A Study In Contrasts: Riots vs. Prayer Vigils

As soon as Charlie Kirk was assassinated, the pundit class starting wringing its collective hands about retribution. But instead of acts of vengeance, instead of looting and burning down buildings, instead of terrorizing communities, Charlie Kirk’s supporters … held prayer vigils. In fact, the only violence that we’ve seen so far has been instigated by leftists, who showed up at some of these vigils with a clear intention of stirring up hostility. In Idaho, a scuffle broke out – at a candlelight service – after a man on a scooter with a rainbow backpack started yelling “F*** Charlie Kirk.” He continued to scream and shout obscenities as he left, apparently unharmed.

I get that Lefties/Dems will start kvetching about the potential for a violent response to Charlie Kirk's murder, Donald Trump being charged by various counties and states prosecutors, etc., but I really do not like it when leaders on our side start kvetching, too. The Left has an established record of how they respond when they do not get their way. And so does the Right.

Dems condone violence. On every level. Encourage it. Rejoice in it's pain and chaos. And then point their fingers at conservatives and accuse them of everything they are. The only real democrat I see is Fetterman. He stands alone. I had no idea that so many in America are actually disgusting beings. So many have lost their morals, their humanity.

Alot of people being fed a steady diet of hate looking for a fight anymore. I'm beginning to think hatred turns off the brain. Many of these people are not stupid yet they believe the garbage they are being told.

The guardians of Arizona’s state pension fund have not suddenly turned into hoodie-wearing crypto bros shouting “HODL” from a Tempe rooftop. They have done something more interesting, more technical, and in its way, more subversive. They bought more shares of MicroStrategy, Michael Saylor’s publicly traded Trojan horse for Bitcoin. For a bureaucracy that manages roughly $17 billion in assets, the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) is not known for boldness. It is designed to be boring. It sprinkles funds across the usual asset classes:

The U.N. General Assembly voted overwhelmingly Friday to support a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict and urge Israel to commit to a Palestinian state, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vehemently opposes. The 193-member world body approved a nonbinding resolution endorsing the “New York Declaration,” which sets out a phased plan to end the nearly 80-year conflict. The vote was 142-10 with 12 abstentions. Hours before the vote, Netanyahu said “there will be no Palestinian state.” He spoke at the signing of an agreement to expand settlements that will divide the West Bank, which the Palestinians insist must be part of their state, saying, “This place belongs to us.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been asked to return to Congress to answer questions about emails uncovered by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) showing the former White House COVID-19 czar asking colleagues to “delete” messages, according to copies obtained by The Post. Fauci, who helmed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for decades, in two email chains asked other public health officials — including then-National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins — to send his emails to the trash bin after reading them. One of the communications from Feb. 2, 2020, revealed the ex-NIAID head imploring Collins to “Please delete this e-mail after you read it”

It is almost a quarter-century now since the Sept. 11, 2001 jihad attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York City and Washington. Many Americans assume that the jihad threat was somehow neutralized and contained in the immediate aftermath of those attacks, such that a large-scale jihad attack can never happen again in America, and the public discourse has moved on to other issues: mass migration, skyrocketing crime in the cities, tariffs, and the like. In reality, however, the jihad against the U.S. has not ended, and in the near-quarter century since 9/11, the jihadis have made immense gains.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has handed a temporary victory to President Donald Trump by keeping in place the Trump administration’s freeze on foreign aid for the time being. The decision puts nearly $5 billion in funding on hold. Trump told House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) in a letter at the end of last month that he wouldn’t spend $4.9 billion in foreign aid that Congress approved. It’s what we call a “pocket rescission,” in which the president requests that Congress not spend certain approved funds. “This case raises questions of immense legal and practical importance,

Sudan's brutal civil war... is not just a clash between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their former military allies turned rivals, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). It is a calculated power grab by the Muslim Brotherhood, which appears to be using the SAF as a Trojan horse to dominate northeast Africa and the Red Sea, a critical artery for global commerce. The Muslim Brotherhood, sponsored by Qatar, appears to be hijacking the SAF to stage a takeover, recycling old alliances under new guises. Despite recent concessions to the United States and Egypt,

Charlotte, NC Mayor Vi Lyles says she’s disappointed that the video of the shocking murder of Iryna Zarutska “is now public” and thanked media outlets for not “sharing” the brutal footage. Appalling: While Lyles now pretends the blackout was to show “respect for Iryna’s family,” her statement two weeks back to a local news reporter makes it plain her concern was for the vagrant arrested for the deadly stabbing. Bull: Lyles wanted the video out of sight not because she cares for how the family feels, but because it exposes the corruption and menace that lurks right under the surface in our crime-ridden cities.

The deranged homeless man charged with butchering a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee on a Charlotte train was free on cashless bail after a magistrate released him with just a “written promise” to show up for court — despite a nearly two-decade history of violence and mental illness. Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, was arrested at least 14 times in North Carolina for crimes ranging from assault and firearms possession to felony robbery and larceny dating back to 2007. His own mother told local TV station WSOC that her son was schizophrenic and should never have been allowed to roam the streets.

Premier François Bayrou was ousted overwhelmingly in a 364-194 vote against him, losing an apparent gamble that lawmakers would back his push for France to slash public spending to repay its debts. The 74-year-old centrist was instead voted out, ending his short-lived minority government after being appointed by Macron in December. California Democrats passed a bill that would ban federal immigration agents and other federal law enforcement officers from wearing masks. “We’re looking at the constitutionality of it,” Gov. Newsom said in July. Don't bother looking, governor. Any eighth grader could tell you that a governor can't order federal law enforcement or any other federal official to do anything. This is virtue signaling at its finest, and naturally, Democrats are waving the bloody shirt for all to see. “We are in a truly disaster of a situation where we have secret police, effectively, on our streets,” said Scott Wiener, a Democratic state senator from San Francisco. COLUMBUS, Ohio [WJW-TV Cleveland] - A state lawmaker proposes allowing utilities to take control of volunteering customers’ thermostats or appliances, to decrease overall demand on the energy grid in times of peak consumption. Such optional demand response programs are already available to large commercial users, but House Bill 427, introduced in late August by state Rep. Roy Klopfenstein, R-Haviland, would allow utilities to develop them for residential consumers. “This legislation is a crucial step in our state’s comprehensive plan to ensure all Ohioans have access to reliable, affordable and readily available energy,” The programs wouldn’t be mandatory.
