Trump and the Welcome Demise of the Neocon
Catholic Pontificate

As the Catholic Church in the United States grapples with the implications of the first American pope, another important development affecting American Catholics has gone largely unnoticed: the death of the decades-long project of neoconservative Catholic elites to dominate and dictate the policy debate within the Republican Party. (Snip.) The only aspect of the first Trump Administration exempt from their criticism was his handling of judicial appointments (Snip.) Although the President often touts his first term appointments to the court, the Trump appointees -- particularly Justices Kavanaugh and Barrett -- have often proven to be meddlesome obstacles to the implementation of his populist MAGA agenda.

Well, we are still stuck with Kavanaugh, Roberts and Barrett on the Supreme Court.

I don't understand what religion has to do with the neocon, anti-Trump movement. It seems to me that opponents to Trump would oppose him on the issues, regardless of their religion be they Roman Catholic, Methodist or Druid. Perhaps, this author is concerned that these Catholics are agents of the Pope as my Methodist grandparents were about JFK when he ran for President. Or, maybe, he has that Catholic complex. We should be picking judges who are grounded in the constitution; not based on some political standard. Eisenhower appointed Warren and Brennan because of political considerations. Today we have Brown and Sotomayor on the court for political reasons. Roberts is a weasel. LowT Kavanaugh, based on his resume, should be no surprise. Barrett is an unpleasant surprise.

There were so many lies told by Joe Biden, his wife and their aides that it's hard to distinguish delusion from reality when assessing his disastrous presidency and determining who needs to be held accountable for all of the crimes and coverups. (Snip) According to an exclusive preview of the upcoming book "Original Sin" by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, at the same time that the White House and Hunter were denying the existence of his abandoned "laptop from hell" in early 2022, Biden aides were so concerned about the political fallout that they secretly arranged for the Democratic National Committee to obtain a copy of the hard drive.

Yesterday, news broke that a passel of Democrats -- three Congresspeople and the Newark mayor -- went all "insurrectiony" and tried to storm the Newark ICE faciliity. Newark's mayor was arrested, but as of this writing, the congresspeople involved (Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Rob Menendez (D-NJ), and LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) were still free. However, a new video has emerged that makes it look as if federal prosecutors might at least want to think about investigating McIver (snip).

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessell has dropped all charges against seven pro-Palestinian demonstrators arrested last year on the University of Michigan Diag. The seven were facing misdemeanor charges of trespassing as well as felony charges of resisting and obstructing police. In light of the terrible week Joe Biden had, it was inevitable that the media would try to drum up some fake controversy about Donald Trump. In fact, they happily obliged by grossly distorting comments Trump made during a campaign speech in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday. "Former President Donald Trump on Saturday said he would encourage Russia to do 'whatever the hell they want' to any NATO member country that doesn't meet spending guidelines in a stunning admission he would not abide by the collective defense clause at the heart of the alliance if reelected," reported CNN.

WASHINGTON — Joe Biden was never diagnosed with prostate cancer until last week, and the last time he was screened for it was more than a decade ago, a spokesperson for the former president said Tuesday. “President Biden’s last known PSA was in 2014. Prior to Friday, President Biden had never been diagnosed with prostate cancer,” the spokesperson said. (Snip) In recent years, doctors have increasingly begun screening for the disease in older patients. President Donald Trump, 78, received a PSA screening as recently as this year, according to medical records released by the White House. Since he revealed his

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace claimed Wednesday on “Deadline” that President Donald Trump humiliated the people of the United States during his Oval Office meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Wallace said, “Another day for the history books today from Donald J. Trump. An astonishing display from him in the White House today Donald Trump meeting with the president of South Africa and attempting to ambush and humiliate that leader inside the Oval Office. Federal judges have recently halted a number of President Donald Trump’s executive orders and White House initiatives, setting off a firestorm of debate over how far judges’ power should go. As it turns out, most Americans of virtually all political persuasions think that judges should have the power to delay a president’s moves, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. In its April 30-May 2 national online poll of 1,400 voters, I&I/TIPP posed the following statement and question: “Federal district judges are appointed by the president, confirmed by the Senate, and serve lifetime terms. There are currently 677 such judges in the U.S.
The last 8 members of Congress to die

