One doesn’t need to be the Oracle of Delphi to foretell the coming of the vile Zohran Mamdani as the next mayor of New York. It’s almost unbelievable.
Mamdani’s father is Mahmood Mamdani, the Herbert Lehman Professor of Government and Professor of Anthropology and Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies at — you may have heard — Columbia University. That is all too believable.
Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal carried Tunku Varadarajan’s review of Professor Mamdani’s new book, the aptly titled Slow Poison. Varadarajan writes:
Mahmood Mamdani has written a startling book. Startling, not because of the writing—which is often repetitive, tediously autobiographical and awash with anticolonial pieties—but because “Slow Poison”

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is an avowed Jew-hater who has repeatedly demonstrated over the last decade his hatred for Israel; his support for Hamas; and even his support for a “global intifada,” which, by extension, includes the destruction of the United States as we know it. And yet, according to recent polls, 43% of New York Jews are supporting him, including 67% of Jewish voters between the ages of 18 and 44.
This is analogous to black voters voting for former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke (who ran for president in 1992). How is it even possible for these Jewish New Yorkers to be supporting

What's up with California's impeccably coiffed Governor Gavin "A Little Dab'll Do Ya" Newsom? He seems determined to keep allowing men and boys to play on women's and girls' competitive sports teams, despite all the evidence from biology and reality as to how unfair that is. Governor Newsom himself admitted it was unfair. And yet, caught between the Scylla of the "gender ideology" nuts and the Charybdis of the "Resist Trump at all costs" left, he keeps looking for ways to allow the cheaters to keep cheating.
His latest effort is the formation of a "Sports Equity Commission", following the left's pattern of taking any ridiculous idea and

A federal grand jury in Maryland has reportedly indicted former national security adviser John Bolton.
Two sources told CNN that Bolton is being indicted for allegedly sharing classified information with his wife and daughter over email.
Sources previously told CNN that part of the Justice Department’s investigation centers around notes he was making to himself in an AOL email account — at times writing summaries of his activities like diary entries — when he was working for Trump.
FBI agents executed a search warrant on Bolton’s Maryland home and Washington, DC, office this summer. The agents seized multiple documents labeled “secret,” “confidential,” and “classified,” including some about weapons of mass destruction,

Former Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), the potential frontrunner for California governor, now regrets mistreating a reporter and a staffer, admitting she “could have handled things better.”
Last week, Politico obtained a video of Porter cursing at a staffer while taping a meeting with the Biden administration.
“Get out of my f****** shot!” Porter yelled at the staffer in the video.
When the staffer issued her correction regarding a policy detail, Porter responded, “Okay. You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot.”
The unearthed footage came just days after a video went viral that showed Porter threatening to exit an interview with a California CBS News affiliate.

Before I get to the good stuff, I feel that I need to remind you that yesterday, President Donald Trump announced that the United States had blown up yet another narco-boat out of Venezuela. The kinetic strike took place in International Waters, according to the president, and killed six narco-terrorists on board. Intelligence confirmed the boat was carrying illegal narcotics. (Snip) Sens. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Tim Kaine (D-Va.) probably held some sort of vigil for their fallen cartel brothers. While every single one of these blows sends a message to the cartels spread throughout Latin America, these, in particular, are aimed at Nicolás Maduro,

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Charlie Crist is mulling a potential run for St. Petersburg mayor, the former Florida governor and congressman confirmed on Wednesday.
Crist said he is “strongly considering” entering the race for mayor, a position which is currently held by Ken Welch.
Tampa Bay airports will not show Noem video blaming Democrats for shutdown
The move would mark a return to politics for Crist, who resigned from his congressional seat and ran for Florida governor in 2022, losing to incumbent Gov. Ron DeSantis by 19 points. The next year, the Biden administration nominated him to the position of U.S. ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization,

I absolutely, positively understand why liberals dislike Donald Trump's policies. He is, after all, reversing so many of the policies they love, and they have every right to object to them.
But seriously, folks, get a grip. Donald Trump is not trying to be a king, and your biggest complaint is that he is actually enforcing immigration laws passed by Congress, which your preferred president did everything to subvert. The great martyr to freedom most celebrated by liberals in the media is a wife-beating human trafficker who may, or may not, be deported after a long, drawn-out legal process. Sure, there are clashes in the streets between ICE officers

Have you heard the news that Hamas has emerged from the tunnels and gone on a murder spree since the ceasefire took effect? Having withdrawn to the agreed perimeter, the IDF is not on hand to engage with Hamas. Instead, Hamas has donned its uniforms and seized on the opportunity to focus on those it deems its domestic opponents. The gentlemen on their knees below were not accorded much in the way of due process before their execution. (X) As the New York Post reports in the editorial to which John links in the adjacent post: “For now, the terror group is busy publicly executing rivals and wiping out clans

Having left Politico beaten and bloodied on the canvas, let me now turn my attention to The Hill.
The Hill is an equally left-wing MSM organ, if slightly better written and reported. In yesterday’s paper, The Hill eagerly declared: (Snip) The subtext of their article is obvious – The Hill is telling its fellow Democrats to be in good cheer because GOP strategist Karl Rove is on their side on this issue, and warning Republicans that they should cave on this issue immediately, before it is too late.
Now, a lot depends on what one thinks of Karl Rove, the political strategist behind President George W. Bush’s political career. President Trump

Moses, smell the roses: Did you see the joyous, adoring throngs of Israelis and Arabs, all cheering and praising the American president? Millions of people chanting his name!
Y’know, for a guy with Donald Trump’s ego, people worshiping him as a god in the Holy Land must’ve been pretty trippy.
But for a guy with Barack Obama’s ego, had he been in Trump’s shoes, he would’ve believed it.
That’s always been one of the fundamental differences between the two most historically significant presidents of this century: Sure, Donald Trump has an ego, but he’s also self-aware. His pride and self-confidence are 100% authentic, but he’s also a showman: Part of it is schtick.

A Florida man convicted of killing two women whose bodies were found in a rural pond is scheduled to be executed on Tuesday evening.
Samuel Lee Smithers, 72, is set to receive a lethal injection starting at 6 p.m. at Florida State Prison near Starke under a death warrant signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. It would be Florida's 14th death sentence carried out in 2025, further extending the state record for executions in a single year.
Since the U.S. Supreme Court restored the death penalty in 1976, the highest previous annual total of Florida executions was eight in 2014. Florida has executed more people than any other state this year,
