Is Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) going to retire? Townhall has been hearing whispers from some senior Democratic sources that the longtime New York Senator could be retiring from public life for numerous reasons, not least being that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) could make good on her move to primary him. Now, AOC venturing outside the state could be an early move to consolidate her national constituency for a 2028 presidential run, which she could do, but she has options. And this seat is gettable for her: Schumer is not well-liked among Democratic voters, and his fundraising has been abysmal.

President Donald Trump told Maria Bartiromo on a preview of "Sunday Morning Futures" that Democrats made one major mistake amid the ongoing Schumer Shutdown. He said that they gave Republicans an opportunity to finally clear out some of the bureaucracy in the federal government.
"I think they could just stay out forever, I mean, to be honest with you. Now, what we're doing is we're cutting Democrat programs that we didn't want because... I mean, they made one mistake. They didn't realize that that gives me the right to cut programs that Republicans never wanted. You know, giveaways, welfare programs, et cetera. And we're doing that, and we're cutting them permanently,"

It had to be deliberate: JD Vance is simply too smart and too politically savvy for it to be accidental. (And in just a few paragraphs, we’ll reveal his chess move that — if successful — will end the 2025 government shutdown with a complete and total surrender by the Democratic Party.)
Either way, the pivotal moment is just 24 hours away: Saturday, Oct. 18, the day of the nationwide “No Kings” protests. That’s when we’ll find out if Vance’s bold PR strategy succeeded. (More on that in just a sec.)
But we begin with one simple question: Why the heck did Vance needlessly interject himself in the Young Republican group-text scandal?

Ace Frehley, original lead guitarist and founding member of the rock band KISS, has died. He was 74.
The musician’s family confirmed the sad news in a statement released to Variety on Thursday.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth,” the statement reads.
“We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension.

Ever since President Donald Trump brokered the historic ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the left has predictably tried to rewrite history. Instead of acknowledging Trump’s success, they’ve either praised the deal without giving him credit or tried desperately to hand the credit to someone else—namely, former President Joe Biden.
Biden’s former Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, previously claimed the Trump-brokered ceasefire “builds on a post-conflict framework developed under the Biden administration.” The spin is almost comical: (Snip) On Monday, Biden issued a statement on the release of hostages in Gaza, framing it as a crowning achievement of his administration.

The Democrat-led shutdown is nearing two weeks, and there's no end in sight. Despite a clear path to reopening the government, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his cohorts have chosen to filibuster a bipartisan clean constituting resolution that has been on the table since day one.
And while they claim to be standing up for the little guy by pushing for an extension of temporary COVID-era Obamacare subsidies, there's a more insidious game afoot. Take a look at the following posts. What do you notice about them? [Tweets]
Keep in mind that Democrats have long proclaimed the filibuster to be a racist relic

Regardless of political disagreements, sometimes one must give credit where due, which we've seen to some extent after news broke last Wednesday, when President Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of a peace plan that, among other things, would bring home the remaining surviving hostages. (Snip) When former Vice President Kamala Harris was asked the question over the weekend about whether Trump deserved credit, however, she gave a word-salady answer through gritted teeth, never mentioning Trump directly and instead saying, "I commend the people who have been a part of this process. I commend the Qataris, the Egyptians, and the president."

President Donald Trump went off script during his address to the Israeli Knesset, and everyone in the chamber went crazy when he called for a pardon for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Speaking to the Knesset on Monday, Trump reflected on the historic Gaza-Israel peace deal after the return of the final 20 hostages, before he veered off topic and made a suggestion that made those in the room applaud and cheer.
"Hey, I have an idea," Trump said. "Mr. President [Isaac Herzog], why don't you give him [Netanyahu, who Trump pointed to in the front row] a pardon?" And the hoots and hollers began.

More than two years after the Israel-Hamas war erupted following the terror group's brutal October 7, 2023, attack, President Trump declared that the “long and painful nightmare” for both Israelis and Palestinians “is finally over.”
Earlier in the day, Hamas released the last remaining 20 living hostages, though the group is reportedly slow walking the release of the 28 deceased hostages that were set to be returned Monday.
Still, the mood across Israel was jubilant—none more so than among the families who welcomed their loved ones back from Hamas captivity.
Many of the reunions went viral on social media.

In what universe is Christiane Amanpour living? Better, yes, is she on drugs? She might need to get tested after these mind-numbingly stupid remarks about the recent release of the Israeli hostages.
The CNN International host had the temerity to say that the Israeli prisoners were treated better than Gazans since they were pawns in a negotiation. Seriously, lady, these people were starved, raped, tortured, and some of them murdered. What the hell is that statement? [Video]
Hamas hates Israelis. They hate Jews. They want to destroy them, and somehow, they’re treated as if they’re on extended stay at the Ritz-Carlton. Terrorists don’t reason, you boob.

Despite Antifa's Teletubby media offensive, multiple Antifa militants and at least one Antifa assault victim were arrested on Saturday night outside the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) HQ in Portland, Ore. By Sunday, however, the next leftist psy-op had been deployed against ICE. Operation Full Frontal Rudity, as I call it, was in full effect on Sunday afternoon. This is an operation where naked males and females mount their bicycles to give the drug-addled "homeless" people slumped over like human tacos, parents with children, and retirees a show that nobody wanted to see —

Can you call Antifa domestic terrorists yet, Portland?
Life-saving Life Flight medical helicopters were grounded in Portland on Saturday night due to terrorists shining green lasers into the eyes of pilots going to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital, which is in the same vicinity as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in southwest Portland.
Antifa agents provocateur announced what they called "A Laser Tag Party" at 9 p.m. Saturday to ground federal helicopters seen in the area. What these nitwits also did was stop emergency trauma center helicopters from landing on top of Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU).
