As I write this column late on June 24, Israel and Ayatollah Iran have stopped their latest battle of long-range missiles and bombs.
A tentative ceasefire holds, a ceasefire more or less personally imposed by U.S. president Donald Trump.
The predicate for Trump's ability to demand a ceasefire? The U.S. Air Force 509th Bomb Wing's jaw-dropping raid on and likely destruction of Iran's most critical nuclear weapons facilities — located in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
Early in what Trump calls the 12 Day War, Israeli attacks destroyed Iranian air-space defenses, giving Israel air superiority over Iran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the conclusion of Operation Rising Lion against Iran as a watershed moment in Israel’s national security, declaring it a “historic victory,” stating that “we sent Iran’s nuclear program down the drain,” and warning that any effort by Tehran to restore it would be met with “the same determination and strength.”
In a national address delivered Tuesday, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, “In the 12 days of Operation Rising Lion, we achieved a historic victory. This victory will stand for generations. We removed two immediate existential threats—the threat of destruction by nuclear bombs and the threat of destruction by 20,000 ballistic missiles.”

There were hints last week that something was up between the Trump administration and Harvard. Harvard won in court last Friday and instead of attacking the judge, as Trump tends to do, he posted this positive statement suggesting a deal with Harvard was imminent. If a Settlement is made on the basis that is currently being discussed, it will be “mindbogglingly” HISTORIC, and very good for our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Did that mean a legal settlement in the two cases Harvard has filed against the Trump administration? Maybe but not necessarily according to the Harvard Crimson.

Little-known Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani upset former Governor Andrew M. Cuomo for the Democratic nomination for mayor of New York City on Tuesday night. The governor conceded the race shortly after 10 p.m., though ranked-choice voting totals have yet to be tabulated.
Self-described democratic socialist Mamdani led Cuomo by more than seven percentage points late Tuesday night, with almost 90 percent of the votes counted. Mamdani had 43.5 percent of the vote, with the former governor trailing at 36.3 percent when he conceded.
“Tonight was not our night,” Cuomo said in his remarks. “Tonight was Assemblyman Mamdani’s night.”

n an absolutely stunning and clueless display of hubris, the vice mayor of the L.A. County city of Cudahy — a government "educator" — took to social media to call for well-armed gangs to defend "their streets" against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers. No, really.
Whose side are they on, anyway? Just when you thought Los Angeles had quieted down — the curfews were removed and the chaos agents had gone back to doing whatever it is they do when they're not setting things on fire or looting — the county could go completely sideways after this.
And, yes, this is what you could call fomenting "insurrection." Really.

FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino dropped a political bombshell Tuesday, accusing the bureau’s former leadership of deliberately burying explosive evidence that pointed to a Chinese plot to rig the 2020 election in Joe Biden’s favor.
According to the two top officials, former FBI brass “chose to play politics” instead of doing their jobs—suppressing key intelligence that exposed an apparent scheme by China to flood the system with fake mail-in ballots. The plan allegedly involved mass-producing phony U.S. driver’s licenses, paving the way for fraudulent ballots to be cast on a scale that could alter the outcome of a presidential election.
The revelations came just a week

The US military strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities last weekend did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program and likely only set it back by months, according to an early US intelligence assessment that was described by four people briefed on it.
The assessment, which has not been previously reported, was produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s intelligence arm. It is based on a battle damage assessment conducted by US Central Command in the aftermath of the US strikes, one of the sources said.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement recently carried out a multi-state operation targeting eleven Iranian nationals in the U.S. illegally as the threat of Iranian terror cells attacking the U.S. intensifies.
Over the last 48 hours, federal agents arrested the eleven Iranians and a U.S. citizen who harbored an illegal immigrant from Iran, a Department of Homeland Security official told NR.
“Under Secretary Noem, DHS has been full throttle on identifying and arresting known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through Biden’s fraudulent parole programs or otherwise,”

President Donald Trump uncharacteristically lost his temper a bit when discussing violations of the ceasefire between Iran and Israel with reporters on Tuesday.
Trump took a moment to discuss overnight developments in the Middle East before heading off to attend a NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands.
Hours after the president announced a ceasefire between the warring nations, Israel accused Iran of violating it by launching missiles. They, in turn, planned retaliatory strikes on Tehran. Iran denied the missile launches, while Trump expressed frustration with both nations, particularly Israel, for undermining the fragile truce.

President Donald Trump urged Israel and Iran to honor the cease-fire deal he announced Monday as Israel prepares to retaliate against Iran for launching missiles right before the cease-fire was supposed to come into effect.
“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES” Trump said in another post.

Operation Midnight Hammer, this weekend’s US bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, was a revealing moment on multiple fronts.
First, it confirmed that Iran’s story about peaceful energy development, never very believable, was false. Nobody does peaceful research under hundreds of feet of rock and concrete.
And former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev came right out and admitted that Iran was building nuclear weapons. We knew that, but still . . .
It also established that most of the “anti-war” crowd are just anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-West activists.

At least three people have been killed after a missile launched from Iran struck a residential building in the southern Israeli city of Beer Sheva, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing Israel’s emergency services.
According to CNN’s Eugenia Yosef and Lex Harvey, the casualties include a man approximately 40 years old, a woman about 30, and a man around 20. Six additional people sustained injuries ranging from light to moderate, the emergency response organization Magen David Adom (MDA) said in a statement.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that missiles had been launched from Iran toward Israel and issued instructions for residents to seek shelter immediately.
