The Trump administration has been pursuing, on two fronts, the critical objective of fixing America's broken education system. One, an executive order by President Donald Trump, issued shortly after he assumed office, is to dismantle the Department of Education. Outright closing of the department is only possible by an act of Congress. However, the president is moving to accomplish the same objective administratively by closing down offices and major staff elimination. The Supreme Court recently upheld the president's authority to do this.

The public schools, a local study. Houston Independent School District was taken over by the state 2 years ago for stealing school funds, inability of any graduates to pass an elementary exam or others to graduate, and teachers with teaching certificates where others were paid to take the exam for them. That is the largest school in the Houston area. Head to Northwest Houston area and the results are far worse. Teachers are afraid of their students in the current state of public schools, and generally avoid them.

We need to make a bold move by allowing private schools to charge reasonable tuition and exempt parents who pay public school taxes from paying that tax while their children are in private school. Allowing teachers to teach without a teaching degree should also be allowed (as well as preferred) if they are smart, capable people who focus on core subjects and discipline. The teachers unions are our biggest obstacle and our universities are second in their fear of losing their monopoly and their right to produce students with inferior educations. Our performance in world-wide comparison is embarrassing.

The Standard Chartered Bank sanctions evasion case, now in court in the US Second Circuit, found at least $9.6 billion of illegal payments by the bank to Iranian and Hezbollah entities. The case implicates NYAG Letitia James and the Federal Reserve for ignoring billions of these illicit payments and ignoring Treasury sanctions designations. Maximum Pressure is not being enforced because of the failures of the Fed and the NYAG. At least $9.6 billion of specifically identified illicit payments were made by SCB from its NYC branch to OFAC and known terrorist names.

A review of the facts and procedures in the Trump-Russia investigation reveals the CIA and FBI were being led by reckless partisans. The Justice Department recently acknowledged that it is conducting a criminal investigation of both former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. The current CIA director, John Ratcliffe, made a criminal referral to the DOJ concerning Brennan. Many believe that referral involves perjury on Brennan’s part when testifying before Congress or during Special Counsel John Durham’s inquiry.

Israel is facing intensifying international condemnation for its killing of starving Palestinian civilians in Gaza, and its attacks on humanitarian efforts, as the UN secretary general, António Guterres, said the “last lifelines keeping people alive [in the strip] are collapsing”. An angry chorus of senior figures, among them the UK foreign secretary, David Lammy, and a senior Catholic cleric, expressed on Tuesday a growing sense of global horror over Israel’s actions. I spoke again with [the Israeli foreign minister] Gideon Saar to recall our understanding on aid flow and made clear that IDF [Israel Defense Forces] must stop killing people at distribution points,”

The response to Tulsi Gabbard’s weekend airstrike against the deep state’s attempt to walk away from RussiaGate has started to take shape. Leading in this effort is Andrew C. McCarthy, the last figure of any substance at the once august but now decrepit (and diehard NeverTrump) National Review. In “RussiaGate Re-revisited: Gabbard Urges DOJ to Prosecute Obama Official,” McCarthy argues that: All the material that Gabbard released was already well-known (thanks in large part to one Andrew C. McCarthy). That there was too Russian interference in the 2016 election. Therefore, RussiaGate was for real and Obama and goons get a free pass.

"What I can assure the American people is that this investigation [into Hillary Clinton's homebrew server] was done competently, honestly, and independently. No outside influence of any kind was brought to bear." — FBI Director James Comey, July 2016. We now have proof that what Comey told the American people in the lead-up to the 2016 election was categorically false. The Senate Judiciary Committee released a bombshell report today, revealing that Comey's FBI "failed to fully investigate Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server and mishandling of highly classified information during her time as Secretary of State." If anyone's shocked at that revelation,

As we reported, Hunter Biden did a curse-filled interview with YouTube personality Andrew Callaghan. The interview was released on Monday and had some wild moments. He did that typical Democrat thing where he tried to argue how important it was to have "immigrants" to do our work for us. He also had an anger-filled rant about deportations. But he wasn't done yet. That was just a warm-up to how he ripped into the Democrats and how he thought they had mistreated his father. First, he went after George Clooney, whose remarks about Joe Biden after the debate helped to undo him. "F**k him and everyone around him,"

Here is what a treasury secretary is supposed to do: work to demystify what is being done with Americans' money, answer why Wall Street and the Fed do what they do, and why it should matter to us. If anything remains a financial mystery, it's what happens at the Federal Reserve. Does Fed Chairman Jerome Powell and his over 2,300 staffers use spreadsheets, market trends, an abacus, or tea leaves to set rates? Because from the financial novice or illiterate (raising my hand), their decisions come off as arbitrary, political, or both. As opposed to the former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen,

Barack Obama has broken his silence on calls from Donald Trump for him to be prosecuted by unequivocally rejecting his successor’s accusations that he tried to engineer a “coup” following Trump’s 2016 election victory by “manufacturing” evidence of Russian interference. Obama’s office took the unusual step of issuing an emphatic refutation after Trump told reporters that his predecessor had “[tried] to lead a coup” against him and was guilty of “treason” over intelligence assessments suggesting that Russia had intervened to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton in the campaign. “Out of respect for the office of the presidency,

Stephen Colbert wants you to believe he's some kind of martyred truth-teller, canceled by the evil corporate overlords for daring to speak truth to power about Donald Trump. He’s not. It's a compelling narrative, if you're the type who still thinks late-night comedy hosts are brave crusaders rather than overpaid establishment mouthpieces. But, rather than accept reality, he’s leaning into the preferred narrative that he’s being silenced and that it’s President Trump’s fault.

California’s new $20-per-hour minimum wage for fast food workers has resulted in a significant decline in employment in that sector, leading to 18,000 fewer jobs than would have been the case otherwise.
