Democratic lawmakers decried it as the “Big, Ugly Bill,” but some members of the minority party are beginning to praise — and even take credit — for various provisions within President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Communities across the country stand to gain billions of dollars in federal funding from the president’s sweeping tax relief and immigration law that Trump signed on July 4. Several congressional Democrats are beginning to claim responsibility for provisions they deem beneficial to their constituents despite fiercely opposing the bill during its passage.

An illegal immigrant charged in a woman’s grisly death in Waukegan, Illinois, and who was set free is in custody again.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents nabbed the illegal, identified as Mexican native 52-year-old Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, in Chicago on Saturday, Fox News reported. [Tweet]
Officials with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the suspect had been arrested in April and charged with concealing a corpse, abusing a corpse, an obstruction of justice, but his time in custody did not last very long because Lake County Judge Randie Bruno decided to cut him loose.

Scottie Scheffler shaped spectacular shots, calmly caressing rugged Royal Portrush Golf Club’s Dunluce Links for a final round 3-under 68 on Sunday to win his first British Open title.
Scheffler, who carried a 4-stroke advantage into the final round, nearly pushed that lead into double digits, with five birdies and one bogey over his last 18 holes.
“It’s a pretty special feeling,” Scheffler said on the NBC broadcast. “It was a tough week. I battled hard all weekend. Today, again, was a battle. I played some really good golf and I’m fortunate to be holding the trophy.”

An Indian woman visiting the U.S. was caught shoplifting over $1,300 worth of merchandise from a Target store in Illinois. Security footage captured her pleading with police, insisting she “accidentally” left without paying. The incident has prompted the U.S. Embassy in India to issue a warning: Indian nationals who commit crimes in the U.S. risk having their American visas revoked.
"Committing assault, theft, or burglary in the United States won’t just cause you legal issues – it could lead to your visa being revoked and make you ineligible for future U.S. visas," U.S. Embassy India said in a new statement.

Former Immigration and Customer Enforcement (ICE) agents are being offered a significant incentive to come back to work.
Many agents who left the agency after becoming demoralized during the Biden years could now earn themselves $50,000 if they return to their former roles.
In an email obtained by The New York Post dubbed Operation Return to Service, agency officials urged their former employees to come back and thanked them for their previous service.
“Due to the prior administration’s disastrous immigration policies, the men and women of ICE now face unprecedented challenges,” the email reads.
“Your experience and unwavering commitment are critically needed to secure our communities and uphold our laws.”

An off-duty Border Patrol agent was shot in the face after being robbed by a moped-riding illegal immigrant in a New York City park — but he shot back and wounded his attacker, according to sources.
The suspect has been identified as Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, a 21-year-old Dominican national with a lengthy rap sheet in New York as well as a deportation order, according to sources — but he was let go each time he was busted.
Mora entered the US illegally via the southern border under the Biden admin, the Department of Homeland Security said Sunday.

Democrat panic is reaching a boiling point.
Democrat Congressman Jim Himes (D-CT), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, went into full-blown panic mode, demanding that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stop releasing documents that expose Obama-era Deep State collusion and abuse of power.
Gabbard’s move follows a stunning declassification of documents that expose how Barack Obama’s intelligence cronies — including John Brennan — used Hillary Clinton’s phony Russia dossier to frame Trump and orchestrate an illegal coup attempt.
But Rep. Himes doesn’t want the truth to see daylight.
In a truly unhinged interview, Himes lashed out at Gabbard, accusing her of spreading a “dangerous lie”

It's already six months into President Donald Trump's second term.
He hit the ground running, and I don't think he's slowed down since he started.
Now, Trump is recognizing what his administration has accomplished in six months, and even the liberal media are having to acknowledge how significant this time has been. [Tweet]
CNN's Jake Tapper said Trump's second term was already "shaping up to be even more consequential than his first," keeping promises like mass deportations and reducing the federal bureaucracy. [Tweet, video]

As we learn more and more about the infamous $250 million "Feeding our Future" fraud scheme in Minnesota, the worse it gets. However, the fraudsters are being held accountable. On Saturday, FBI Director Kash Patel, speaking with Fox News, indicated that no fewer than 70 suspects are under indictment in this massive rip-off.
A $250 million fraud scheme that exploited a federally funded children's nutrition program during the COVID-19 pandemic has been described by FBI Director Kash Patel as "one of the worst" in Minnesota history.

The Trump administration has officially shut the door on former President Joe Biden’s hand-me-downs, putting an end to his controversial SAVE student loan scheme. As a result, it denied 460,000 borrowers access to what critics called an unsustainable handout. The move marks a return to fiscal responsibility, as the Department of Education aims to end student loan forgiveness and restore accountability, rather than providing blanket handouts.
According to an internal document from the Department of Education, approximately 460,000 federal student loan borrowers have been denied access to lower monthly payments through income-driven repayment (IDR) plans. The denial follows a sweeping overhaul of the department under the Trump administration,
