. Go Mamdani, show them what your democratic socialism is all about.

President Trump commuted serial fabulist and former GOP Rep. George Santos’ seven-year prison sentence on Friday, citing “horrible” mistreatment by the Bureau of Prisons and claiming Santos’ unlawful conduct was not nearly as bad as the fibs of Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.). In a late afternoon Truth Social post, the president stated: “George has been in solitary confinement for long stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Therefore, I just signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from prison, IMMEDIATELY. Good luck George, have a great life!” Santos, 36, sobbed in court during his sentencing after pleading guilty to federal wire fraud and aggravated identity theft in August.

The drug cartels basically said out loud this week that they want war. They might just get one. Before we get to war and other niceties, here's why they might have just opened a can of military-grade whoop-a** directly into their own faces. Bugs Bunny has been a hero of mine for so long that I can't remember a time when he wasn't. All Bugs ever really wanted to do was enjoy his (surprisingly posh) digs and indulge in a perfectly crafted carrot stew. He never sought out trouble, but when it came for him, he came back ready to fight — and never lost his cool or wit.

With the arrests and federal indictments of two California men announced on Thursday, we're now getting an idea of how California's billions of dollars to "end homelessness" vanished without a trace. Instead of helping to solve the problem of rampant tent encampments filled with addicts on the beaches and streets in California, things got worse. Where did all that money go? An audit in 2024 revealed that no one knew how the homeless money was spent. I wrote about this in "No Wonder Gavin Newsom Didn't Want an Audit to Track $24 Billion in Homeless Spending."

Andrew Cuomo went in on Zohran Mamdani during Thursday’s mayoral debate over the socialist front-runner’s past comments about the NYPD, including calling the department “racist” and a “threat to public safety.” “Respect the police. They’re not racists,” Cuomo shot. “As the assemblyman calls them, they’re not a threat to public safety. As he says, they’re not anti queer. They are here to protect New Yorkers. Mamdani tried to brush the comments off as old. I have been clear time and time again that as much as Andrew Cuomo wants to bring up tweets from 2020, which is around the same time that he was sending seniors to their deaths in nursing homes,

How many times have we heard over the last decade that Donald Trump was a threat to democracy? That we were going to lose our democracy if he isn’t restrained (and maybe even eliminated)? That our democracy is in peril because Trump and his supporters are fascists, Nazis, and worse, if anything can be? The Democrats and their media allies hammer the term far beyond the point of absurdity. What is their obsession with “democracy,” a word that appears neither in the Declaration of Independence nor in the Constitution? Because, as has been pointed out many times, but clearly not enough, the U.S. is not a democracy. Our nation is a republic.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) has surprised Democrats by scheduling a vote Thursday on advancing the $852 billion defense appropriations bill amid the government shutdown. The defense measure in July passed out of the Appropriations Committee with strong Democratic support — 26 to 3 — but the political calculus has changed since then because of the government shutdown, which has now dragged into its third week.Thune pushed the annual National Defense Authorization Act through the Senate last week, and now he’s daring Democrats to block the defense appropriations bill as Republicans are putting a spotlight on how the shutdown is impacting national security.

Is Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) going to retire? Townhall has been hearing whispers from some senior Democratic sources that the longtime New York Senator could be retiring from public life for numerous reasons, not least being that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) could make good on her move to primary him. Now, AOC venturing outside the state could be an early move to consolidate her national constituency for a 2028 presidential run, which she could do, but she has options. And this seat is gettable for her: Schumer is not well-liked among Democratic voters, and his fundraising has been abysmal.

After a U.S.-led campaign, the United Nations has postponed a vote on a proposal to impose the world’s first global carbon tax on shipping, delaying the decision by one year. The rule was expected to come up for a vote this week as part of the U.N. International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) "Net-Zero Framework." But a majority of member nations voted to defer it after failing to reach consensus amid U.S. opposition. Backed by the European Union and Brazil, the plan seeks to raise billions from carriers that exceed new emissions limits, channeling the revenue toward climate adaptation and clean-fuel projects in developing nations. Washington and Riyadh led the opposition.

The “moral equivalent of war” is often used to elevate an otherwise non-threatening event into an existential threat. But today, the U.S. and indeed, all of Western civilization, faces a very real existential threat, one equal to war: the global collapse of fertility and families. In country after country, the stark, awful news emerges on a nearly daily basis: birth rates are plunging as women disengage from traditional marriage and family life, and young men do the same. The U.S. is no exception. Last year, the U.S. fertility rate plunged to an all-time low of 1.6 children per woman, a rate roughly 24% below the 2.1 children required j

The grim warning from Trump came after he previously downplayed the internal violence in the territory since a ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas went into effect last week in the two-year war. Trump later clarified he won’t send U.S. troops into Gaza after launching the threat against Hamas. “It’s not going to be us,” Trump said in an exchange with reporters. “We won’t have to. There are people very close, very nearby that will go in and they’ll do the trick very easily,

Mr. Alexander tells readers that this will have the apparently distasteful consequence of establishing admissions guidelines, managing university costs, creating testing standards for faculty competence and hiring, and setting criteria for international student admissions. Just a few hours later, Sanders lamented that the United States is "increasingly becoming an oligarchic form of society," during a CNN town hall. It continues the campaign's pattern of spending lavishly on private air travel. During the six months prior, Friends of Bernie Sanders spent more than $450,000 chartering jets.