In the last two and a half years, eight sitting members of the House or Senate have died in office. Every time, it's been a Democrat. Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, died on Wednesday at 75, after a battle with esophageal cancer. He's the third House Democrat to die in the last three months. If Democrats had gained a narrow 1 or 2-seat majority in 2024, they would have lost it by now. The streak of Democratic deaths could just be something of a coincidence. After all, there are plenty of elderly

I have no idea how to comprehend this act of incompetence. Last Friday, severe storms rolled into St. Louis. A tornado touched down and struck the northern part of the city—and there were no warning sirens. The tornado alarm system was never activated. It wasn’t due to a computer glitch. It was human error: the emergency management director, Sarah Russell, essentially forgot to turn it on, but it gets worse: the staff wasn’t even in the office. Russell contacted the fire department to initiate the system, but this was a shambolic failure

A favorite Lily Tomlin line was made for this moment: “No matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up.” She could have been talking about the Biden White House. Those of us who were long convinced that aides were hiding the president’s cognitive decline weren’t cynical enough. We also needed to believe they were hiding other serious ailments, such as prostate cancer. Hmm, what else didn’t we suspect that we should have? Whatever it is, the odds are soaring that we are going to find out.

In March, President Donald Trump announced a full halt to U.S. foreign aid to South Africa, citing the government’s racially charged abuse of white Afrikaner farmers. He blasted the regime for orchestrated land seizures and escalating violence, calling the country “a bad place to be right now.” At the same time, he offered a fast track to U.S. citizenship for South African farmers and their families seeking safety from persecution. The black-led South African government has flatly denied any campaign of anti-white violence, brushing off the attacks as fiction and painting any criticism as offensive. But the facts on the ground — brutal murders, farm invasions,
Why Do Leftists Think That Train Travel

Several years ago, I was getting ready to travel to Austin, Texas, for a conference. Just out of curiosity, I looked into getting there by train. Amtrak was the only option, of course. My trip to Austin would take 36 hours, and the route was something like Atlanta to Washington to Chicago to Austin. It would also cost twice as much as flying. Needless to say, Amtrak was totally out as an option. Despite its impracticality and expense, the left loves to romanticize train travel. I think much of it because left-wing media types all live in the Acela corridor, where passenger rail infrastructure is plentiful.

An effort to sink President Donald Trump’s pick to head the IRS found a Democrat senator closing with an allegation of recorded conversations. Since the president’s return to the White House, the left has seemingly jumped at every opportunity to obstruct the America First agenda with lawsuits and delay tactics. Tuesday, as the Senate Finance Committee considered the nomination for IRS commissioner, ranking member Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden (D) saw fit to level an allegation in his closing remarks. “Our staff investigators have on tape now, tax promoters saying you met with him at the inauguration and promised him a favorable private letter ruling,”

President Donald Trump forced the President of the Republic of South Africa to watch videos of the country’s leaders calling for the genocide of white farmers during a meeting in the Oval Office on Wednesday. South African president Cyril Ramaphosa visited Trump for a bilateral meeting as well as a private lunch. In the middle of their public conversation, Trump ordered his staff to dim the lights and play videos of “genocide in South Africa” for attendees of the meeting. The video montage showed different clips of political leaders from the minority party in South Africa calling for killing the Boers...

Trump’s DOJ has filed a statement of interest in Peter’s case, and President Trump himself has called attention to the fact that the persecution of Tina Peters is nothing more than Democrats covering up their own election crimes

Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the Trump administration's reorganization of what he calls the U.S. "foreign aid industrial complex" during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Tuesday. Rubio said previously at USAID, "only 12 cents of every dollar was reaching the recipient." "We still will provide more foreign aid, more humanitarian support, than the next 10 countries combined... and far more than China," he said, disputing the argument that the U.S. is handing over soft power to China by cutting foreign aid. "China doesn’t do humanitarian aid. China does predatory lending."
