The redistricting battle in Texas has taken a dramatic new turn, with the FBI now involved in tracking down Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to break quorum. The move follows a formal request from U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, who announced Thursday that the federal government has agreed to assist Texas law enforcement in locating the absent legislators. “I am proud to announce that Director Kash Patel has approved my request for the FBI to assist state and local law enforcement in locating runaway Texas House Democrats,” Sen. Cornyn said in a statement. “We cannot allow these rogue legislators to avoid their constitutional responsibilities.”

Cornyn is running for re-election, so he jumps on the Trump train. Even a broken clock..... Go, Ken Paxton...leading in the polls, but needs money.

Help in locating them? We know where they are. They are staying in a hotel 40 miles outside of Chicago.

Hotel in St. Charles, IL. Pretty easy to find them! That said, WHO is paying for the Private Jet? Seems it would be pretty expensive tab for a Round Trip! I think we should suggest they go together and PAY out of their Own Pockets!!

It looks like the Keystone Kops, headed by Cornyn, have been summoned to save the day. This looks like more Kabuki Theater since it's now Thursday and no DemonRats have been "officially" found, arrested or unseated. I sure hope Abbott follows through on his bold words.

Leave them in Illinois. Arrest them when they return home. (It will save money.) Let their voters know about job abandonment and everything else. Announce the job requirements to look for appointed replacements. (Even some dems on the county level might like the job promotion. )

A Biden-appointed federal judge issued a nationwide injunction on President Donald Trump’s birthright citizenship order, arguing that the directive is likely to be found in violation of the Constitution. U.S. District Judge Deborah L. Boardman issued her opinion Thursday after agreeing to certify a class-action lawsuit from immigration rights group CASA. "The Court finds that the plaintiffs have shown they are entitled to a classwide preliminary injunction. The plaintiffs have established that they are likely to succeed on the merits of their constitutional claim because the Executive Order contradicts the plain language of the Fourteenth Amendment and conflicts with binding Supreme Court precedent,"

Washington — A divided federal appeals court on Friday granted the Trump administration's request to set aside a district judge's decision finding probable cause that some federal officials committed criminal contempt by violating an order to turn around planes carrying Venezuelan migrants bound for El Salvador. The 2-1 decision from a panel of judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is a massive victory for the Trump administration, which has lambasted U.S. District Judge James Boasberg for overstepping his authority when he initiated criminal contempt proceedings in April.

HOUSTON, Texas — Harris County Commissioners Court censured County Judge Lina Hidalgo following an outrageous rant and political stunt. The judge appeared unhinged as she interrupted and argued with the county commissioners, refusing to follow the rules of decorum. Harris County commissioners voted 3-1 to censure Judge Hidalgo after what the Houston Chronicle kindly described as a “heated disagreement over a proposed tax increase to pay for early childcare programs. Urban Reform, a local government watchdog and public policy group, posted a video showing the latest in a series of rants by Hidalgo, the county’s chief executive officer.

The Israeli security cabinet approved a plan on Friday morning that will allow Israel to take military control of Gaza City, the first step in what could become a broader military operation to take control of the entire Gaza Strip. Israel’s goal in the expanded operation is to achieve decisive victory over Hamas while delivering humanitarian aid “outside of combat zones,” the council said in a statement after their ten-hour meeting. The cabinet’s five guidelines for ending the war include Hamas’s disarmament, the return of the remaining 50 hostages, 20 of whom are believed alive,

Just because former President Joe Biden's decline while in office has been confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt, thanks in part to ongoing investigations as well as conveniently timed books from reporters on the matter, doesn't mean questions about the mental acuity of those who are still serving in government have gone away or should go away. Just a couple months ago things were getting out of control in Los Angles night after night but this led a bunch of people to offer defenses of LA. The argument was that most of the city wasn't overrun with looters and rioters only parts of downtown. There was a lot of this, including on Jimmy Kimmel's show. He did a whole segment about how everything was fine. Meanwhile, the actual mayor of LA had declared a state of emergency and an 8pm curfew for downtown. The tweets denying there was a problem and the mayor's curfew were happening on the same day.

The Biden administration abused its power by turning the entire mechanism of the federal government into a Democratic voter mobilization campaign, according to newly unearthed White House documents viewed exclusively by The Post. The worst offender was FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under the Department of Homeland Security, which was controlled for four years by Biden’s Machiavellian border buster Alejandro Mayorkas. When responding to an emergency or a natural disaster, FEMA employees were directed to make voter registration a “key priority.”

A 22-year-old US Army soldier in Texas was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempting to send sensitive information about US battle tanks to Russia, the Justice Department said in a news release. Federal prosecutors allege that Taylor Adam Lee, who is an active-duty service member stationed at Fort Bliss and possesses a very high, top-secret clearance, offered assistance to Russia and sent technical information about the M1A2 Abrams tank online in June. Lee, according to prosecutors, stated online that “the USA is not happy with me for trying to expose their weaknesses,” and said, “At this point I’d even volunteer to assist the Russian federation when I’m there in any way.”

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. A big, explosive controversy that’s impossible to ignore! A jaw-dropping confession that outraged his corporate bosses! Or maybe he’d finally suffer the consequences of speaking “truth to power” — and pay the ultimate price for refusing to back down! That’s how “The Howard Stern Show” was supposed to end. This November marks the 100th anniversary of TS Eliot’s haunting poem, “The Hollow Men.” It’s a telling coincidence, for it foretold not just the fate of the world, but of a certain shock-jock: “This is the way the [Howard Stern Show] ends; Now with a bang but a whimper.” This week, the news broke:

President Trump is putting America first again. This time, he’s going after the rigged system that counts illegal aliens in the U.S. Census, skewing congressional representation and rewarding sanctuary states with more power. On Thursday, Trump announced he’s directing the Department of Commerce to conduct a new, corrected census — one that actually counts American citizens and excludes those here illegally. “I have instructed our Department of Commerce to immediately begin work on a new and highly accurate CENSUS based on modern day facts and figures and, importantly, using the results and information gained from the Presidential Election of 2024,” Trump announced in a post on Truth Social.

“If you find yourself arguing that it’s a good thing to drop nuclear weapons on people, then you are evil.” Thus spake Tucker Carlson last year on Joe Rogan’s podcast after the Daily Wire’s Jeremy Boreing claimed on Twitter that people who condemn the dropping of the bombs and describe the United States as evil for doing so, hate their country. Boreing and Carlson were replaying an argument that has been on a loop ever since the Sixties: Was Truman’s decision to drop the bombs justified? As an historical debate, there will probably never be an end to it.
