Health insurance premiums for Americans buying coverage through Affordable Care Act marketplaces will spike by a median of 15 percent in 2026, which is the largest increase in more than five years. For millions of families, this means premium payment increases of over 75 percent as enhanced tax credits expire.
What we're about to witness is the impact of government interference in sectors where it has no constitutional authority to operate.
This crisis was baked into the ACA from day one. When Barack Obama promised Americans they could keep their doctors and that his plan would make healthcare affordable, he was selling a fantasy

This abomination was ALWAYS a scam on the people it perports to 'help'. Most plans have a $5000 or $6000 deductible, meaning that until the patient pays $5 or 6000 in out of pocket, NOTHING is paid for beyond a couple of doc visits per year.
So.....their "health insurance" was worth two doc visits per year, since most of them would find paying the deductible completely impossible.
A scam. Typical Dem "caring for poor people". Pretend health insurance that is fine, unless you get sick.

Yep, it was known at the time that any up-front discount in premiums (which there turned out not to be) would be covered buy built-in cost increases down the road, when the False Prophet would be living a cush, private life in one of his walled mansions. A time trap for any Republican administration, and if the dems might happen to be in power at the time they could simply exploit it as another crisis and come to the rescue by giving away more money to the masses.

Obamacare began by taking $500 Billion out of Medicare, and required government subsidies every year since. Trump has previously proposed reforms, and they should be revisited.

Dirty nasty game Obama played. They made millions of people 'dependent' on 'healthcare'. I'm on Obamacare and my premium is 0. I recall a commercial stating 90% of people on Obamacare get a tax credit, and most of them do have an income. I applied and gave all my info and was quite shocked when they informed me, my premium would be 0. I expected to pay something. I'll be curious what the government does about the tax credit. I've always lived by the rule if something is too expensive don't buy it. That includes healthcare. The government told everyone that healthcare is a necessity. How can that be when it is so expensive? To me, healthcare is a luxury. That makes it optional. Our government made it mandatory.

The unaffordable care act. It should be repealed and the only thing that should be kept is a open enrollment period for people with pre-existing conditions. No one should have to take insurance with things they don't need like maternity and pediatric dentistry.
Medicare is also a scam. I am dreading retirement because my health insurance costs will go up so much. I will have to pay one of the highest Part B premium amounts plus the supplemental premium, if I want things like deductibles covered.

Re #7, I don't understand. We have Medicare and Aetna supplemental. Even after a severe trauma event that was billed out at a total around $750K, our total outlay per year is still a fraction of what you say.
IIRC our total cost is around $5K per year.
We have a Type G plan, which most people do not find, because the BC&BS brochure omits the F and G plans. These are far better plans than most, IMO. We found a really good professional advisor before we chose out Medicare plan. And Aetna as a supplemental has been very good, too. Something around $450 per month is our total outlay.
I had a week in ICU. another week in the trauma hospital, then 90 days in a rehab hospital before I could go home, and multiple serious surgeries, joint replacement, orthopedic plates, etc., etc. Our biggest expense not covered was transportation to the doc visits and surgeries when I was immobile in bed, which was strictly out of pocket. The overwhelming majority was covered by Medicare and Aetna supplemental. But there are many different plans in supplemental insurance. Perhaps look into a F or G type of plan. You pay an annual deductible of around $500, then things are covered.
I am an engineer, comfortable with numbers, and so is my wife, and even so, we felt like figuring out the intricacies of Medicare and supplemental insurance was a literal minefield. Going to a professional health care expert service was the best thing we did about Medicare and supplemental insurance.
I highly recommend seeking a pro and getting advice if you are spending that much. The advisors are prepaid by the taxpayers

My son can't afford the rates now. Luckily there is a nurse practitioner here in town who has a concierge practice that is affordable. I can see more of these popping up as medical costs skyrocket.

President Trump will fix this mess just like he is fixing everything else. The cost is being multiplied by the complexity of the medical system along with Big Insurance, Big Pharma and Big Government, all of whom realized that there was a gold mine in convincing people they are all sick and in keeping that state of mind going. The number of ads for the constantly expanding number of new drugs for newly-invented diseases is staggering. Some of those diseases are caused by the other drugs. It really is a mess.

#2: I suspect anyone with an ACA policy will find that their premiums will go down $2500 just as soon as Obamacare is repealed.
I'm personally surprised this is not more of a legislative priority today. I recall that it was a priority during PDJT's first term -- and it was derailed by the treachery of the late John McCain "crossing the aisle" to cast his vote with Upchuck Schumer and keep Obamacare on the books.
I'm in the ironic circumstance of having to take an ACA policy just to keep my doctor. My alternative is Medicaid, losing my doctor (same medical practice I've seen for 35 years), and being assigned a doctor who doesn't know me or my medical history. Bad "choices" all around...

This is all on Obama and congressional leftists, even though they'll try to pin it on President Trump. President Trump’s Rapid Response needs to get on this beforehand.
