Disney’s ABC said it would take Jimmy Kimmel‘s popular late-night show off its schedule “indefinitely” after one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the U.S., Nexstar Media, said it would pre-empt airings of the program following remarks the host made about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Nexstar said Wednesday that its “owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for the foreseeable future, beginning with tonight’s show.” The company said it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Are the networks finally coming to their senses? Having 'entertainment' that applauds cold blooded murder is not so funny. I believe Gutfeld actually predicted Kimmel's downfall over the reprehensible comments.

Ah, yes, no surprise, Jimmie has the mouth problem, too. Adios, Kimmie.

Oooooh, this is big stuff. It's one thing for generic corporations to figure it out.
But to see a media company cancel a well known loud mouth leftist like Kimmel? That's big and it's a warning to the rest of them like the morons on the View and do many other places that they have to stop lying if they want to stay on the air.

I get the feeling Kimmel was being provocative on purpose so his show would be pulled, that way he can claim victim/martyr status. Right?

Tee'hee. I can't stand that guy! I dislike him even more than Colbert.
Good news for Jimmy Fallon and Greg Gutfeld, the only two I actually watch. I'm sure Fallon is probably a lefty, but he sems like a nice guy and he's never preachy and he doesn't get very political.

There left is already bleating how Jimmy's ouster is the end of free speech.
I don't recall the same bleating when ABC cancelled Roseanne over her comments about Valerie Jarrett in 2018.
Well, what's good for the gander is good for the smarmy, no-talent goose.
(Roseanne is probably lovin' it now)

‘Jimmy Kimmel NOT SO Live!’
It's really refreshing to see these loud mouths get instant karma. The worst thing for Kimmel is that the Left finds you worthwhile and useful only when you are successful. Kimmel got chopped so he's a failure and will be dumped by the Left. The Left will fuss a bit, to no success, and then they will look for another standard bearer.

If their calling for suggestions for the preempting shows... reruns of Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins from 1963 would be a huge improvement.

Kimmel's ratings were tanking and ad prices are based on viewer numbers. His stupid and false comments just gave ABC good cover to can him. I don't know what he makes (made) but it was probably several million and became another way to cut costs. He'll claim Trump got him fired or something stupid like that but that's just BS and he probably knows it himself. I don't doubt that he has plenty of money but he's lost his pride and his megaphone. That's got to hurt,

They could replace his show with ''Hogan's Heroes'' or ''I Love Lucy'' re-runs and have higher ratings.

He did this to himself. He arrogantly thought he could write off anyone who wasn’t a fellow liberal and still have a huge audience. He was wrong. He had been conditioned to think he could lie about anyone, slander anyone, and insult anyone without consequence. He was wrong about that too. It’s a new day.

Just watched the switch over from local news to Kimmel’s time slot. What will be on, I wondered?
Not a news show.
Not a special report show.
No re-run of Barbara Walters.
No we got - Celebrity Family Feud.
Funniest opening 10 seconds in over a decade or so!!

Was this bloke making enough money for his network to justify his show? When comedy is funny, and comedians stick to comedy, then audiences grow. Carson poked fun at leaders of both parties. He was successful. He knew when to shut his yap.

I cannot imagine Johnny Carson - or any other talk show host 1/10 his quality - even considering joking about a murder, or publicly taking such a partisan position.

"Indefinitely" for a suspension on the Left tends to mean they just can't decide yet whether it'll be 2 days or 3 before Kimmel is restored, with back pay...
