Florida county school board chair Sarah Rockwell apologized for Facebook comments celebrating legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan’s death on Thursday as "one less MAGA" in the world. "Oh did Hulk die? I didn’t even know. Good. One less MAGA in the world," Rockwell’s since-deleted comment read. In a follow-up comment, Rockwell added, "[H]e worked with the McMahons to union bust professional wrestling. [H]e’s never been a good guy. I feel absolutely nothing about his death." After her comments went viral on social media, Rockwell deleted and apologized for them on her official school board Facebook account. ''A few days ago, I

Vanderbilt University on Friday confirmed it is investigating the video published by Townhall, which appears to show a staff member describing an intentional effort to conceal its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and events in a bid to avoid federal scrutiny under the Trump administration, while simultaneously disparaging U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). Asked by The Tennessee Star to comment on the video on Friday, the university directed The Star to a public statement published Thursday, revealing the independent law firm, Baker Donelson, was retained by the university to “conduct an independent review” of the incident.

“War is hell,” as William Tecumseh Sherman famously observed, but it is also theater. War is a staple of movies, literature, and religion due to its ability to encapsulate universal themes of good versus evil, courage, sacrifice, and the human condition. It is ubiquitous in human history. Who has not heard of the War in Heaven? War features in the Iliad, the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita, not to mention Shakespeare, War and Peace, The Lord of the Rings, and countless movies and drama serials. It’s definitely theater: ironically it's the history of our lives. Not surprisingly warfare itself employs dramatic devices. One of the oldest is performative cruelty.

The bodies of a man and woman were found on a walking trail at a popular state park in Arkansas over the weekend — sparking a manhunt for their possible killer. Cops said the corpses of a 43-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were discovered Saturday afternoon at Devil’s Den State Park, a tourist destination famous for its caves, rock formations and thousands of acres of forest. Arkansas State Police said they are now looking for a suspicious white male wearing dark shorts, a dark tank top and weightlifting-type gloves.

It took just 75 minutes for President Trump to get major concessions from the European Union. That’s how long he and European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were away from the cameras. When they returned, Trump was triumphant. Europe agreed to buy $750 billion in American energy products, invest $600 billion in new money in the US, purchase additional US military equipment and drop key tariffs on American goods, according to the terms of the preliminary agreement.

The nature of humans and their relationships is complex and interesting. It involves friendship, hate, cooperation, competition, love, impulse, greed, work, betrayal, family, tribes, envy, sympathy and dozens of other emotions. Great writers and even bad ones have written billions of words on these powerful feelings, and how they function and dysfunction in groups of humans. Writers keep writing about them and their readers keep reading about them because they strike a chord within us. We witness them in our everyday lives.

President Donald Trump announced a sweeping trade agreement with the European Union (EU) on Sunday, setting a baseline 15 percent tariff on European imports — including automobiles — while keeping existing 50 percent duties on steel and aluminum in place. As part of the deal, the EU committed to purchasing $750 billion in U.S. energy products. Trump announced the agreement during a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen after a private meeting at Trump Turnberry in Scotland. The EU will purchase three-quarters of a trillion dollars in U.S. energy, while also investing $600 billion into America on top of existing investments. Additionally,

How quickly things change. It was barely more than a year ago that climate activists and federal bureaucrats thought they had maneuvered the internal combustion engine (ICE) automobile to the brink of extinction. ICE vehicles had become like dinosaurs, inferior to their new competitors the EVs, and therefore headed for the scrap heap of history. Customers were flocking to the trendy new EVs, which were seeing rapidly rising sales. And the all-powerful federal bureaucracy was going to give the final push to put ICE vehicles out of their misery. On June 7, 2024 President Biden’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

The terror unfolded around 5 p.m. when the alleged 42-year-old male attacker began randomly stabbing shoppers with a “standard” folding knife in various sections of the big-box chain store in Traverse City, about 255 miles northwest of Detroit, Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said. Nunes also points to the raid on Mar-a-Lago as a possible entry point for investigative accountability. Let me refresh on something that could potentially be a revelation down the road. Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City Democrat mayoral primary marks a troubling shift in the Party’s relationship with Jewish Americans. Mamdani’s candidacy is not simply progressive—it is openly hostile toward Israel and indifferent to rising antisemitism. By nominating him, the party has endorsed a candidate whose record reveals not just poor judgment, but outright radicalism. After the Hamas-led terrorist attack on October 7, 2023—when over 1,200 Israelis were murdered, including children burned alive and women raped—Mamdani declined to offer a clear condemnation. Instead, he deflected by calling Israel an “apartheid regime” at a time when moral clarity was urgently needed.

We’re mad as hell and we aren’t going to take it anymore! That’s just the way it is. America is fed up. Every election cycle, Republican candidates tell us that, in my wife’s expression, they will “Do wonders and poop cucumbers.” And as soon as the polls close, all those promises go away. The latest examples of this are the “Republican” senators who demanded that some foreign aid money be left on the table in Donald Trump’s tiny $9.4 billion rescission package. The fact that that amount of money is a rounding error in the federal budget angers the rest of us as well.

If ever there was an example of party loyalty being a vice and not a virtue, this is it. The silence is outrageous.

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s anticorruption policies have already provoked Ukraine’s first antigovernment protests since the Russian invasion in 2022. Now, it seems, they may cost the country a portion of its foreign aid from the European Union, in a clear rebuke from the bloc, once a staunch ally. The European Union said on Friday that it would withhold 1.5 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, from an overall fund of 4.5 billion euros whose disbursement is dependent on achieving good governance standards and that can’t be used for military purchases. James Wasserstrom, an American anticorruption expert, said in an interview that “the luster is definitely coming off” Mr. Zelensky’s wartime leadership
