Chalk up another win for team commonsense after 82-year-old Julie Jaman won a $65,000 settlement because she refused to be quiet about a man being in her women’s locker room and was subsequently banned from using her local YMCA pool in Washington. In a statement from the Center for American Liberty, the non-profit group that defends the civil liberties of Americans, said Jaman’s settlement was a “major victory for free speech and civil liberties.” “Julie Jaman has reached a $65,000 settlement in her lawsuit against the City of Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula YMCA after being permanently banned

Great that she got a win, but it appears these defendants have learnt nothing from their loss. Apart from paying her to stay away, there is no announced policy change. How many grandmas suing does it take?

A piddly $65K? Not anywhere near enough to be any kind of deterrent, especially in purple hair land of WA state.

If these law suits keep coming, eventually businesses will stop the ridiculous decision to let men into women's dressing rooms. And I think $65,000 is a good settlement.

Wait!-What?? This is supposed to be a "victory?" OPYMCA pays a few bucks but she's still banned for life and they don't have to change their policy? A hollow victory, indeed.

On what basis can Julie Jaman be permanently banned from the facility? I don't understand how that's not discrimination. What am I missing?

Please excuse the second Post, but she actually won nothing. She got money. BFD. She is still banned from the building and the man can still use the facilities.

IOW, Mamas don't let your babies use the locker rooms at the YMCA. Julie, Silver Sneakers has a wonderful online exercise program. It's a no-judgment zone. Today, a participant mentioned in the chat that he had '0, 2, 5 and 8 pound weights.'

The attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in Butler, Pa., one year ago this month was fake, according to Washington Post readers. Worse, the paper is trying to protect its crazed readers by hiding their comments. Comments to a Post story, excerpting a juicy new book about how Democrats knew all along that Joe Biden was a terrible candidate and couldn't win the 2024 election, revealed just how untethered to reality this bunch really is. It's as if they'd read the Washington Post and come away believing President Donald Trump was Hitler and couldn't be believed or something. These TDS-afflicted readers will be startled

The FBI shut down an investigation into an alleged Chinese Communist Party plot to interfere with the 2020 election because the scheme would have contradicted then-FBI Director Christopher Wray’s congressional testimony, newly released documents show. Senator Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) released internal FBI documents Tuesday showing how the FBI suppressed intelligence about a suspected CCP attempt to create fake drivers licenses and manufacture mail-in votes for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. The Supreme Court announced Thursday it will hear two cases involving state laws preventing boys from competing in girls sports, a key issue in the nationwide battle over transgenderism. The justices are set to determine the Constitutionality of laws in Idaho and West Virginia restricting males who identify as transgender from playing in women and girls sports leagues. A date for oral arguments has not been set, but the Court’s next term will begin in October. The justices ruled 6-3 in June to uphold a Tennessee law banning irreversible transgender operations on minors. The court’s ruling was a major victory

The new CIA assessment released this week is nothing short of a bombshell—a long-overdue confirmation of what conservative media has been saying for years: The Obama administration, with the eager help of its top intelligence brass, orchestrated an unprecedented operation to cripple Donald Trump’s presidency before it even began. This isn’t some fevered speculation or partisan rumor. The CIA’s own review lays out, in damning detail, how former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper, and former FBI Director James Comey took “unusual” and direct control over the infamous Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that became the cornerstone of the Russia collusion hoax.

Have you noticed that liberals are still clinging to the delusion that Republican voters are turning on Donald J. Trump? These claims have been floating around for weeks, and yet, the simple truth of the matter is that this is just a fantasy. The latest data blows that narrative to pieces—and even CNN was forced to admit it. CNN anchor Sara Sidner brought in chief data analyst Harry Enten to break down the numbers, and what he revealed left no room for doubt. “We’re going to look at the 'strongly approved' numbers. President Donald Trump must allow illegal migrants to file for asylum, regardless of the impact on his mandate to raise deportation rates, says a district court judge in Washington, D.C. The administration must also “provide relief” to recently deported migrants who may want to file for asylum in the United States, the Wednesday judgment says. The ruling by Judge Randolph Moss may crash Trump’s deportation policy because it would force officials to release migrants, or detain them at great expense while judges consider asylum pleas. The judgment will be appealed, but it argues that the pro-asylum laws passed by Congress decades ago override Trump’s January 20 proclamation, “Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion.”

Is he antisemitic or just pro-Palestinian? Is he anti-ICE or just pro-immigrant? However, one thing seems to be increasingly clear. Mamdani is a serious Marxist and that should concern anyone in New York City.

Twenty-four House Democrats have called on the Trump administration to close down “Alligator Alcatraz,” a brand-new illegal alien detention facility built in the Florida Everglades. Led by Democratic Reps. Janelle Bynum (OR) and Maxwell Frost (FL), the House Democrats demanded that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Todd Lyons shut the facility down. In the letter, the lawmakers called the facility an “inhumane stunt.” “This remote swamp is notorious for oppressive heat, relentless humidity, severe storms, and perilous terrain infested with venomous snakes, disease-carrying insects, and large predatory wildlife, including alligators and crocodiles,” they wrote.

If you thought the spectacle of Biden behind a podium was a thing of the past, think again. This week, the former president emerged from his Delaware cocoon to deliver the keynote at the Society for Human Resource Management’s convention in San Diego. A couple of months ago, it was revealed that he was having trouble booking speaking gigs — probably because no one was going to fork over the $300,000 speaking fee reportedly attached to his name. The Society for Human Resource Management must have had a Groupon code. So what kind of wisdom did Ol’ Joe share? Biden was asked about what he’s doing these days. His answer?

If you want to understand the full scope of the Biden administration’s border catastrophe, look no further than the horrifying reality that unfolded for thousands of migrant children. Under Joe Biden, the federal government didn’t just lose track of unaccompanied minors; it actively handed them over to criminals, abusers, and traffickers, putting these kids directly in harm’s way. Under Biden, the Department of Homeland Security placed unaccompanied migrant children with so-called “sponsors” who were barely vetted, if at all. These weren’t just distant relatives or family friends. In many cases, these sponsors had rap sheets a mile long — charges ranging from aggravated assault

A new CIA assessment was released on Wednesday that shows how far the Obama administration went to stand up the Russian collusion hoax. John Ratcliffe announced that "all the world will finally see the truth" before name-dropping James Clapper, John Brennan, and James Comey as those primarily implicated in the scheme. All three men took "unusual" direct roles in shaping the now-infamous ICA that was released during the presidential transition following the 2016 election. It was that report that would form the building block of the Russian collusion narrative and eventually lead to a special counsel investigation.

The great thing about what's being referred to as "Alligator Alcatraz" is that it's not just a fantastic detention facility for illegal immigrants ready for deportation, situated out in the Florida Everglades where you're more likely to run into a predatory creature all the way from the Triassic period than a human, but it's also a meme. How could something that awesome not be? The facility is one accidental open door away from being a Michael Crichton book, encouraging everyone there to stay put to stay safe, and while everyone else thinks this is one of the coolest things in America now, the left is doing what it does
